This song is the British National Anthem. Now you’ve heard this band you can’t go back. You’ve got so many new tunes to look forward too :-). “Live forever”, “songbird”, ‘Little by Little” to name but a few :-)
Oasis will always have a special place in my heart and my identity. "Wonderwall" gave me comfort and safety back in 1995, when I at the age of 11 had just witnessed my aunt die from cancer, after most of my family had passed away from the same disease in the years before. Oasis is one of the greatest bands of all time and that is just an objective fact.
Don't look Back In Anger was their best song IMHO, and I think it's telling that Liam had nothing to do with it (maybe he played tamborine). 95% of the talent in that band was in brother Noel.
The Beatles - and especially John Lennon - were a huge influence on Oasis, and that influence is perhaps most apparent in this song. The piano intro was taken from Lennon's "Imagine," and the line "So I start a revolution from my bed" is a reference to the sing, who staged a famous "bed-in" to promote peace.
You would think that whoever wrote (and sang) this song is a mellow guy... Nope! Oasis were the 90's version of The Beatles musically... but the band was involved in a lot of fighting, cussing and turmoil w/ drugs & alcohol. They were fodder for the tabloids in Britain (and America too!) during their peak in the 90's decade. Oasis were called 'alternative rock'... but that hurt their popularity after 2000, when that 90's scene went out. The band carried on their brand of modernized 60's rock music until 2009. Oasis was primarily lead singer Liam Gallagher and his brother, Noel Gallagher (guitar/ vocals/ songwriter) who were always at odds w/ each other... their conflicts ultimately split up the band in 2009. Noel sang lead on "Don't look back in anger" from this 1995 album "(What's the story) Morning glory"... which also delivered major hits like 'Wonderwall'... 'Champagne supernova' ... and 'Some might say' 🔥🔥🤘🤘 Other Oasis classics - 'Live forever'... 'Supersonic' ... 'Columbia'... "D'you know what I mean?" ... 'Stand by me'... 'Go let it out'
"90's version of the Beatles"? Oasis isn't even worthy to play their vinyl let alone be compared to them. Your comment much like the band themselves are rubbish.
Oasis is generally classified as "Indie / Rock" or "Britpop". Here are some other bangers: Oasis - Live Forever Oasis - Supersonic Oasis - Whatever Oasis - Acquiesce Oasis - Morning Glory Oasis - The Masterplan Oasis - (It's Good) To Be Free Oasis - Slide Away Oasis - Roll With It Oasis - Rock 'n' Roll Star Oasis - Cast No Shadow Oasis - Some Might Say Oasis - Hello Oasis - D'You Know What I Mean? I believe Oasis is the last of the super bands that changed the sounds of rock and made us sit up and listen to a new sound. Sadly haven’t heard any group to come near them since.
This song is from 1995, and is one of those songs everyone in the UK knows and always joins in when it plays. After the Manchester Arena bombing the people of Manchester (where Oasis are from) all congregated to remember those who died ,and were injured and just started singing this song in solidarity for Manchester and in tribute to everyone affected. It truly was remarkable.
Awesome 👏👏👏👏👏 Oasis was an amazing band that had many great hits like "Live forever", "Lyla", "Go let It out" and "Champagne supernova". Greetings from Brazil.
Oasis was part of a 'scene' in the UK called Britpop, which was a post Nirvana reimvention of guitar music over here post the Rave/Dance scene of the early 90s Noel (guitars and songwriter) sang vocals on this instead of his brother Liam They fell out a lot, the band split in 2009, they still dont speak Loads of good bands came from the same era - Blur, Elastica, Pulp, Supergrass, Garbage, L7 - tons of new guitar bands that inspired others (Kasabian etc) Saw Oasis 4 times at big stadium gigs, an awesome night each time! For other songs, you can pretty much find a classic on either of their first 2 albums (Definitely...Maybe and Whats The Story (Morning Glory) ) They did about 7 albums - are bangers on each one. The Importance of Being Idle is a great tune.
There is a very heavy Beatles influence present in this one. The beginning sounds much like John Lennon's, "Imagine," plus they even make reference to Lennon with the lyrics, "gonna start a revolution from my bed."
Indie rock, kinda. Some people call it Britpop. Don't Look Back in Anger is an anthem. They were just a really great band and last of a dying breed.. They have so many great songs it's ridiculous. Try Talk Tonight. It's acoustic and amazing.
