- On Thursday, May 25, 2023, the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, in collaboration with Action Cleanup Environmental Services, executed a comprehensive cleanup operation targeting the homeless encampment in Venice. The main objective was to address significant health and safety concerns for both the unhoused individuals and the general public. Sanitation workers, equipped with white hazardous materials suits, adhered to strict safety protocols throughout the cleanup.
During the operation, LAHSA (Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority) provided homeless outreach services to offer assistance and support to those affected. The decision to conduct the cleanup was prompted by the unhoused individuals utilizing restrooms as living quarters, posing potential health risks.
The cleanup involved two separate waste management teams working in collaboration. Action Cleanup Environmental Services took the initial step of sorting through the garbage to identify and collect hazardous waste items, such as batteries, urine, and syringes. Following their efforts, Los Angeles Public Works sanitation workers took over to collect the remaining garbage.
To ensure a secure environment, Los Angeles Police Officers were present throughout the cleanup operation. This weekly cleanup activity takes place every Thursday in Venice and aims to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the area.
While the cleanup of homeless encampments on Venice Boulevard contributes to public health and safety, it is crucial to acknowledge that it does not provide a long-term solution to the larger issue of homelessness. The City of Los Angeles is actively working on implementing comprehensive strategies to address the root causes of homelessness and provide essential resources and support to those in need.
The cleanup not only improves the condition of public spaces but also restores the intended use of restrooms. The City of Los Angeles remains dedicated to addressing homelessness in the area and will continue its efforts to find sustainable, long-term solutions.
Overall, the recent clean-up operation in Venice Boulevard marks a significant step forward in improving public health, safety, and the provision of necessary resources to unhoused individuals. The City of Los Angeles remains committed to its ongoing work in addressing homelessness and striving for lasting solutions.

Give that man with the bandana a raise!
I reckon he is a great worker. Give the man a raise
Guy with the bandana, You could clean the city up by yourself. You're a badass!
I wonder if he is single🥰
It is disgraceful people have to actually clean up after adults! Grown human beings!
These homeless want to be catered to, given everything but not give anything back in return.
@@thenotoriousgryyn342 you are correct. They do nothing. If they were sober and helped clean up the streets and did odd jobs for businesses or helped the community in some way their homelessness would be something others would try to rectify. But no, they are doing their best to destroy everything around them and the taxpayer has to be beholden to them. As you can see I am mighty😡
Kids clean up after themselves by 5 years old
Give this cleaning guys a big raise this guys are cleaning all that nasty
F them... Don't GAVE them anything.... It's there job.... DON'T FORGET THIS THE NEW FUTURE........... ...🤘😾🤘
@Helpme Knotts I appreciate your ignorance, sir.
Bandanna Man is one hard worker. Give that man a raise!
He sure is. Better than others that just stand there! 😊
Respect for the work ethic of the sanitation crewman in a bandana! 👍👍😎✌
Absolutely! The other guys dicking around taking pics and bagging crap along with the 4 cops standing around looking at their shoes not so much!
City/govt employees who clean up streets of litter, tents-encampments & remove graffiti are to the urban scene what nurses & doctors who resuscitate human lives are to the medical scene. Urban areas like LA have been reaching code red.
Thanks Bandana man for cleaning up the city we appreciate it!
The man with the bandanna works so hard. The other three aren’t doing anything but trying to look busy.
Это расизм
I wonder if the man with the bandana knows how much we like watching him work.
He works hard for his money pay rise
The fellow with the bandana: AWESOME WORK, SIR. THANK YOU !
Just throw ALL that stuff away, they had their chance to move it and themselves, now it's officially garbage, THROW IT ALL AWAY!!!!!
This looks more like room service
Bandana man needs to be the supervisor running his own crew! You are the man , Bandana man!
Either give that driver a huge raise or get him some help.
These People Don't Make Enough !! We The People Salute You !!! 😉👌🙏💯
One guy with bandanna doing all the work
These guys are making a difference!
I'm Thai and live in Thailand, I like to watch videos of this channel just a random reason. Huge respect to community members, police and you Fabian.
Your country cleaner than Crapfornia
One would think if they were more dillegent patrolling the area they could prevent the homeless from settling in the area in the first place.
Laws are in the favor of the transients
Its very2 good 👍⭐👋🌴🌻
The city worker in the bandana is my hero!
L'Homme au bandana est exceptionnel, bravo à ce grand travailleur, une augmentation de salaire pour Bandana, tres sérieux.
