@@MrSteelehead You want to pay $200,000 a year to keep each homeless person in jail? Housing an inmate costs money and a lot of it. The US already has the highest incarcerated population per capita in the world. We have reached the saturation point in California with early release for minor offences. I worked for managers that believed in magic monkeys to replace workers. Magic monkeys don't need to be paid. They are magic.

People who are working are paying soooo much taxes in California, of course they deserve to walk on streets safe and they deserve clean streets . This homeless people do not want to stay in shelters and they hate rules. Arrest them if they don’t stay in shelters because they’re shameless and dangerous
The city of Coronado, California run by a Republican mayor does that. They have zero people living on the street. California became like this because of Democratic run cities and Gavin Newson, a Democrat.
It is common sense, taking private property is illegal (shopping carts), arrest them and put them to work cleaning the place up. You are not going to eliminate homelessness but you could reduce it by 50%. Push out the ones who are just lazy or want to sit around and do drugs. But the problem is too many people are resentful of those that are successful so they use the homeless as a foil to be permissive to, and then rub in the face of those that have worked hard and have success. The homeless, whenever they need anything just walk into a store and take it because they know that the police have been given a stand down order by the elected officials. What a great society we have...
@@richardmorris7063 Good question, a lot of people complain few give any solutions. Manage the situation: minimize how much they can have if they are on the street, if you have more take it away and make them work for a couple of days cleaning up garbage on the beach. Roust people out of their tents on the beach at 2 am. Give them a ticket if they have stolen shopping carts, the cost being manual labor. Make the shopping centers chain the shopping carts together and release with a coin deposit like they do in europe. Have a holding center to warehouse people for 5 days if they break the rules. If they are on the street no dogs take them and dispose of them. Have doctor and nurse crews doing rounds. Give people the mental medication they need. Don't allow back talk, people have to many righteous rights here so they are too comfortable, zero tolerance. If you steal anything 5 day work crew. This would reduce it by 50% which would be a lot more tolerable and fair.
Nice to see this place get cleaned up, but the sad truth is they will just move somewhere else. We need real solutions like getting the illegal drugs off our streets, providing real rehab services for these people and bringing back affordable housing.
The real solution is not to attract zombies to your city/state with handouts. They get more cash in handouts than I pay in rent, and I get $16 in SNAP(food stamps). They get $200: if they’re hungry, what are they doing with their EBT card?
Many of these people have skills: make them contribute towards their own tiny home and maybe they won’t trash it. Or is that against their “bodily autonomy “? wtf…
Remove their trash perhaps ! Set them up in parks camping grounds offer rehab for those that will accept ! Show them they are loved but don't keep tearing down the neighbor hoods because they are poor !
Our government has allowed this situation 😖🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 They closed so so many military bases why not use all that abundant empty land and empty housing and buildings for the homeless Help the mentally handicapped And the physical handicapped Bring in welfare Bring in a treatment center Bring in a hospital And a jail...for those who choose To be unstable and choose drugs No more excuses enough is enough Our government has got to help Those who are elderly to stay in there homes... Help those who need help financially Stay in there home's.... WE HAVE GOT TO MAKE THIS COUNTRY GREAT AGAIN 🇺🇸👍💞
The richest nation, people keep saying that, but really? the 1% hold much of th eprosperity of your country, and the average Joes are just as poor as people from third-world country, but at least they got a simple home, these people do not have the simplest human right to live. The economic system, the liberal capitalism, has failed, and people still refuse to accept that or do not know out of ignorance.
This is not a local problem. This is not a national problem. Homelessness occurs where opportunity dries up and it is occurring in every country that embraced the neo-liberal policy of the 1980's. 43 years and we are watching the end game right here. Reaganomics has become a world problem.
The homeless all need to dump their stuff in the garbage trucks and be given plane tickets to NYC. Adams has plenty of space for illegal immigrants. US citizens must come first. No street camping, tents - time is up Democrats. They had millions to fund the solution.
Most homeless don't want help with shelters, they refuse to follow rules, drug addiction causes this, there are no conservatership laws that place mentally unstable individuals bc liberals don't want change
I don't like seeing people upset but maybe with them being less comfortable trashing up our streets, they will get the point this isn't ok to do here. Do this more frequently.
bingo! sitting around smoking all day feeling sorry for themselves or blaming corporations or rich people aint helping. get out and do what those business owners and rich people did. get a push mower, weed eater, broom and squeegee and go knock on doors $60 a house. 6 a day gives you $350 after gas. work 6 days a week and make $2k a week. after a summer you can buy a rider and trailer and small used truck and start charging more doing nicer houses. get $100 a house then. people here paying $60 a house just for window washing a 1 story 1500ft house and $60 a mow. They could in years time get $100 a house for both and hire couple their buddies to work for them. but thats too much effort. they want someone else to struggle for them and work for free.

