At last someone from MCN that gives a comprehensive proper review. I used to get so frustrated with other reviews when they seemed to just concentrate on getting their knees down and practically bugger all about the bike. MCN take note this guy is spot on. You need to employ more people like this bloke he is a gem. He knows his stuff.
threepot Don't forget Triumph still produce bikes in the UK as well. Hinckley is not just a design centre - yet anyway. At the end of the day all major manufacturers produce machines in other countries.
Andy P thanks Andy. I plan to do a couple of updates over the next few months. Thanks for the kind words. Keep your eyes peeled for the next one :-) - Joe
Excellently presented and an honestly delivered long term review. You can tell he has lived with the bike and is able to comment sensibly on things that matter to prospective owners.
Triumph should thank you for putting a bike on my radar that I wouldn't have even noticed without this review. So many choices today. I have bought as many bikes as my wife can bare. Garage is full but you made this Triumph seem fun and practical over the larger cc bikes. Good Job,,from Utah
I only saw your video now in Feb 2019. I got my 765 RS in October last year, got the same fly screen and a arrow exhaust on and I love the bike. I fall more in love with each time I ride it and I love the sound it makes. I loved my previous bike which i had for 6 years which was a Honda CBF 600 which had also done over 80 000km on it. But wow the triumph feels amazing. I found the fly screen helps alot more than having no screen. Cause without it I felt like I was going to become a flag waving on the bike without it. I have over 4000 km on the triumph so far and loved every km on it.
fantastic review, has a great personality for bike reviews. really informative and details that people what to know! and 125bhp at the back wheel is mega! not often manufacturers under-estimate their power figures! great review more like this please MCN!
lol great outtakes, ive had two streets i have had the same problem as you with tail pack and rucksacks and the wind blast after a few years id had enough back on a faired bike now, the new one does look smart tho
Love your style, man. Keep up the good work. I want that bike. Problem is, I want a couple dozen other bikes also. How can a man own just one bike? There are so many great ones out there.
good review,I have always owned sports bikes and I have got the 2017 s1000rr, but after I tried a couple naked bikes it really changed my mind and I really enjoyed,I'm tempted to test ride the triumph
Good review. I really REALLY like this bike, and when I took one out for an afternoon, i had more fun than on my 2016 R1. Triumph have nailed it and I will own one 👍
Same here, 1 hour on this bike and now i'm selling my CBR 954 RR which i own for 15 years ... i thought i was in love before i tested the 765 RS. It's a pure gem and you can use all the power as you want and when you want with total control and confidence when you have a bit of experience (not like the MT09). It's a brilliant engeneered bike on which accent is more placed on quality and efficiency than on marketing. The price is not that high for the gear onboard. Take a MT09 SP, put few essential options and it cost more than the RS that nearly need nothing to be complete ! My only 2 concerns are : - the valves maintenance that has to be done 2 times more often than on the Yamaha 3 cylinders and it might cost alot more and the clutch cable that is annoying to see the screen and to put the key on/off. Sorry for english mistakes (not my language) V
Ive always loved the tests that MCN did in 1980s when I started riding on road, now with RUclips its absolutely brilliant. I REALLY like the new Street Triple, Im a bit to old for the hooligan bikes (lol) but I still love my superbikes. Nearly time for me to get a sport tourer type bike, but NOT just yet lol. When my back won't let me bend over the tank, then I'll consider the uprights. Thx for the superb reporting/testing.
Haha best bit is the outtakes at the end 😂 thanks for the review, I've been putting off getting one of these as long as possible, but every time I hear a review the fun of riding it comes flooding back and slaps my in the face!
probably the best review yet of the 765RS, I've had mine for about 3000miles and all the positives and negatives are spot on, a real honest review. Looking forward to the update on exhaust as apart from the Arrows pipe I've only seen a SC Project pipe available
Great review. Commentary and opinions given after a long test on all sorts of roads - even talked about accessories! Bit better than your average journo, that gets 2 hours on a well prepped bike on lovely roads in Spain. Good work fella
Test rode the S and the RS today, so for a change I could actually agree and disagree on all his points, but he was pretty spot on. Will be getting the R as I really don't need the extra track performance but do want the new TFT display and slightly higher engine power and better brakes for the extra £800. Incredible machine for its price. Btw, enjoyed the outtakes. :-))
I completely agree about the Super Corsa SP vs the Rosso III. I mostly ride on road, in fact I haven't ever put my Speed Triple R (2015 model) on a track. I rode out of the mall where I had the tyres fitted and turned right onto the main road and the Rosso III felt planted, less than 100 metres from the shop and the back end felt better at urban speeds than with the Super Corsa SP after 5 kays to warm up, it was so weird and unexpected that I thought maybe it was a bit under inflated so I doubled back the 2 km home and checked the pressure with my Topeak digital gauge I use for my mounainbike, and the pressure was pretty much spot on. Normally I tiptoe through intersections if I'm turning left or right because the SPs have zero dust on the road tolerance, but the Rosso IIIs don't even notice a little bit of gravel or sand swept together by the cars, I could just as well be belting around the corner in my Opal Adam with it's huge rubber footprints