Forty years of paying taxes and never had the trash man come to my door to make sure I didnt have trash.
I guess that one guy is not authorized to pick up cans.
What’s the point of taking photos in documenting all that crap? If you leave your crap sitting on the sidewalk, then it’s been abandoned and it’s trash.
My man with the garbage truck!!
I love this guy!!
No time for BS, lovin his job 👍
Good job, hard work! Thank you for cleaning up this mess and keeping our public space clean a beautiful! 👍👏👏
Enough is enough. Time for all us taxpayers to take our city's back. My man right there in the beanie is single handedly cleaning up the city all by himself. Give this man a raise!!
stop voting for leftists, who wants to destory everything you got to build their uptopia, this fact has been known for over 100 years now.
Stop, not going to happen
The politicians need to bring jobs back , your city will come back, too!
@@ursulasmith6402
Это как? Свои места уступить безработным? Кто хочет работать везде найдет работу.
To take the cities back, all they gotta do is stop voting for left wing liberal DUMBOcrats.
That colured man with the vest who's doing the truck work does the best job. He is really motivated while the others are trying to get the shift done.
Colored? Damn racist much smh. I can tell you must be an old, middle of America, confederate flag raising mfka 🤣
I think they need more help with the loading of the stuff. That poor guy with the bandana has to drive the truck , load the truck and then clean up the area, whats with that? He definitely should be making more money than the rest of these guys for sure. OMG!
Clean up crew, 👊
Thanks Gavin!
In Thailand, we call people like the man with the bandana that "สู้ชีวิต" (Sou-shi-wit) It means that the person is more diligent and patient in doing things than other person. 😄
Just a shout out to all the city workers that help keep our city beautiful. ❤🌴
I’m trying to get my head around them picking through & photographing all that junk before they toss it, as if any of it has any value whatsoever..
They must be looking for razor blades and needles and stuff and maybe the photos are for some proof of something. Heart breaking. 😢
They don't want to get stuck with open needles. or sharps.
Liability!
Working hard cops
I've watched several videos now. I would need a 10ft pole to move any of the hazmat I've seen. No wonder I can never find a shopping cart at the store. Hats off to the same cleanup crew in all the videos.
Here in our place and whole of the country you cannot bring the trolley outside...if you bought huge amount of commodities you should return the push cart inside the mall....SOP and also the people here are not lazy.....good thing we live here where people has so much respect and obedient 🇸🇬
Ticket be these vans, campers . . . Dexterous about these vehicles are inevitably from its' occupants. 🤔
One man doing it all. Hard to watch how slow those other guys work.
Bless these folks who are out cleaning. Unpleasant, I'm sure, but I hope they get some satisfaction from seeing the results of their hard work.
Grocery Carts should be magnetized wherein wheels won't turn upon departure from store parking lot !
Call the store if you see an empty one in your city so they can pick it up before a street person steals it.
My great admiration to the cleaning crews, they're obviously doing God's work..
San Francisco and Sacramento need to do the same
So one guy picks it all up and the next guy puts it all back. okay. Very efficient.
Thank you ❤️😊
Cleaning is the solution to the problem.
Ole boy could use some help loading the compactor! He's the only one busting his ass! lol
There's just something so satisfying about watching that hungry garbage truck gobbling up all that mess! 🤣 😂
Kudos to this guy for apparently doing his job. Where’s his crew?
This man is just doing his job` dont think about it just do it~
Like he gets up in the morning and says "Today, I'm gonna clean the entire city by lunch time"❤
The big guy the strong guy he sure is one good looking black guy so handsome hes a hard worker thats why he's in good shape him being on utub all the women going to be after him. Thank's to all you men keeping our city clean i hope they help the man who sounded like he needs help please dont leave him back there without sending help for him .GOD BLESS YOU ALL GOOD JOB. HANDSOME THANKS AGAIN ❤❤❤
Govt should make arrangements for hopeless citizens.
In the name of cleaning encampment is unhunen policy.
It is not appreciated.
Cleaning is very essential
But destroying the personal goods is not appreciated.
I think they need to send all photos to the Mayor and the Governor to show what they clean up every day this is so sick these are grown up adults can help out keep things clean these people do not care they care is sleep and eat.
這架車應該停後一點,清潔工人辛苦拿那麽遠到達,戴頭巾哥哥值得我讚賞,只有一個人辛苦工作應該加更多人工
When the Bandana Man rolls up, pulls on those black gloves, then reaches for his black bin and rake, it's OVER. It's time to hit the road.