Plenty of oasis records out there for you to hear. I think they're in the Guinness book of records for the most consecutive top 10 hits. People put them in the indie/alternative music. But oasis will tell you they're just a rock n roll band. Some of their early stuff might even be considered punk rock. They was basically the soundtrack to my life in the 90's.
Oasis cover soft rock, hard rock, rock and roll, indie and britpop. They had an 18-year career basically spanning the 90s and 00s and are arguably the most influential UK band of the last 30 or 40 years :) My recommendations for an intro to the band, as a guy who is from the same era and same part of the world as Oasis would be: Live Forever, Supersonic, Slide Away, Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Stand By Me. And if you like those it just gets better and better the deeper in you go ... :D
@@strangeexchange1 I agree - Rocking Chair is one of my absolute favourites. So is Stay Young, Fade Away and Listen Up. I didn't mention them as I was only talking about introductory songs. :)
Alternative was coined as a catchall phrase when Nirvana hit in 1991, and bands who previously would've been considered "College Rock" "Underground" or "Post Punk" were placed under the umbrella term Alternative, which, aside from Grunge, also encompassed Power Pop, Power Punk, Trip Hop, Lounge, Kindercore, Alt Country, Ska revival, Swing Revival etc.......and Brit Pop, which is what Oasis fell under. It was a term created as a way to market music that wasn't easily categorized or wouldn't fit the conventional pop music model.
Oasis were an English Britpop band which is a subgenre of Alternative Rock. Britpop was a movement created in response to Grunge during Grunge's peak of popularity. The goal of Britpop was to create the opposite to Grunge's more heavy and dark lyrics by creating songs that make you feel happy, with soft singing and instruments.
Noel wrote this about a girl he loved and she didnt want to be with a guy in a band that was about to blow up into huge fame. The entire album is about this and the band almost messing up their chances at fame and fortune. He is a genius with lyrics.
This song and Campagne Supernova gave me a lot of comfort (or at least spoke to me) after I suddenly lost my Father both from the loss itself, and some revelations and unanswered questions that came after his death. I still listen to remind myself that even when they'll NEVER be answers or anything resembling closure, we have to go on no matter how painful, and resolve to live the best we can ❤
Listen to Wonderwall ..was played at a recent funeral ..45 years old sudden stroke. .and this song just sounded so perfect ..the music alone felt so intense ..I had never really listened to it before then.

The rock songs are great like Rock and Roll Star, Slide Away, Columbia, Morning Glory, D'You Know What I Mean?, Shock of the Lightning, The Hindu Times etc. The themic songs like Don't Look Back in Anger, Falling Down, I'm Outta Time, Stop Crying Your Heart, Champagne Supernova, Live Forever, The Importance of being Idle are excellent.
Love the reaction, i grew up and was a teenager when Oasis came up in the 90's. Would be great to see you go down a rabbit-hole of their sound, the early albums are still revered in the UK now. IMO they would be classed as Brit Pop/Indie Rock
The Beatles and John Lennon, especially had an influence on Oasis, and Noel as the songwriter. Noel said that "So I start a revolution from my bed" is a reference to John Lennon's famous "bed-in" to promote peace. Also, he borrowed the line "the brains I had went to my head" from Lennon's tape-recorded notes for a memoir he was planning to write before his death.
This song came out in 1994 or 95, I think…I’ve always placed them in the Alternative Rock category… some other songs of theirs worth checking out are Champagne Supernova (official video), Live Forever, Rock n’ Roll Star, Morning Glory, Half a World Away, Go Let It Out, Lyla, Songbird, Supersonic, Cigarettes and Alcohol, and The Importance of Being Idle; to name a few…
Such a HUGE catalogue to look into to. There are their go-to songs: Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova... both awesome. But I love "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" - lots a great stuff.

Noel and Liam were big fans of the band The Stone Roses and Sally in the song refers to a song by The Stone Roses called Sally Cinnamon this song was a major factor in Noel wanting to form a band, the song and lyrics is his tribute to band that was probably the best band in the UK at that time, they inspired so my bands.

Their song "morning glory" has been my phone alarm every morning for years, it gets me so revved up and ready to go. Although I just found out the song was written about drug users throwing their lives away and they need to wake up and get it together, I never knew that as my interpretation for the song was simply the "wake up, get out, get life, don't throw your life away' part :).
Probably my favorite Oasis song and along with supersonic got me into them.. I'm a little curious though how you didn't know the song was not tangentially but rather transparently about drug abuse :-) "All your dreams are made, when you're chained to the mirror and the razor blade" Just sayin...