I really liked the presentation. The "real world" experience with the bike is lacking in many other reviews. This may be the best review I have seen from MCN; that said, I am trying really, really hard not to buy one, and this review didn't make that any easier :-)
I currently own a 2015 str and after this great review, will definitely take a test ride on a 765 very soon, may I add, surprisingly the str is not a bad “tourer” as I’ve just road mine down to Venice, taking in the grimsel / furka / fluella / stelvio & Gavia mountain passes en route
thank you for this great review! Exactly my thoughts about this bike. It's interesting that you also had to replace one light bulb after about 1000 miles - mine went out after 1500 miles. Absolutely lovely bike after all though.
makes me wonder how much longer the speed triple will be around. compared to my 2006 speed, this has almost the same hp, a better chassis, better suspension, better exhaust system (already low for cog) and with some effort could just as wheelie well.
Great update keep them coming especially at this quality! When I test rode the RS loved its light weight but found it unstable at high speed and the seat position smashes your nuts against the tank. Also wish keep black and gold wheel paint scheme
If you press the mode button twice, the mode menu doesn't vanish after 2 seconds but stays until you select a mode. Thought you should know! Great review btw!
The Street has always been love or hate style wise with next to no middle ground. If you can get past that the bike is a gem. Triumph are continuing to show the rest of the world how to build arguably the best all round road bike in the world. What more do you need unless you need something for the road that can take your hard earned licence of you in less than 3secs?
I wouldn't do any long distance trips with a backpack. Laptop and camera gear especially is gonna hurt you if you fall... Better getting some panniers if you're carrying that much.
Michael Bianconi ridden both bikes, whilst the brutale for me was a winner looks wise once I rode the RS it was no competition . Hoping to pick up my RS next week some time :)
i actually currently own the Brutale and i was curious how they held up against each other but i suppose ill ask you haha! What really made the big difference for you between the two!? and yeah the styling on the Brutale just takes my breath away every day, there isn't a day i don't get a complement on it!
The RS feels more planted and confidence inspiring, whilst the Brutale had both up and down quick shifter I felt the one on the RS was smoother. I found the seating position on the Brutale uncomfortable the ridges on the side of the tank made it impossible to grip with my legs. Just my 2 cents. ;-)
Triumph make good stock pipes to. I'm waiting to change mine on my 675, but the stock exhaust sounds pretty good and haven't felt the need to change the exhaust.
The reason why you can’t switch from rider mode to an other mode is problably because you’r rider mode is set up in the track motor mapping, thats also the reason why its in road mode every time you start up the motorcycle
Great review and own this bike! If you could do one another on luggage when you get it that would be great. Went to Switzerland on mine and luggage was my issue!! Didn't like my Oxford 40l bag at all.
this guy should do all the reviews..sounds like a bike enthusiast rather than a journo..good stuff!
I was thinking that whilst watching this. Brilliant review.
Good reviewer
Defo better than most MCN reviewers ... the bloopers at the end were a nice touch
At last someone from MCN that gives a comprehensive proper review. Triumph doing Britain proud
jaustinuk agree, but a shame their not made in the UK?
threepot Don't forget Triumph still produce bikes in the UK as well. Hinckley is not just a design centre - yet anyway. At the end of the day all major manufacturers produce machines in other countries.
Golly, hello everyone. I ride my Bonneville with pride.
yeah but brexit will f everything up!
Really great review! Lots of detail and well presented and structured. Hope to see a follow-up soon!
Andy P thanks Andy. I plan to do a couple of updates over the next few months. Thanks for the kind words. Keep your eyes peeled for the next one :-) - Joe
Nice review. Sounds very nice.
After years of bouncing between reviews and channels, I've finally found my favorite cycle reviewer. Joe's the best! More from him!
Great review, love the out takes!
10 points for the blooper section!
10 points to Griffindor
Outstanding review. Managed to not sound like a Triumph sales add but a genuine enthusiast. Well done.
Excellently presented and an honestly delivered long term review. You can tell he has lived with the bike and is able to comment sensibly on things that matter to prospective owners.
Wow I've never enjoyed an MCN video more than this one. Keep this dude doing more videos!
I like this guy, great review, in depth and tells you what you want and need to know. A proper long term review. Excellent work.
really good video, 5/5, more like this please MCN.
Triumph should thank you for putting a bike on my radar that I wouldn't have even noticed without this review. So many choices today. I have bought as many bikes as my wife can bare. Garage is full but you made this Triumph seem fun and practical over the larger cc bikes. Good Job,,from Utah
This vid and your Alps et. al. trip pretty much convinced me that I MUST have this bike. Your blooper reel was EPIC! Keep up the great work.