Seeing that Chevy Van just made me think of the song “ Chevy Van” great song. But that Van looks trashy. Bandana man doing 10 times more than the other workers! He had some good music playing in the truck.
super arbeit wieder
They just come to live in the street to leave a big mess they never clean their own mess so sad for the hard workers out there may God bless then all❤❤❤❤❤
Living the dream no rent no bills and a free home cleaning service has the world gone mad
Are you cracy? One man collecting the trash, 2 other many spreading the same trash and again a man collecting the same stuff and first man putting it into the car! WHAT? THE! HELL!
Ao rapaz de bandana meu respeito. Se é dez. 👏👏👏👏👏🤌🇧🇷
Why Downtown LA don't have weekly Cleaning? Is so so bad over here at Downtown LA
it's about time they started doing something about the clean-up this community needs. We can't all live in squaller, and it's a growing pandemic in our nation. For god's sake the higher Archy should take a note of this and once and for all realize that it's more than a mental issue. It has to be addressed right away before the problem becomes completely out of control.
Damn, even the trolley got crushed... I wasn't expecting that. That garbage truck is powerful.😱😨😅4:48
I want to know more about the little garbage truck. Is it electric?
why was the cart not returned to the store it belongs to?
Is Newsome watching these videos and does he even care??? Kudos to this hard working guy cleaning up the Newsome mess!!!
Mew super hero Bandana man
So sad please respect homeless he is people like us 😢
You have to earn respect...stop living like pigs
How did they get all that stuff into that small garbage truck?
It's a trash compacter on wheels.
But why do they have to sift through the trash? I’m not checking for nobody’s personal nothing, throw all that shit away
Black dude with the bandana should be making more money than the three fat cops especially the one leaning against his car thinking about his next donut break .
What?! Trash pick up !😂 i wish someone would knock on my door nicely for a trash pick up service .
At no cost!😂😂
AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL AGAIN.
We let this go for too long.
That the Homeless felt they were SAFE!
Does the City not have some sort of regulation against long-term parking, effectively turning parking spots into permanent camp sites? I'm thinking here of that big bus painted "Power to the People", and the nearby graffiti'd van. Those are likely where this trash is being generated, and unless those are dealt with, these clean-up guys are essentially just their personal garbage collectors, week after week.
The cleanup crew and police show up, ask homeless to move away, clean-up the place and leave. The homeless returns to the same place. Rinse and repeat. Same cycle repeating over and over again. Yet the headstrong city council keep promising this no enforcement policy would somehow fix the issue.
How long till they move back
Doesn't any stores want carts back. They are expensive
The city needs to put a stop to these tents. This is ridiculous!
Are these people coming back to this stuff, like its their home or do they just leave it?
Need more policing before they are able to set these camps up. The rest of worked hard to have a home ,stayed away from drugs and alcohol so we did not end up like this .
Look at all the people the homeless are keeping in a job
HS the city decided just to tidy up around the tented community now instead of moving them along ?
Hey man, is there a dispensery in the area? I'm gonna need to be stoned to see that.
Why doesn’t the guy just reverse his truck closer to the garbage and he wouldn’t have to drag it so far. 🤷🏻♀️
The city cannot remove homeless tents from the street?
Молодцы очищают города от всякого нанесенного мусора.
Why not back the truck up to the garbage?
Why is that same gigantic bus there week after week? We have laws about parking on streets. You can't store your vehicle on a public street.
job security for the city workers cause the homeless are'nt going away they may have to move from one spot but will end up at another ,kudo's to the one working, they need to do vehical compliance on those vehicals that people are living in any not up to code tow em to the salvage yard. my take on the whole issue is california is'nt ready to put foot to ass,so the problem will remain.
Why not recycle the metals and plastics?
Tear down the tents cause they won’t move!
Sir with the Cap and Tank Top...in order to talk to China...one has to get off the street...
Bandanaman makes the others look Lazy !!
Can you imagine the billions spent on clean up and man hours it would be so much easier to put them in jail
Why crush the purple 99 cents store cart ?
There are folks that drive around and return to store for a reward.
Yuck ! Not after what it has been through😢
Most stores sanitize them
The true American heroes: the women and men in the white protective suits. (for me.) 😔 /G-translated
25:00 Now we know where the bags stoles out of cars end up ....
Are they actually starting to do something about this out of control trash spreading in public places ? Nice to see this.
It would be one thing if this public space camping crowd would keep everything clean and even help cleaning up random trash, or apply themselves in some community fashion. They would have at least that respect.
Most create and leave such a mess.
