I live in Osaka and wanted to thank you for introducing me to a couple of shops I’ve never been to, and I’ve been doing the rounds for over 20 years! Happy to see you had a great experience here.
So glad I stumbled upon these videos! My brother and I are planning out our first trip to Japan and I didn’t even think about the music shops there. Love the videos!
Hi, I live in Fukuoka, and I go to Osaka for work, so I often go to Second Street Ongakukan, Ishibashi, Miki Gakki, etc. Sometimes I make impulse purchases. A friend of mine once sold his '66 Jazzmaster on consignment at Guitar Licks. I'd like to go guitar hunting in various cities too! Have a good trip! With the guitars!
An Aussie and a Yank walk into a guitar store in Japan .... LOL. It certainly IS a small world. Thanks for the great videos. Cheers from the Land Down Under.
I understand that you need to buy guitars you can sell back home as in Fenders but some of the Japan hand made Bacchus, Edwards, History etc are awesome too
Thank you for this my man,I’ve been to Osaka last 2000’s and so different now from when I was there…I’m in Okinawa now and I hope you can feature the music stores here..cheers..
i feel like hiring a runner with a JR pass could have gotten u more guitars from Osaka to Tokyo. Something to think about for your next buying trip. Nice score
Gonna sit back watch whole video uninterrupted. Flash Flood Videos like a fine wine; let them age a day or two so you can appreciate them when you're ready. Then watch the Cleveland Baltimore game
It's funny to hear Floridians complain that Osaka is hot. I'm from Puerto Rico and I never experienced heat like Osaka in July and especially in August 2024. I lived all over the US south including FL, LA and NC. Like my kids tells our friends when they visit: Welcome to the soup!!! Otogura is my favorite small guitar shop in Osaka. I try to go every month because he always has something interesting. Glad to see it featured!
Stumbled across your channel as I'm trying to rekindle my guitar playing. Was in Osaka a couple of weeks ago and walked out with two Gibson Les Pauls from Ishibashi. Was checking out some of the shops you mentioned and when I'm back there in November I'll be paying them a visit for sure.
Great stuff! I just got a Squier Thinline Tele Fsr in Sherwood Green and it was the last one in my local shop! Some guy even came to buy it two hours later.
the exchange rates makes those trips very financially viable. Plus the instruments are well taken care of by Japanese in general. There was a sweet Gibson G3 in dark red...
Thanks for this. I'll be going to Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, and Tokyo in October, so it's haney to know some good spots. I'm hoping to get a nice ESP or Nsvigator. Getting it back to Canada will be the challenge. I've heard varying reports of success flying back with them, but shipping from another country sounds like it might be tricky.
You just missed out on my Gibson Explorer deal by a week or so. Osaka Ishibashi shipped to NZ in seven days. Mint condition apart from one tiny cloudy spot on the clear coat on the heel. About 40% the new retail price here in NZ. Maybe can get better used Gibson deals in the USA, but pretty good for here in NZ. It's not for flipping though. It's the guitar I've wanted since I was an 80s kid, but I always ended up buying other models. Chuffed :)
The solid red fernandez ken Strat is following you around...learning...adapting. Judging from how many of those are on reverb and / or Ishibashi...thismust have been a prominent Guitar...almost as if Larc en Ciel are famous or smth.
kind of a dumb question, but how does he turn a profit if he's buying at these retail shops and shipping them back to the u.s.? my experience at these shops is that the prices are generally higher than the same you can find in the u.s. (yes, even with the devalued yen at the moment).
Oh man thats the dream, running around Japan to guitar shops for a full day... When i finally get to go I'm sure my bank account will be much lighter afterwards!
@@aflashfloodofgear - Concur! Nagoya is amazing! The Deviser (Aska factory), Fujigen etc. guitar factories are located in Nagano prefecture which is worthy of visiting! Would love to to come to one of your gigs next time! Cheers
How much does it cost to ship a guitar from Japan to the US? Planning on going in march and would like to ship on back instead of taking it on the plane with me
Need help with identifying a couple of Japanese guitars I recently purchased. They are old. One is a bass guitar sg style the other one is a Telecaster style. I can send you some pictures of them. Please let me know. Thanks.
Its been nearly 10 years since I was last in Japan and I regret not buying that k.yairi.... need an excuse to go to Japan, scared my wallet couldnt handle it!
Love y’all’s videos, but you just showed shopping. I wish you souls show the actual guitars that you buy. Even show some negotiations on package deals. Looks like a fun trip though.
Sad Trogly is starting to buy and review the same guitars that Alex is buying. I hate when these people start using other RUclipsr's format when they are running out of content to share