I love my RS! Glad to hear that I wasn't the only one that blew the left-side headlight right after 1,000 miles!
This was awesome MCN, Michael Neeves can finally get some rest now you got another great reviewer
ilpuntouk don't tell him that😩
ilpuntouk Lol, true..yeah Joe is a keeper for sure....great job mate.
Had a test ride today on the RS, what a machine! He’s right about the noise! 👍🏽
I rubber mounted the bar end mirrors, which totally eliminates any blurriness, i used a spare piece of rubber roofing, 1cm wide by 7".
fantastic review, has a great personality for bike reviews. really informative and details that people what to know! and 125bhp at the back wheel is mega! not often manufacturers under-estimate their power figures! great review more like this please MCN!

One of the best and honest review of the bike!
Quite possibly the only decent mcn review I've seen yet.
Let this fella do all future reviews.
Good review. I really REALLY like this bike, and when I took one out for an afternoon, i had more fun than on my 2016 R1. Triumph have nailed it and I will own one 👍

@@Barabassx I was wondering should I trade my 2010 blade for one of these . Sounds like I might
Ive always loved the tests that MCN did in 1980s when I started riding on road, now with RUclips its absolutely brilliant. I REALLY like the new Street Triple, Im a bit to old for the hooligan bikes (lol) but I still love my superbikes.

Test rode the RS about 1.5 months ago. LOVE the engine.
Haha best bit is the outtakes at the end 😂 thanks for the review, I've been putting off getting one of these as long as possible, but every time I hear a review the fun of riding it comes flooding back and slaps my in the face!
Excellent review, collecting my 765RS next week and riding to Prague, have a good trip !
probably the best review yet of the 765RS, I've had mine for about 3000miles and all the positives and negatives are spot on, a real honest review. Looking forward to the update on exhaust as apart from the Arrows pipe I've only seen a SC Project pipe available
Throughly great review, can't wait for the next episode, your enthusiasm is portrayed excellently. Love the out takes, keep them coming😂
Great review. Commentary and opinions given after a long test on all sorts of roads - even talked about accessories! Bit better than your average journo, that gets 2 hours on a well prepped bike on lovely roads in Spain. Good work fella
Great review! Interesting, realistic and well presented. Out takes were brilliant addition.. Great bloke.
Test rode the S and the RS today, so for a change I could actually agree and disagree on all his points, but he was pretty spot on. Bloopers are a nice touch too.
Those outtakes at the end 😂 Brilliant review, great bike
This guy is great! Please do more reviews.
Great simple, clear and informative review, really enjoyed that thanks!
Great review. I sat on one yesterday. Im buying one tomorrow.
Great review and man... This bike is growing on me, i want One!
This guy is crazy.. The bike is beautify done.
Late to this review but it is excellent. Just put a deposit down on a 2019 RS, can’t wait to get it delivered 👍🏻
Wife rocks a 2018 RS. It’s such a killer motorcycle and this review is spot on.
i keep mine in rain mode and i think its smoother throttle-wise...
I completely agree about the Super Corsa SP vs the Rosso III. I mostly ride on road, in fact I haven't ever put my Speed Triple R (2015 model) on a track. Great video MCN! Very honest review.
Absolutely awesome bike nice review Mcn.

