My two favorite things about my 2018 Street Triple R are: 1) it is nimble or flick-able. 2) under full throttle from 8,000 -12,000 rpms it is always a thrill and never fails to make me smile.
I've ordered this in the red, and it feels so comfortable and size appropriate for me at 6'5" and moving from a T100 to the Triple 765 RS just feels like a step into a new world. Cannot wait for it to arrive in May.
Good choice on the street triple. I have a ‘22 model that I absolutely love. The only thing I wish it had is cruise control. People complain about the wind. I have a small tinted windscreen that makes the airflow smooth. I have no issues cruising at 80mph. I’ve had it well over 100mph with no issues. It’s a naked bike, you’re going to get air. For just a fun mc that just rips up twisty roads, it’s hard to beat. It’s comfortable; I frequently do long 4 hour rides on mine without issue. It’s faster than I need it to be. It handles far better than I can push it. It’s refined; the shifts are smooth, the brakes are insanely good. It’s smooth as can be. It’s just a brilliant bike; I highly recommend it. 😊
Picked up one of these last week, so much fun to ride I’ve already had to get first 600mile service carried out and that’s all been social riding. Couldn’t wait til July for the red so snatched up the silver ice that was immediately available. Absolutely no regrets - I call it the ‘stealth’ colour option - & at £11.295 was £200 cheaper than the red or yellow. Keep up the great vids/reports Bruce 👍🏻
The Street Tiple is such a great bike. Even better now Triumph are using some brighter colours. Carol's 2015 Street is currently at 33,000 miles and has had no issues. I thought you might be a bit cramped being the same size as me. It's nice to see you weren't too uncomfortable
Great vid! I got the red one 🥰 It's beautiful and amazing. First thing i did was putting on Pirelli Rosso 4 on the bike before i even rode it, live in sweden, not spain... I've done 890km on it so far. Im 171cm and 65kg, and it really really moves with me on it. I really feel like this is more than enough for the roads, not even interested in more power. Suspension is somewhat stiff but you feel the road which i like, and it's adjustable of course. I have only ridden it in road mode during the run-in period, doing the first service on tuesday, gonna try all the other modes after that. Amazing bike. love it.
Thats a beautiful bike! I Just got my first triple.. a 1977 yahama xs750 -2 valve which has been turned into a cafe racer.. it was one of the things on my bucket list. updating it as i speak..
I own the previous incarnation, a Black/Red 675R... 2014 model...As far as I'm concerned the Street Triple is the bench mark of this genre. It looks great, rides great and sounds great...It just keeps getting better...never seen or heard a negative review on these bikes...I ride mine on the great country/mountain roads of Valencia España...They handle beautifully, are sure footed plus are very 'flickable'....whats not to like...
Probably the only bike that could tempt me into trading in my MT10SP, even though it has less power, the 765 RE is one of the best road bikes out there, enough power and a scalpel round twisty roads. I do love the yellow, reminds me of the awesome colours that were on the Daytona’s 👍 cheers Bruce
First time visitor to this channel from New Zealand 🇳🇿 Great review mate i currently use a Triumph Trident 660 as my daily commuter & when it comes time for a change i think the RS will be a no brainer to choose. Ive just subscribed to your channel & look forward to seeing seeing more of your work. Cheers Jeremy
I absolutely love the looks of this bike, my first big bike I bought was the original Triumph Street Triple 675. After watching this video I am seriously tempted to go back to one. Cheers Bruce 😉, great video 👏🏻👏🏻
It can be compared to the Yamaha Mt09 SP, but what I like about the rs765 is the 5-inch screen, the 15L tank and the fact that it has torque at higher revs and the motorcycle seems much more controllable than the mt09, which has 90Nm at 7000 revs!
Balancing tq and gearing is important. A bike that wheelies when you glance at the throttle is fun for a while, but gets tiresome for many. There's a happy medium.
I owned a 2018 765RS here in the US, and I'm considering a '24 year model. My only complaints were the mirrors vibrating at speeds above 50mph, and the huge turn signals we got in the US. Other than that, the bike was just a speedy knife carving up the asphalt.