And the homeless are not helping themselves. Majority (maybe not all) are drug users and alcoholics. I have personally seen them shoot up and discard their needles on the ground with no caps on them. That is a health risk. I refuse to go to my local 7 11 anymore because they piss and s*** right on the ground and the stench makes you want to throw up. There needs to be stricter laws with the homeless.

They are literally sweeping the problem under the rug. But to be honest it was only a matter of time before the city's property owners forced the city to try to do something, anything. Because in many of these cities the homeless are turning $1 million properties into unsalable properties.

I am in agreement although that is a bit metaphorical. The issue is the elected officials that are voted in and given authority by the people, so in reality the people are responsible. As William Shaw said people get the politicians they deserve. If the people don't like what the politicians are doing they can always vote them out and get someone that will better suit their needs.
Does anyone know where they all get the really nice shoes? Someone must be donating them, but just wondering because everyone has on $100 pair of shoes.
Building is hard. Tearing down is easy. Cleaning up takes a lot of work. Filling up the streets with garbage and human feces takes no time at all. I am writing 10 days after this video was taken. I would love to see that the streets look like now. I will bet that by now it looks exactly the way it did before the cleanup, except, with fresher human feces of course.
Where are they moving to, a few blocks away? There was a relatively small tent encampment in a flat grass field off one of the freeways here in Dallas in between to commercial business. I saw about 20 tents as I drove by. Week or so later when I went by they were all gone and the grass field had been flooded at least a foot deep from what I could tell. It worked. I guess the businesses took it into their own hands.

Its hard to make a comment when your not in that situation. But if the city officials dont start somewhere then these parasites will increase in your part of town. This is rampant in every city now! My only question is WHY? Humanity is breaking down all around us and everyone is responsible.
They can clean up as much as they want to because in another month is the same thing. My heart goes out for these homeless people which they losing what ever they have. The problem is if they need some necessities, what happens next. More Crimes. They are spending most of the fundings from Fed on temporary and useless solutions. If not all, half of these people need housing which the only thing city of LA is doing is just talk. This is truly a state of an emergency, we need actions, Not Talk.
Yes, you are right. We need a permanent solution. They should build a number of Shelter Homes Communities and allow these people to live there under some supervision and find jobs to get their lives together. A place to stay is the most important thing. It will help at least 50% of the problems of these homeless people. Then the support, guidance, and encouragement from the Government, Corporate Sector, Private Citizens, and Volunteers will help them even more.
No matter how hard officials try, they are not going to stop progress. These energy and resource efficent camps are the future, soon the whole city will have a progressive population.
They shouldn’t notify them and just throw that shit away because all that’s happening is they are moving the stuff somewhere else! They are not getting anywhere with this!
Just not fair, they should be able to live on on street. The City is taking good care of them, cleaning up, feeding, free medical, clothing, everything a lazy Bum needs to stay a lazy Bum. I was watching an old episode of Chips, all filmed on location in Los Angeles in the the late 70s. No trash along the highway, no homeless living on the streets, Vince beach is pristine, no tags. It’s sick to see what the government has let happen.
It is always the same 5 or 6 cops, all of which have a couple of stripes. Who do you have to have pissed off to be permanently assigned to homeless cleanup baby sitting?
Seems like the homeless find their voice when being forced to move. It would be better for them to have a common area to allow this knowledge to be gathered in an intelligent manner. But I see also the plight of the residents on this community whose property is being lessened in the wholistic destructive depression of squatters. It's good to have everyone hands on during these clean ups because homeless depressed persons can escalate into manic behavior when their switch is thrown open and cause more problems.
@@Theworldisforent Understanding the difference is what homeless people are trying to get when they act out by malicious squatting behavior. Obviously the official's present are not available for counseling but to help organize the clean up.