Oasis were the Beatles of the 90's especially in the UK. They had a couple of hits in the US but were way more popular in England. They were a great band and had tons of songs. Do react to Live Forever next.
This is definitely a song you have to a live version of because of the audience participation. What’s The Story Mornin Glory came out when I was a freshman in college. There were so many good artists at that time.
Interesting. For me who who grew up in 90's... as a grunge and 3rd wave punk kid oasis gave me vibes of the beatles poprock numbers and the feeling of old times in a new dress! You today say the same! So Noels singwriting was just outstanding! Timeless...
You guys have a lot to hear in their catalog. This was one that Noel sang, Liam is the main lead singer. If you liked this Noel sings another good one called Little by Little. Check out all their hits.
There are a ton if songs on their later albums that had they been out in the 90s when this music was "in" that would have been huge hits. Little by Little being one of them
Loving the channel, been listening to it all day. You two are a lot of fun and love all types of music. Growing up in the uk in the 90s , this band and this song meant everything. Check out a live version of this song. Noel hasn’t had to sing the whole thing for 20 years. The crowd do it for him.
My favorite band! I recommend their live performances, the vibe & connection with their audience is incredible. Please do Slide Away (live at Knebworth), Fade In Out (live at GMex) or Supersonic 🙏
the last song played at the end of my high school party before we all parted and moved into the real world, I remember the whole of the 5 grade (year) hugging and singing this...last song of the night, almost the anthem of our time together for 7 years together... long lasting memory! Oasis was classed as Brit rock/pop they was huge in the mid to late 90s... Oasis dont make bad tunes, Stand By Me is awesome!!!
Great Version too was at the Tribute Concert for the 22 Lives who dies at the Manchester Attack at the Ariana Grande Concert in 2017. Very Heartbroken! Video is on youtube too!
Oasis is my favorite band ever and the greatest band ever imo! Other songs y’all should check out are: Live Forever, Supersonic, Cigarettes & Alcohol, Bring It on Down, Slide Away, Don’t Go Away, Morning Glory, She’s Electric, & Cast No Shadow
They definitely rocked in the 90's. Iwould call them pop/rock. People here in the states thought they were the next beatles but the brothers couldn't stop fighting and the band broke up. I was definitely rockin to oasis back in the day
Im sure its been said but you can play this in any uk pub on a saturday night and the place would be signing along rocking. This is the 2nd national anthem
They were heavily influenced by The Beatles and often referred to them in various ways, like 'I'm gonna start a revolution from my bed' which is a direct reference to Lennon and their song 'Wonderwall' is a George Harrison album name. also Liam named his son Lennon. Great song.
Champagne supernova is one of my faves and so many others! When you get to know the music there life story adds to how amazing Oasis were and how crazy Liam was in the 90s! I would love it if you can watch Liam's funny moments or documenters on Oasis! Two working class brothers from tough backgrounds in North England who made it big!!!!
Oasis were absolutely massive in the 90s for good reason. Absolute Legends whose music still holds up. There are some live and live acoustic versions of this song with the entire crowd singing along that will give you chills
Here in the UK this was considered as Indie (I think because when they hit the big time they were signed to an independent record label) and Britpop of course, which I think in the US was classed as Alternative. You should check out Supersonic, Up In The Sky, and Champagne Supernova (they have many great songs to check out though).
You could easily find 70 plus songs over their entire catalogue that are brilliant. You Have to react to "Whats the story Morning Glory" next. The studio version of the song. Very very loud band in more ways than one!
I don't quite understand the fascination with genre of music, I grew up liking what I liked. I find alot of the reactors who are way younger than me seem to want to put everything in a box. However looking back different decades had different sounds which is somewhat interesting.
Every oasis song from 94 to 97 was a banger the b-sides were better than most bands a sides...theres round our way..talk tonight..whatever..the fame..flasbax ..bring it on down..there just b-sides check them out
This song became the anthem of solidarity in the wake of the Manchester Arena terrorist attack of May 22, 2017 at an Ariana Grande concert especially as the band Oasis were a Manchester band.
This song was spontaneously sung by the people at the memorial for the victims of the terrorist attack at Ariana Grandes concert at The Manchester Arena. A tragic yet beautiful moment 😢
This band is influenced by the Beatles but drew a lot of flack when the Gallagher brothers said "We are bigger than the Beatles". That said this whole album is a masterpiece.