I traded in my 2020 RS three weeks ago for the 2023 model and it's hard to believe that Triumph have made such improvements on what was already a great bike, the steering's sharper but still absolutely planted and the shorter gearing has made acceleration in low and mid range revs much peppier, my only slight gripe is the TFT which is much more crowded than the previous model and TBH I think the one on the R is better as it's simple but shows all you need to know, I'm with you on the tyres and come the end of summer I'll be changing to Pirelli diablo rosso 3s or 4s.
Alot of people had gripes about the fact that the rev counter on the TFT is unintuitive as it goes up on both sides of the screen. I'm not sure if there are options to change it.
@@ThiefOfNavarre I've discovered that although you can't get rid of the dual sided rev counter (which can be hard to read) you can install a numbered rev counter at the top of the screen by clicking up once or once to the right depending on which display you've chosen.
This in the yellow could tempt me back on another Triumph, I think it is currently their best looking bike, and the best Street Triple they have built.... I do very much want Triumph to give us some funky coulours for the Speed Triple 1200RS though, as that would make me seriously look at my finances to try and find the money for one. I saw a dealership had converted the 1200RR into an RS but with the electronic suspension, and had also painted it the fluro yellow of the limited edition Moto2 version of the Street Triple, it looked incredible!
I have an ‘18 765R which I love. I drooled over the Street Triple for 6 years before I got mine. On mine, I can hit 64 mph in first when it hits redline. It is a blast to ride.
Bought the exact bike on Monday. Engine is soo smooth. Quickshifter is like butter. Soo flickable. An upgrade over my Aprilia RS660. Love it soo far. Spot on with your review

Fantastic video Bruce! As a fellow 'Tuber I'm guessing that little "12mm longer" graphic over the handlebars took far longer to make than you'd like to admit! Great use of the drone too for the shots with you sat on it. Now as a bike that has pretty much all the toys, I'm disappointed that it doesn't separate wheelie control from TC, and that tiny mirrored rev counter display is just an abomination! But everything else looks mega on this bike 😁
Cheers Dave, glad you enjoyed it. Aye it’s a lovely road bike bud, well worth chucking your leg over and taking for a hurl! All good here thanks brother, hope you’re well too 👍
I was at the point of buying the Speed triple rr when I rode this new Street triple rs and wow blown away, as a previous owner on an 18 plate this is different level with the steeper rake and fantastically flickable wow. Cheers Teapot great review as always.
Good choice 👍🏾 I have the Speed Triple Rs , trust me the Street triple is way more practical, it’s a bit gutless at low revs but that’s just because I’m used to the Speed 180 bhp , the Street triple is way more comfortable
@@pcarts232 As I'm selling a Yamaha MT10 to fund purchase thats my only minor concern the lesser bhp of the Street compared with the Speed, I'm really 50/50 which to buy as there both fantastic.
@@debenhamdave4314 have a really long ride on both at least an hour but for me the extra 4K for the Speed Triple is not worth it , I’ve never taken mine above 7000 rpm !! I’ve had it a year !!! If I buy the RR it will be a used model for similar money around 12.5k but that is hell of a lot of bike for the money. Cheers
@@debenhamdave4314 oh yes definitely, if the RR IS only £1000 more then it’s a better choice, much more bike for the money and a level up from the Street Triple , either way they’re both fantastic bikes so you can’t really go wrong with the RS RR OR the Street Triple 👍🏾
Great video and a lovely looking bike - in the past, I found the finish in Triumphs to feel a bit low budget: paint and logos weren’t great. Have they improved this?