RIP JAMIE, left this world doing what he loved, we send condolences to your family ,ride on m8🔥
Great review! Seen a few this is one of the best ones...
Great review MCN are getting there 👍
thank you for this great review!
Exactly my thoughts about this bike. It's interesting that you also had to replace one light bulb after about 1000 miles - mine went out after 1500 miles.
Absolutely lovely bike after all though.
Great review!!! Lot's of information about the bike!!!

Hey 'The Incredible Sulk', interesting to hear.. Can I ask how tall you are? - Joe
+MCN - Motorcyclenews.com a bit of a short arse at 5ft 8 with 29 inch inseam
What a great looking triumph would love one 👍
great review. I might just have to go for a test ride 😀. p.s like the outtakes at the end 😄
Joe D. is the best AND he is funny! ;)
If you press the mode button twice, the mode menu doesn't vanish after 2 seconds but stays until you select a mode. Thought you should know! Great review btw!

Sleepingdragon 1 a good looking bike? lol no, but for reals, it does sound like a good bike based off this review alone.
So many comments great job joe
A decent review. Well done MCN.
Very nice review. I own one and everything he said is true. I like the last minute...😊
Love the way u review the bike, sir
Good review
Love the out takes...
Great real user review, seriously thinking of one of these
😂😂😂 the outakes were amazing! Good review, keep it up! You should be doing most the MCN videos along with Neeves.
Great review! I really need to try one...
Ridden this and loved it. LOVED IT. anyone no if the speed rs has the same kind of handling abilities??
Joe you should do more reviews!!! You're ace! Loved the video, love the bike, keep it up :)
All these years later and I’ve only just seen this! Thanks Kate! Probably see you in Marseille in 2 days 😂
Awesome review
Familiar experience story :) Also: we're colour buddies!
Loved the last 2 minutes! ahahahah Great machine!
i can not wait to get one
Gosh damn it, now I want one.
Amazing motorcycle!
Very interesting, thank you!
I wouldn't do any long distance trips with a backpack. Laptop and camera gear especially is gonna hurt you if you fall... Better getting some panniers if you're carrying that much.
then just dont fall ? simple solution !
IgWannA2 no thanks. Panniers are a pain.
Cool part I did the measurements at a show. I'm almost sure the 765 motor bolts in the 675 Daytona. If not bolt in very little mods.
nice explanation. need him more on the reviews
good review, definitely more in RUclips style which is great
beautiful review.
Those bloopers 😂😂
Want! 10/10
I would love to see this compared to the new MV Agusta Brutale 800! Would be super close match up! Both such beautiful premium bikes!
Great and interesting review - been looking at the Speed R, but loved my 2010 Street R and there's lots of shiny new bits on the STRS...
Just got my hands on a cat B rs so binge watching footage, engine and electronics going in my 675 chassis
Triumph make good stock pipes to. I'm waiting to change mine on my 675, but the stock exhaust sounds pretty good and haven't felt the need to change the exhaust.
I agree the stock exhausts sound really good. Im switching to a scorpion slip on on my street 675 but mainly for looks.
The reason why you can’t switch from rider mode to an other mode is problably because you’r rider mode is set up in the track motor mapping, thats also the reason why its in road mode every time you start up the motorcycle

Great vid.
Thanks
Outtakes. lol. Great review111
What about the clutch cable crossing in front of the cluster?