Oasis were the Beatles of the 90's especially in the UK. They had a couple of hits in the US but were way more popular in England. They were a great band and had tons of songs. Do react to Live Forever next.
Oasis is the 90s. Being from the UK I grew up listening to them and whenever I hear them it resonates with me and takes me back to my childhood.
This is definitely a song you have to a live version of because of the audience participation. What’s The Story Mornin Glory came out when I was a freshman in college. There were so many good artists at that time.
They were regarded as one of the best bands in the 90s. And the song you just featured is known as the Oasis' anthem.
Little by little is one of my favourites. It just got me through such s rough part in my life. Will never forget it
@@himynameis3664 cheers!
There are a ton if songs on their later albums that had they been out in the 90s when this music was "in" that would have been huge hits. Little by Little being one of them
I remember travelling to an away football (soccer) match in 96 when I was about 12 and the whole team were singing this on the way home, good times
An epic OASIS song!!! Loving this❤️
You guys need to do SUEDE - one of the best bands ever to come out of the UK.
the last song played at the end of my high school party before we all parted and moved into the real world, I remember the whole of the 5 grade (year) hugging and singing this...last song of the night, almost the anthem of our time together for 7 years together... long lasting memory!
Great song.
Oasis are Brit pop / Indy rock legends. Definitely inspired by the Beatles. If you want harder Oasis check out Rock n Roll Star or Cig and alcohol.
Oasis is a rock and roll band, pure and simple. And hey, I was gonna say Rock and Roll Star as well. Or Supersonic.
Supersonic, morning glory, slide away, acquiesce, live forever there’s loads
You may want to hear one of Oasis's more "Heavy" songs, Columbia.
I grew up in Manchester in the 90s and these guys were kings! The soundtrack to my childhood
Isn't that amazing? So many deep cuts that didn't get attention thatcare brilliant
Wife here..Loved Oasis..You both are right..Could be Alternative, Progressive easily. You guys are always on point
A band that defined a generation in the UK, listen to everything, they are in the genre of Britpop
I don't quite understand the fascination with genre of music, I grew up liking what I liked. I find alot of the reactors who are way younger than me seem to want to put everything in a box. However looking back different decades had different sounds which is somewhat interesting.
What I love about rocknroll is those guitar solos
Every oasis song from 94 to 97 was a banger the b-sides were better than most bands a sides...theres round our way..talk tonight..whatever..the fame..flasbax ..bring it on down..there just b-sides check them out
This song became the anthem of solidarity in the wake of the Manchester Arena terrorist attack of May 22, 2017 at an Ariana Grande concert especially as the band Oasis were a Manchester band.
Such a nostalgic song for me. 15 and loving life, and friends.
Slide Away, Supersonic, Morning Glory are absolute bangers
Beautiful song....they are 90s rock BJ
My fave Oasis song. Like the Beatles references
Master plan ! It’s definitely a must.
They sound SO much like the Beatles in this song.
You should watch this live! The River Plate stadium one is great!
Beers in a pub in the 90’s, Don’t look back in anger (in unison) kebab! 💥 boom 😂 🇬🇧
Init
Amazing song. This brings back so many memories.
Two beautiful souls 💙❤
This song was spontaneously sung by the people at the memorial for the victims of the terrorist attack at Ariana Grandes concert at The Manchester Arena. A tragic yet beautiful moment 😢
This band is influenced by the Beatles but drew a lot of flack when the Gallagher brothers said "We are bigger than the Beatles". That said this whole album is a masterpiece.
From start to finish
Drop this song in a bar anywhere in England late on a Saturday night and I gaurantee everybody in the place will start singing it.
Oasis had so many great songs- their biggest hits were Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova, but they have other great.songs too- She's Electric, Married with Children (this one is funny), Live Forever- love to see some of these reacted to!
Oasis fit into any genre if music....they are that good
This song was released in 1995.
February 96 if memory serves me correctly (in the uk anyway). It was the last single to release off what's the story.
@@TheRetroManRandySavage. It was their 4th single release in 1996 of their second studio album, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory which was released in 1995.
@@timglennon6814 yes sir. I remember queuing up outside hmv for every one of them. Those were the days. 😂
So my favourite part of these reax vids is when Asian sings a few bars. Am I the only one out here who wants to see her sing some covers?
Oasis songs moves me
This was refreshing love oasis
definitely need to react to Champagne Supernova and Live Forever.
Asia & BJ, their "Champagne Supernova" is next for you!