Thanks for the review Bruce. Comparing the Street Triple 765 RS with Honda 750 Hornet Twin ? Like for like the obvious comparison to the 765 RS would have to be either the 2022 MT09SP or the XSR900. Both brands have triple cylinder engines, 6 axis IMU, similar performance and pricing plus the Yamahas comes standard with Cruise Control
Great review! I love the part when you show your self on the bike. You should make that a standard on your reviews. I think it's an important perspective (especially for us bigger guys). Great video! Cheers - Jim
Thanks Jim, I’ve actually done this on a few other review vids but never included it for some reason - seems daft now I think about it not to have used the footage 🤦♂️🤣 Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Hi Bruce Watched your video on the new Street Triple RS with interest as I currently own a ‘19 plated RS which is due to be part-ex’d for an R1250R I’m having tailormade. A’hem. I agree with your opinion on the Pirelli Super Corsa’s in the wet. In a downpour with standing water they have frightened the doodoo outa me; and I’m lucky to get 2000 miles out of the front tyre! My fuel consumption is in the lower 40’s and so I can’t understand the smaller 15L tank on the latest models from the 17.1 litres of my bike. Just fashion I guess!
I cant class this bike in same cat as the hornet/mt07 or new suzuki. There entry middle weights, then i think another catagory is premium middle weights like this, the ducati monster, ktm duke, what ever mv agusta have, and maybe the z900 and mt09 sneak in aswell due that they do have bigger brothers.
First time Watcher, and what a great channel. Excellent review of a wonderful bike. I've got a Trident 660 and amazing how much extra power the RS has got for just 100cc more... plus different cams etc etc. Re the USB port I just run a 1.5M cable thru the bike bodywork to the bars. Job done. But I take your point. Keep up the great work. +1 sub.
Naked bikes arent popular because people dont want wind protection. They are popular because people want sport bike performance with comfortable ergernomics and they are sick of the so called sport bikes that you cant ride for over a half an hour without breaking your back. What people really want are sport bikes with fairings but with naked bike ergernomics. This Street Triple RS would be the perfect bike with a fairing. What good is all the power if you dont feel comfortable using it because the wind hammers you at anything over 70 mph. Ducati got it right with the Supersport. And i wish other companies would follow along. People are sick of having to ride back breaking track bikes on the street. The first sport bikes were not like that. Like the 1984 Ninja 900. It had a full fairing but you could still see the engine. It had a flat comfortable seat that a passenger could also be comfortable on. And it had comfortable orgonomics with nice wind protection. But somewhere along the line companies lost sight of the fact that sport bikes are for the street. And that is what forced people over to naked bikes. But it's time for bike companies to realize whats going on. And go back to making sport bikes for the street.
No Jonathan, that’s YOUR personal opinion bud - there are plenty people out there who enjoy riding sports bikes, Baird’s etc and aren’t bothered about wind protection or comfort. Each to their own, everyone is different, that’s why there are so many different types of bike available out there. If manufacturers did as you say, then we’d all end up on the same bikes - how boring would that be! It would just be millions of GS’s… best bikes in the world 😉🤣👍
Looks great and would love one as a second bike but have just bought a new hornet which is £4500 cheaper and not in the same league of course. Except for the dash which is better. The dash on this and the last gen RS is not very good. What's going on with the rev counter? Also the R model dash is not great either coming off the Tigersport 660. They should have fitted the one from the speed triple
Great review , the bike looks and sounds awesome. You looked fine on it too me and anyhow who cares what anybody else thinks, judging from your comments, the bike did what it's supposed to do and that's put a smile on your face😊
Although it would be great to have the USB already up front, a good point is the battery is only under the cover at the front of the fuel tank ( well it is on the 1050RS) so no having to strip tank off but if you do the down side is it will not be isolated when ignition is switched off. Great review, pity you didn't get good weather and some nicer roads😁
Thanks for sharing your exciting and enjoyable ride. I really love the new colours, and the yellow appeals to me. I have a '21 R and am still massively enjoying it so not thinking of any changes in the forseeable. Obviously the RS is much "more" but I don't really need the extra performance. You don't look too big on it despite these being fairly small bikes and your quite large size. You seem very comfortable and accomplished riding the bike so I wish you many happy and safe miles ahead. :>)
Nice one again Bruce, yep it sounds and looks great, a great review as always mate👏 yeah must admit its so tempting for a test ride see what its like👌Regards Glenn.👍
Nice review Bruce , nice wee bike defo getting into the speedtriple of a few years ago territory in a lighter package got to be a great bike. And it shows you don't need to come up here for the rain all the time 😁😁👍
Good review Bruce. I couldn't justify the price as a second bike however I miss my 2018 Street Triple R which was a cracking bike. It appears that Triumph has improved something that was already fantastic. The major competitor is the KTM 890 Duke R but this would definitely be my choice due to build quality and reliability.