"cleaning up" the streets is not solving the problem. it's just pushing it somewhere else. I realize it must be extremely frustrating for the neighbors living surrounded by all these homeless people, but there are also professionals among them that just can't find a job as being homeless prevents many of them of getting one. many of these people lost their homes due to divorce processes, bankruptcy during the pandemic etc...
Gavin Newsome should declare a "state of emergency' and tell Joe Biden instead of giving Ukraine $40 billion give it to California . They could build more shelters, mental hospitals and drug rehab centers. So far USA has given Ukraine about $120 billion , imagine how useful that would have been to places like California.
Thank you to the City of LA, public works, law enforcement and everyone who helping to do this. We are all tired of living with the danger, filth and crime that comes with addicts and mentally ill living on the streets with no accountability. We don't want our city to go down like SF and Portland. Most of us have worked hard to live here for a lifetime, and imagine those people in those apartments right there? We do need more treatment centers but many refuse to do the work required to stay sober so this is on them. Why would anyone get sober if we let them do this? No wonder addiction has sky rocketed. We do have homeless shelters and places for displaced seniors and families with kids. No one was put out during Covid either and that made this seem OK. This is not a planned scheme from rich people, this is reality we all have to work or contribute to live here. Let's try to be in reality people.
That was tense! I truly believe if your going to live in your van or RV at least keep it tidy outside. I feel very bad for the homeless, and other street dwellers but I also feel bad for the people living around there. How can anyone possibly go for a walk comfortably or walk your dog with that type of disorder? Then the city is also the jerks!~ How is just cleaning up going to help? HOW? All these guys are going to do is start right back again around the corner! Gee, that's smart city officials and worse.. THE STATE!~ The state is a bunch of lazy azes not doing anything to help this madness. I was a crack addict and how is handing a clean crack pipe with brillo going to help em? Stupid! Its interesting how the cops also just keep quiet and calm but wonder what they feel about all this? Are the cops unable to speak how they feel or are they also now censored? Any cops here? How do you feel about this?
I was homeless, and I wasn’t filthy. I didn’t sh*t in the streets. I didn’t set people’s cars, buildings, persons on fire. THATS how I feel about that.
Would it not be possible for city councils to set aside designated clean and safe areas for the homeless to set up camp. These could include sanitation, shower and laundry facilities etc.
The problem with this idea is you don't solve the problem you just relocate it. Throwing money at the problem has been the norm so far for large cities in California and all it does is make the people that are running the program dependant upon it in other words they don't want to fix the problem because it would mean they would be out of a job. There needs to be structure and accountability! the way the program is being run right now there really isn't no matter how well they think it's working, they are just managing homelessness not fixing the issue. Identify the types of homelessness, bad luck decisions, drug addiction, mental health issues etc... put into effect policies and procedures to correct and treat the underlying issues, execute those policies and procedures and hold the ones that have come up with said policies and procedures accountable.
These people are young. I got my first job at 13 and worked for 50 years. Even in today's high rent, there are places to live. The Internet is now full of people that are renting out rooms in there houses for as low as $400 a month. There is always an alternative. This should never be allowed in any city. City's need to not allow people to live on the streets. They either are housed, or they don't live in the city. In other words they have to leave. If they refuse they would be arrested. Any type of housing provided they would have to work to pay for. It's City started demanding that people work for their services or leave unless they have a place to live this would not continue. These people are all young and can work and there's no excuse for what they're doing. None.
The cost of this little operation would be absolutely mind-blowing and then would need to be multiplied thousands of times over before the problem would start to make change. These people need to be taken care of even if it means incarceration in managed homeless camps and a firm hand to get them back on track, no choice just compliance or jail.

