I wish you would make more long form content with the shorts. channels like phoenix resell have proven there’s a market for this kind of content. Your production value is super high for someone who as posted as few videos as you have!
I think the dry erase marker method only works well on completely smooth plastic (like a Wii game case), I’m not surprised that it didn’t work well on a textured cartridge. My go-to is still rubbing alcohol and hand sanitizer, or a magic eraser for really tough spots. I don’t know of a cleaner that works well to get marker off of label stickers though
You should try using a slightly damp Magic Eraser. (I'd recommend buying a generic box from Dollar Tree.) They're very very lightly abrasive so they remove marker and dirt really well without damaging the plastic. They even work excellently on DVD based game cases (Wii particularly) for removing dirt and grime.
Great video! With the break cleaner it seems the fumes might be toxic. Definitely would use outside. Love that you said youd like to test on older marker from 20 years ago. I find the older it is the more set it is and thus tough to get off. You can try the dry erase with a magic eraser to wipe it clean but almost no pressure. I was surprised by the sun block!
Yeah! I have a lot of shorts that can give you more info. I would start out on Facebook Marketplace or garage sales. Make sure you comp them using eBay solds. You can start with $50 or less
I just did another test on the cartridge that's in the thumbnail with the sunscreen. It took it off like it was nothing. I'll probably post that short tomorrow
oof was about to grab a can of brake cleaner, glad i watched to the end of the video lol. looks like magic eraser is the way to go.. oh wait a second. hmm well uhh.. sunscreen then? wonder what SPF works best haha. going to try something besides rubbing alcohol (sort of worked but left discoloration) on this game that has had marker on it for around 30 years.
show us with something that has had a marker on it for years like we would find at a yard sale. I feel these test are not as genuine as one thats been on for a long time.
@@commoncentsflips4030 I've tried the alcohol, dry eraser, bestine and it never works as well as any of the videos. I have some rare cds where the sharpie has stained the disc paint, so no mater how much I do it still shows. Can most off of game cartridges but still visible in the right light or angle.

Thanks so much! Hopefully I can eventually make more. I mainly go shorts cuz it's easy and doesn't take so much time
Keep up the great work! 👍 I hope that at some point you can find the time to make more long form content.

Thanks! Once I find one that's really marked up, I'll test 😀
Shoutout to another Springfield based video game lover. Awesome collection dude. Great videos too.
Thanks!
Hairspray works on leather and some plastics !
I'll have to use that sun screen tactic on my Gameboy cartridges that's has some marker spots.
This just says science fair
Well, now I know what to do with that sunscreen from last summer.
I wonder how a cream sunscreen would compare to the aerosol version.
Good question, not sure
I always wanted to be able to flip games, any advice on how to get started

Ah, I'll have to try it! Maybe in a YT short vid but I'll add it to the list
