- Venice, Los Angeles - February 8, 2024. Along Rose Avenue in Venice, a coordinated initiative between the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works and Clean Harbors Environmental Inc. is underway, aimed at addressing the homeless encampment situation. This effort is part of the city's ongoing commitment to effectively manage homelessness and maintain high standards of public cleanliness and health.
Dressed in white hazardous materials suits, workers executed the cleanup operation with adherence to rigorous safety measures.
Prior to the operation, the city had disseminated notices informing the community of the impending cleanup and urging the removal of personal belongings from the designated areas. The notices clarified that items left behind would be collected by city personnel.
Homeless individuals were afforded a 15-minute period by Los Angeles Sanitation to move their belongings before the commencement of the cleanup. Law enforcement officers supported in relocating individuals from the cleanup areas, while sanitation workers handled the removal of unclaimed possessions.
The operation demonstrated a synchronized effort between the Department of Public Works and Clean Harbors Environmental Inc., with personnel donning yellow and orange vests respectively. Their primary focus was on differentiating hazardous from non-hazardous waste, guaranteeing a comprehensive cleanup.
The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) played a vital role in providing outreach services to the homeless population during the operation.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of all involved, especially the homeless community, was a priority for the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers concentrated on upholding cleanliness, hygiene, and safety protocols.
Notably, despite the enforcement of camping ordinances that limit certain activities in public areas, no citations were issued throughout the cleanup process. This initiative is part of a broader strategy by Los Angeles to confront the issue of homelessness, signifying a dual focus on immediate actions and the exploration of long-term solutions to address the underlying causes of homelessness and offer essential support to those affected.'

Whoa again and again it never ends at this same spot.
The homeless people who always leave garbage there should be obliged to put it in the garbage truck themselves. Otherwise they would never learn what cleanliness is.
The garbage is their belongings in this case. It's all they have.
Remember they do this every Thursday. That’s just one week to accumulate all that crap!!! (Literally and figuratively!)
It took me awhile to catch on to this spot after I subscribed. Weekly cleanup, but the detritus looks like weeks and weeks of grinding stank. Cleanup crew is cool.
If I was DoorDash, I think I would find a different location for those E-Bikes
I watch from Oregon and I have seen 5 Rose Ave. clean ups.The workers do such a great job and I love results but sheesh! Utterly understand the frustration residents have. The sheer volume of crap and the energy and time it takes to bring it there makes me mad at the people doing that it is time and energy they should be using to support themselves.Seems they are able bodied enough to trash this area they can work in a positive capacity. Its almost eco-terrorism.Still love these videos tho, thank you Fabian
You have no compassion and one day God will have no compassion for you
@@kirkslayden834I'm always wary of people who claim to speak for God.
You voted for it..... Enjoy it.
Hardest worker there is that female. Love watching you girl!
I should have invested in the tent and awning industry.
It's a filthy disgusting mess over there.
anyone who shops at the whole foods knows there is a rat problem and is feeding their family rat infested food.
How does telling them they have to leave but they can come back in the morning fix anything ?
It's all a worthless show.
Public property is not trespassing.
That’s right back up pack up keep moving love it. How are you doing Mr. Fabian and once again, thank you city of Long Beach. Maybe you can come over here and shoot some videos of the same thing if not thank you for what you are doing. Have a beautiful weekend.
I hope San Diego is doing this. The homeless tents are such an eye sore and smell horrible
I appreciate the ongoing education about things happening in LA. Thank you, kindly, from Charlotte, NC. I visit LA, twice a year.
You live in the Carolina's and you visit LA twice a year? ON PURPOSE????
@@user-qr2kh6uh6q he brings money here, crazier then the people on Rose Ave
57:27 - One hour later, damn.
I just beside myself what's happening with American country I share. Love North America
All the filthy stinking rich people sent all the jobs to China
And Biden doesn't care about this country neither look what he's done and he tries to blame Trump what a bunch of BS
It's not just the US. I live in Canada and it's getting pretty bad here too. Europe has its problems with homelessness.
Is homelessness the the root problem, or the effect of a bigger growing economic issue?
Where do they steal that CRAP from . . . ?
Here we go again. . . Cleaning up the avenue . . . . 😬
same thing every week. Why do the homeless have to collect and hoard all the trash? I don´t understand it.
Health Code violation ---> camping out front of Whole Foods !
how can the homeless accumulate so much rubbish in just one week!!!!!!.
"Its the Green Truck!" "Shit!"
Hard to believe they could accumulate that much trash in one week.
Who in the world wants to rent one of those bikes below these people around them. I would even want to touch those bikes
The landfill is cleaner than that street.
They clean this up every week?
Everyday. It is mandatory. The community in that area have a say in how clean their neighborhood should be. The addicts DO NOT.
This bucket boom operator is much easier on the hydraulics than last week's landfill relocator.
Soylent green.
The grocery store baskets should be returned to the stores. Those things are stolen...
why do the stores not press charges for stilling the store shopping carts?
You'd have to charge every street druggy within a 100 mile area
They just let it slide with all the low level offenders, and this does speed up the court system, But the problem is when there is no accountability, low level crimes turn soon to more serious ones.....
That's STEALING . . . . 😬
I'd be BOYCOTTING Whole Foods ! 🧐 😖 🤔
The ppl working to remove homeless ppl will be in there always)
Why did they leave a tent?
Grab stuff and go good bye
That lady works TWICE as hard as any of those ultra slow-pace guys…!
How do they accumulate so much junk in 6 ,days
What's the obsession with squatting in front of whole foods?
1) Convenient place to buy food
2) Great panhandling opportunities
3) Steal shelter materials (plastic crates) and shopping carts
@@htomc42And restrooms
they rob the place blind. you pay for it.
Sooooooooo GROSS. Some humans are so nasty
Newsom's California
I would start counting today, save time.
Don’t think this is what they mean by Keeping SoCal Chill. Just sad.
About time the dispensary I go to is down the street
Gavin Newsom's California. Companies in Oakland are recommending their employees not leave for lunch. That is the solution.
😂wiw sad these sanitize ppl workers feel for us low wages!
wake up Maggie!🙄
Everyday when I wake up and open my eyes I thank God for waking me up and waking me up in my own home where I am safe and warm🥺
My heart goes out to these poor homeless men and women😞😭
Does your heart go out to the guys that sell the drugs to these druggies? Druggies would rather take the drugs than have a nice, warm home and bed.
@@Meofcourse27wow you really have a heart and a soul don't you there's no jobs in this country anymore they all went to China did you see what Biden did he left the border open for thousands of pounds of fentanyl to come in and kill thousands upon thousands of people at least have some compassion
They are there by choice.
@@Meofcourse27They probably though this would never happen to them, the same as you. Drugs aren't always the cause. Be grateful for what you have.
So disgusting
i keep seeing rats in the whole foods.
nobody who watches cares anymore about constant cleanup....so please show where the homeless go & where the RV's are towed......
its not as fun without Daisy
this is ridiculous. The same spot withthe same cops every Friday. Are these cops being punished. They shpould do their job and arrest these vagrants. What a fnn waste of taxpayers money. Thos cops should be ashsmed to even wear the badge.
They are not allowed to arrest them. California is a liberal city, they call this compassion, they don't arrest for drug use in public, if you steal up to $950 it's only a misdemeanor no matter how many times you get caught. This area is nothing, skid row downtown is blocks and blocks of homeless .
Bring in the CLAW….it all goes to the landfill….! needs to be done twice a week…!
Disinfecting the sidewalks due to all the biohazards…!
