A friend in Chicago grew up eating Okonomiyaki and opened a small restaurant in 2006. She featured her version of the dish on her menu. I went in to try it when she first opened, loved it and began to go in a few times a week as a volunteer to do prep work to help get the business off the ground. !8 years later I am living in Shanghai and make Okonomiyaki on a regular basis for my Chinese step daughters and Chinese wife.

    Was that gluten-free soy sauce?

Thanks for your comment. I can't recall If I had any soy sauce at either restaurant, however both claim they are gluten free and vegan. I can tolerate moderate levels of soy sauce, so it did not really register with me. Maximo.

Was the Okonomiyaki dish egg free?

It was a vegan restaurant so I presume it was egg free. Maximo.