Please bring back more hard-to-get pedals and Ibanez guitars on your next trip to Japan. Those shops look amazing!
Great video, I hope to see more amp hunting in the future. I enjoyed you coming across that great Orange amp.
Fender japan has a new FSR jazzmaster hybrid ii in a trans alder black with matching headstock. Looks so badass!

You ever run into any old 70’s BC Rich guitars. I know it isn’t your thing but I’ve heard Japan has a lot of them.
Great tour. Liked the look of the walnut jazz master you snagged too :)
Love these vids.. On the hunt for an LP at the moment and these vids are super inspiring!! Thanks guys!
So many guitars, so awesome! Great video
Where in Orlando has shops with fenders and Gibsons (lefty preferred)?
Great work my friends! Love from Tucson Az!

OMG that double bound pink telecaster... I'm in love. Was that a Fender?
吹田市の江坂にあるDolphin Guitarsもお薦めですよ。
リペアの腕も一流です。
I love the pedal world we live in now. An endless sea of knobs!
Guys, these videos are so good. I live in Northern Ireland and there are more guitar shops in Osaka than the whole of Ireland! I'm blown away.
That's wild! Would love to go to Ireland some day too
Yeah im from belfast northern ireland,im well jealous of the amount of guitar shops they have 😂
Guitar shops are a dying breed in the US,use to have a lot more when I was a kid, plus the economy and internet have taken down more main-street shops.
@GuitarDaze2023 Yeah, it's pretty sad . When you buy from a walk-in shop, you know when you're getting a good guitar, online is a risk you have to take.
Might have to day trip to Osaka!!!!
Hey what do the epiphone shinichi ubukata go for over there (new and used if you see any). I saw one in the miki gakki shop. Thanks.
Can’t wait to see the new Yamaha! Also nothing like getting Ibanez in Japan!
17:39 Yamaha SG spotted!
@@tomaslopez2940 Yessss 🙌

Take Off, isn't that a part of the Hard Off, Book Off, Mode Off, etc. chain store that buy & sell used goods?
I'd be scouring for pre-1985 Charvel/Jacksons... and a white Flying V copy. 😅

I want the cup cake pan guitar in the window.
wow......too many good guitars...
No Squier ‘51’s?!
Do that many people play guitar in Japan?
Burny/Fernandes VERTIGOES are great guitars
Unfortunately, Fernandes recently went bankrupt.
@@専夫 yes I had heard that they were having issues. If I win the lottery I will buy what's left.

Look how clean it is their compared to Americans cities😂😂
My favorite Japanese importers!!! Lol
need that overdrive mouse
Man, if you go to Japan to buy a guitar, you buy vintage acoustic sure surely
Is it just me... or are some of these guitars actually priced pretty reasonably? Seeing a lot of Gibson Les Paul Standards for $299,000 Yen = $2,100
Harley Benton #1
Haha!
You missed some!
Huh now I know why you go into a guitar store in America and there isn’t jack to choose from they’re all in Japan.
Don't let the haters hate- you're a pretty lady

Stop looking on the basses mayn 🤦♂️
How do you go to Japan and not go to Ibanez Plant. All you did was look at Garbage Fender.
Time to 'fess'up. You guys are just addicted to Japan.
Not shaming...the jealousy's just running a bit rampant right now.