Ohhh so nice...I miss my Street Triple 675 RX.. I swapped it in against an R1200RS for comfier touring.. Question.. could you tour on this street triple or do you think the R model would be better suited? Just tried out my roadskin hoody at the weekend too, great addition!
Love the looks of this and many Triumph bikes ,i have watched several reviews enjoyed all of them ,on this bike , I like more weather protection at my time of life, not that I ride in the wet , but wind and cold protection suits me , I will ride on a dry winters day so a naked isn't for me ,
Just bought this bike in this colour. Absolutely love it! One thing about the headlights, I thought it was terrible at first. But adjusted it to be *just* at cars hoods, and it is insanely bright now. I can see everything around me on the country roads for possible deer. It's as good as my 2018 Miata's headlights, honestly. I also always run high beams. Idgaf if people feel blinded. The amount of trucks that are far worse... doesn't give me any remorse
Great video. I went to px my 890r in against this bike. Unfortunately dealer did not offer enough so sadly will be keeping it for the time being. Cosmic yellow is the best colour.
Very nice review. I will need to check this bike out. I liked the 890r, test rode the new monster sp and liked that better than the 890r. So, can this bike dethrone the monster sp?
Lovelllly engine but I owned one a few years back and it was way too much power for me haha. I sold it for a scrambler 900 which I’ve recently sold for a Tiger 900 GTP. Also, check out those video editing skills Bruce! Loving that “12mm wider” handle bar tracking edit nice work.😊
I think its the Daytona RR to take on the R9 Yamaha you are for getting this is a test mule all components are only temporary like straight handbags etc but the swing arms are reminiscent of the R1 watch this space😊😊
Metzeler roadtec s01s work fantastic on my xr, even in winter Belgium. And I'm sorry to bring it to you, but you are ridicilously big for that bike. Is this also available in A2? And upgradable later, because it looks like a nice bike for my daughter.
Cheers Les, Aye 2023 has been insane, the tours have taken over, but they bring in the money which allows me to limit the need for sponsors etc. Just finding the life-balance now for 2024 👍😉
Hello my friend I am a bmw gs1250 Hp rider as you .. I rode the new speed triple da and I want to change it .. I want something more fun.. So my question Triumph speed triple Rs 1200 Or the new rs 765? Thank you in advanced
I’ve owned a number of Street Triples and now a couple of Speeds and I love them. My one complaint, what have they done with the logo on the tank on the newer models? I want Triumph not the T logo. It looks cheap and nasty and even the dealers I’ve spoken to agree. Come on Triumph.

I have ridden both for an hour already and will ask to do the same again and as you say not rushing into a decision, although if I'm too long the Street in yellow that I favour won't be available till spring 24, as currently only autumn 73 plates available. If I buy the RR it will be a used model for similar money around 12.5k but that is hell of a
lot of bike for the money.
Fantastic review - best I've seen yet. Thank you.
Great review Bruce! That looks a lovely bike (and what a sound!). Looks like Triumph have another winner on their hands. 👍
Thanks Alan, glad you enjoyed it👍
Great review! I love the part when you show your self on the bike. You should make that a standard on your reviews. I think it's an important perspective (especially for us bigger guys). Great video! Cheers - Jim
Thanks Jim, I’ve actually done this on a few other review vids but never included it for some reason - seems daft now I think about it not to have used the footage 🤦♂️🤣
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
❤love
You look like I do on my scorched yellow Daytona 675 (which I love). Just came back from austria/Italy on it:) still smiling!!!
Hi Bruce
Watched your video on the new Street Triple RS with interest as I currently own a ‘19 plated RS which is due to be part-ex’d for an R1250R I’m having tailormade.
Cheers for the discount on the hoodie Bruce, it does look smart.
+1 sub.