You are right one pup. I am with you 100%. However, the majority of people in California believe it is wrong to incarcerate them or force them into any type of rehabilitation camp.
What homeless people don't realize is that they are creating filthy living conditions. Paper, all kinds of garbage, human waste, needles , shopping carts full of garbage. It is unhealthy to live in those conditions. And they are putting all of it in front of business and homes were people live. This is truly sad to see this in the United States . the magic fix would be all theses people getting jobs and living like normal people.
I've seen that on youtube that place is scary.
I'd just level it all and start all over. Plus that includes everyone that's the problem.

Theres a documentary on this about how all the recycling goes to the same place because there's not enough processing capacity at the recycle facilities.

That one guy on the skateboard is in almost every video moving all his useless junk from place to place. Acting all pissed off because he has to move. And those people in that trashed camper looking all pissed off. If I lived on that street I would be mad that they trashed the neighborhood!

The Billion Dollar Homeless Industrial Complex
God bless the workers.
Nice broad paint brush you have there.
Whats you're solution?
Wow that is different great to see them clean up ,Thank you la city works and police for your hard work 👮♀️👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👋

Please help them God through your almighty Power Amen 🙏
Well done be safe bless u all. Seeya

WE HAVE GOT TO MAKE THIS COUNTRY GREAT AGAIN 🇺🇸👍💞
This is quite sad indeed. It’s a shame that something like this has to happen within the richest nation in the world.😢
Its not sad it’s pathetic
The richest nation, people keep saying that, but really? the 1% hold much of th eprosperity of your country, and the average Joes are just as poor as people from third-world country, but at least they got a simple home, these people do not have the simplest human right to live. The economic system, the liberal capitalism, has failed, and people still refuse to accept that or do not know out of ignorance.
This happens when you have politicians "care" more about other countries' affairs than their own citizens'
Don't be sad, you have the best government to print more money to those in need!
This is not a local problem. This is not a national problem. Homelessness occurs where opportunity dries up and it is occurring in every country that embraced the neo-liberal policy of the 1980's. 43 years and we are watching the end game right here. Reaganomics has become a world problem.
They will just go back to the same place again & say a big thankyou to the city for cleaning all that shit up ! 😮 😠 😡
Why are they disposing those shopping carts? Why not call the store they were stolen from so they can come get them?
I agree, those carts are not cheap. Some stores now have carts if taken off of their lot will cause the wheels to lock up.
They are too FILTHY...I don't want to put my clothes in one or my food....
Would cost more money between transportation, locating the shopping store, and then cleaning and repair of the cards before they could be put in use
They do this everyday in Santa Ana and it's still not enough!
Where will these people go? Will anything be resolved?
The homeless all need to dump their stuff in the garbage trucks and be given plane tickets to NYC. Adams has plenty of space for illegal immigrants. US citizens must come first. No street camping, tents - time is up Democrats. They had millions to fund the solution.

bingo! sitting around smoking all day feeling sorry for themselves or blaming corporations or rich people aint helping. get out and do what those business owners and rich people did. get a push mower, weed eater, broom and squeegee and go knock on doors $60 a house.

You’re not addressing the problem of poverty and homelessness, you’re just pushing it along to another community.
Unfortunately in the state of California the politicians are democrats so they only take care of them selfs.
No we need to get rid of the politicians that have allowed this situation to be created

I can't believe they are actually enforcing these rules. Unbelievable.

I believe the owners of those shopping carts would like to have them back
They can clean up as much as they want to because in another month is the same thing.
The government needs to open some of the closed military bases, and at least provide some shelter
No matter how hard officials try, they are not going to stop progress. These energy and resource efficent camps are the future, soon the whole city will have a progressive population.
for once Walmart do some good to society by donating few thousands of carts for a thorough cleanup.

They shouldn’t notify them and just throw that shit away because all that’s happening is they are moving the stuff somewhere else! They are not getting anywhere with this!
You can tell there city workers cleaning up the camp(THANKS), one man working five standing around.

If you believe that your crazy it will be right back were it is in a few weeks.
None.
