Completely agree - I've been using Bestine for years. It has completely replaced Goo Gone in my restoration toolkit. I use it on sticker removal from plastic as well where I would have previously used GooGone (e.g. jewel cases, cover sleeve cases like DVDs, etc). Because I'm lazy and don't go to actual stores, I've found that the supply can be hit or miss on Amazon (for a period of about 6 months last year it was completely unavailable on Amazon), so I discovered that "Doc Edington's Rubber Cement Thinner & Adhesive Remover" is virtually the exact same as Bestine.
Great editing on this video. You demonstrated every pressure/duration/saturation I would want to see with great angles and commentary as well. Basically game collector porn. Love your channel
Great video. Very educational for anyone trying to restore old boxes, whether for toys, video games or movies, board games, or anything else. Also gives me hope for some very rare ancient posters I have. Thank you.
@@WHITEPERSUAS1ON LOL! I saw the thumbnail in the notification and thought auto-correct must have messed up your spelling of Bestine and now I see you were calling me out for that. ;) Thanks!
@@Cleretyx I have used it to clean up adhesive on manuals. I have also used it on multiple PC game boxes to remove large labels. Try it on a cheap worthless manual first.
I was debating on using a qtip, i was wondering if Cotton Balls, Q-Tips, Paper towels, leave micro-scratches on the seal. Or should i use a cloth or microfiber?
Yeah I think a lot of the friction in some tests in this video was just from a dry q-tip. Something like a microfiber cloth would be better, especially if you’re rubbing.
Looks like it works just fine with a new sticker.. I have stickers that have been on there for a decade and leave paper residue on the box. No idea how to work on that. Any advice?
This goo gone crap just ruined my mario kart 64 and mischief makers box!!! Yeah great stuff! Why is no one saying that this stuff will create a grease spot. White areas now have a yellow stain and yellow areas are Orange!!!! Seriously why is everyone recommending this crap!!! Never going to use this s#@t ever again!!!!!
I have gotten into arguments with many collectors about Goo Gone. No matter how much I try to bring this up, they get angry and start saying "well it worked and it looks fine." It's a weird defensive thing that I will never understand. Same issue I've had with people that use alcohol. Sometimes you can even see how some of the ink came off but they won't listen. So I've given up arguing with people. Sorry you got screwed.

Thank you.
Really appreciate the research. I’ve used goo gone a lot for reselling shoes but will def get Bestine for my games!!
Thank you for sharing! I've always been too afraid to try any cleaning on my boxes, lol.
I've been using Bedtime for years, primarily to remove marker from paper. While it doesn't dissolve most printed ink it does dissolve most marker ink.
Bedtime is great 😴😴😴

WHAT A GOD thank you for sharing and explaining the comparisons. Bye Bye Goo Gone. Oily, smelly residue that stays forever.
Any experience with the performance on Ps1 manuals or P2 cover art? For those awful old yellow GameStop stickers.
Did you ever try it on manuals or cover art? I’m wondering the same thing myself

Thank you for this! i gotta get some Bestine!

Can you use this on game cases like ps2 or Xbox 360?
Yes
Can you try this on a gamecube case artwork like the actual paper not the case that I only see online
I've used Bestine on GameCube artwork. Works fine. I've used it on instruction manuals too. Just be gentle so you don't remove any ink.
I use Un-Du and have the same results. Goo Gone is too oily.
Use alcohol to remove the too gone residue. Just a quick swipe.
Awesome stuff!
Been using this stuff for maybe 6 years Tyler. Ever since I saw wiggy the owner of rosecoloredgaming use it
No Amazon link?
amazing video