Cheers Bob,
Welcome to the channel bud 👍
Beautiful bike, great review as usual. Well done for hitting the A249 without the effin traffic!
Looks like a badass bumblebee. Nice bike!! Great vid brother!
It would just be millions of GS’s… best bikes in the world 😉🤣👍
That colour is gorgeous. BTW Bruce, what happened to the paint job videos on your Shoei Hornet? Have I missed them?
Great video Bruce !
Thank you for your dedicated off camera research. Stay free, stay fast.
stop it Teapot1, I have a Street Triple 675 and have not felt the need to change it........until now.
Sounds fantastic Bruce. You've gotta love a triple at full chat
Great video Mr pot 😎
Triumph where’s the fully faired Moto gp version?🏁
Another good review Bruce and a cracking bike.
Great vid thanks. Where did you get your chest bag pls, one of the links you included? Cheers Scott
I definitely wouldn't mind one in my garage !!
Loving the opening of this vid pal 🤘lovely bike I will always have a soft spot for the triumph
Nice one again Bruce, yep it sounds and looks great, a great review as always mate👏 yeah must admit its so tempting for a test ride see what its like👌Regards Glenn.👍
another good and honest review bruce
Thanks Allan 👍
Great review, stunning motorcycle, love the color!
Yellow one is right up my alley Bruce.. makes your backpack look massive tho 😂
Brilliant vid great looking bike
Nice review Bruce , nice wee bike defo getting into the speedtriple of a few years ago territory in a lighter package got to be a great bike. And it shows you don't need to come up here for the rain all the time 😁😁👍
Is this what your mic sounds like from inside the helmet?? If so, what mic are you using?
Yep, I just use cheap TRS Lav mic’s off Amazon, something like this will work fine - amzn.to/3Nh49ON
Good review Bruce.
Very nice bike but have you done a review on the 765r ?
Great video as always 👍
Love the looks of this and many Triumph bikes ,i have watched several reviews enjoyed all of them ,on this bike ,
I like more weather protection at my time of life, not that I ride in the wet , but wind and cold protection suits me , I will ride on a dry winters day so a naked isn't for me ,
Bruce you should file a complaint with gopro. because every time you go over a certain speed the speed gets fuzzy. maybe they have a fix for that.
Good review, thanks. Have you ridden the KTM 890R?
The dream. But given the $, settled for a Hornet. Bike perfection in that yellow.
nice color, it looks like Bumble Bee =))))
Excellent review.
welcome to Maidstone! :D
Monster SP and 765 are fun in different ways ... you need both 😎
I hear a Scottish accent. I hit like. Its really that simple.
The best naked 👍 (and not many faired bikes are better on the road either)
Metzeler roadtec s01s work fantastic on my xr, even in winter Belgium.
And I'm sorry to bring it to you, but you are ridicilously big for that bike.
Is this also available in A2? And upgradable later, because it looks like a nice bike for my daughter.
What backpack have you got
I still on catch up Bruce. Heavens above havant you been a buzy blogger. Still enjoying your content sir 👌😊.
Cheers Les,
Aye 2023 has been insane, the tours have taken over, but they bring in the money which allows me to limit the need for sponsors etc.
Just finding the life-balance now for 2024 👍😉
Need a review of the tiger rally explorer
Thats a bold statement, the ultimate naked, is it better than my 1290 SDR, hmmm
Hello my friend
I am a bmw gs1250 Hp rider as you .. I rode the new speed triple da and I want to change it .. I want something more fun..
So my question Triumph speed triple
Rs 1200
Or the new rs 765?
Thank you in advanced
Great review, got yourself a new sub, 😂
Im just ordered a red one :P
Great review✊🔥racey hooligan bike better then the touring bike Mt 09😜
Come on Bruce take it for a round the world trip
What place is he driving, looks fabulous
I’ve owned a number of Street Triples and now a couple of Speeds and I love them. My one complaint, what have they done with the logo on the tank on the newer models? I want Triumph not the T logo. It looks cheap and nasty and even the dealers I’ve spoken to agree. Come on Triumph.
