Welcome to town! I used to love to go to the Dallas Guitar Show. Can’t make it anymore for health reasons, but I recall the last time I went, I ended up sitting at a picnic table with Eric Johnson while we both enjoyed a quick lunch. I don’t think anyone knew who he was, or they were like me and didn’t want to whip his ass with fan-boy questions and babble. He did politely say hello. Have fun while you’re here and hope you find some killer deals! PS if you want a killer cheese burger in a cool dive country bar, go check out Adairs Saloon on Commerce in Deep Ellum. Has been one of my favorite bars for 40+ years. Cool place with cool people.
Loved this installment. I was fortunate enough to get to attend the Dallas Guitar Show back in the late 90s and it was awesome then but has become mind blowing now. I really flipped over the mid 90's Sea foam Green Charvel Surfcaster 12. Like that one a lot. Great show, great work. Get some rest.
Can‘t wait for the yokohama show. 9mm Parabellum Bullet are actually playing? That James Tussard was fancy. Been to the showroom in tokyo and their guitars are wild.
gear wise and watching this from germany: the feature of the beringer HP-AMP just made me a good laugh. 🤣 i love my Tokais and Aria 330 n 65`Vibrolux 2 x 10. rock on guys.
Hi! Flew in from Florida. i got there sat. awesome . found what I was looking for on Sunday. Surprised actually that it survived thursday! lol! All you dealers grab up all the great stuff! Am i wrong? Thanks for posting.
Surprised you didn't show the booth that had several $100k Martins, it was diagonal from the Jimmy Wallace booth. Also had some great vintage electrics, but the Martins were the standout.
Really enjoyed talking to you on the phone Alex. And hoping to meet you and the crew at a guitar show in the near future. Im definitely interested in that dynacomp too,
Love your videos. Also love seeing all the different guitars> Hope to do a trade with you someday. I have a 1976 Gibson Custom Tobaccoburst with a rare 2 piece top. Also a Gibson 74 1955 Reissue.
Im from Australia and damn i love your channel plz keep up the great work, Plz do a review of a Cole-Clark guitar plz As an Aussie id love to see you opinion of them Cheers
noticing the age of the attendees at these shows, and the current state of music stores in many parts of the country. it's an aging demographic. when I was kid and into my 30s, there were many people around my age, music stores were thriving, big box and mom n pop. the future of music gear is either online or bleak. Good luck!
Love the content! I just came across your channel and I'm loving it. I do have a question though......How do you find out where these kind of guitars shows are happening? I would love to go to one myself but I never hear about them till their over.
Just lean into it and order a container from a shipping company, pay the duties, and be done - put up a temporary annex "fresh finds from far east" or something but I feel people would really be hitting you up to not only grab stuff as soon as you get back but you could also charge a finder's percentage to bring back specific items.
Hey I just found your channel and I really enjoy your videos. How do I get a hold of you guys? I have some stuff that I want to sell or trade, I have a studio in the midwest and i'm always looking for things for the studio. Thanks
@@aflashfloodofgear Yes next time you’re in Houston, you should check out Fuller’s Guitar, Texas Music Emporium, Memorial Music, Infinity Guitars, and the Woodlands GC!
I see a GUITAR CRASH coming . Here is why I think that . The Baby Boomers are in their golden years and are selling their guitars . The 1950-60 guitars are still going to hold their value because of rarity and demand . But Baby Boomers did buy newer stuff and it's about to hit the market . Gen X are the last generation to grow up during a time when guitar driven music was on the charts . Thing is early Gen Xers are reaching retirement age . With the cost of living so high , I don't see them holding on to the guitars of their youth . 70's & 80's guitars IMO are going to slowly decrease in value . Millennials are not into guitars as much as Baby Boomers & Gen Xers . Gen Z are not into guitars . Do you see a bunch of young 18-23 year olds at this show ? If this was 1974 , 84 or 94 you would see a lot of them . Plus guitar manufacturers have been pumping out guitars since the 2000's . All the people who wanted to learn during covid are selling . Gibson & Marshall have lowered their prices . It's coming . IMO this show is just dealers selling to dealers who will sell the guitars to resellers who will sell the guitars back to a dealer LOL .
💯!!! I’m not sure the crash will be as big. Maybe for ‘80-‘00s but newer guitars will likely stay expensive. They will slow production before prices. I’m sure there will be some sales here and there but overall I don’t see quality equipment doing anything but go up price. But I wish prices would not only go down but the budget brands (epiphone, squire etc) would get nicer.
Still surprised that everyone is behind Fender and Gibson. I mean in the video we saw probably 5000 Gibsons and 5000 Fender….a bit boring IMO. But hey, if people like it, great!
No longer a must attend for me. I was there all weekend and it was pretty ill attended. The show has steadily declined over the years - 10 years ago you could barely move in the place. There were a lot of great players again this year and if there were 50 people in the audience at some of the shows you were lucky. And the usual ridiculous dealer asking prices of course. I know a few dealers that went home with pretty much everything they brought.
...... Here's how it works (after you get fleeced for parking & admission $40-60 bucks?)......They bring guitars - You bring cash (& lots of it). Go home with buyer's remorse.
Well that's certainly a depressing way to look at it. General admission was $30 for one day and up to $70 for all 3. Students get discounts and kids under 10 are free. Even includes the night time concerts. PLUS FREE PARKING. There are TONS of guitars that do not cost an arm and a leg or effects pedals or amps etc. All kinds of deals to be had for buyers and sellers alike. The Dallas show in particular also has speakers and performances by various artists and industry people. Plus you get an opportunity to be up close and even play some high end vintage guitars. Bring an old pedal or something and sell it to a dealer to cover your entry cost...
We have become so brainwashed to spend the kind of money we do for wood. The greatest guitar on earth should only be 100 dollars. And they would still make a profit.
For a guitar show these prices I see are just ridiculous! I'm 51 and I rember when I was younger you went to guitar shows because that's where you got killer deals...boy have times changed!! Plus we're in (headed) a recession...its a buyers market, not in Houston lol
I need a 3 hour version of these videos. No matter how long the videos are, it’s just not enough. Great channel and I hope you guys continue to grow.
We appreciate that! Thank you so much!!
Y’all should go to the Dallas Show every year- it’s massive!
@@hubridgell4511 so far we've been 3 years in a row!

I enjoy watching your show recap more than I actually enjoy going to the show. Couldn’t make it this year.
Heck yeah... ya love to see it!
That also looks like Ally Venable with Jimmy Wallace, shes awesome.
I loved the Gibson ES 339. I would have liked to see a few more seconds of that ax. 😊

The "I'm mean if you need a job..your a hell of a salesman" comment went right over his head 😂
Super cool meeting you there! Excited to watch this video, I’ve been waiting all week since the show for these Dallas videos to come out!

Really enjoyed your coverage of the Dallas guitar show. So many interesting guitars. My favorite? The sunburst Brinson Guitars telecaster. Beautiful!
Cheers you guys, saw my buddy Bill on the vid, a real good show again .
Great watch. So many cool guitars.
The stock Fender HumTee in the bridge was SWEET. Would be all over that one!🇬🇧🎸🎃🍁🎄👻♥️🕊️❤️
You should even show you guys getting something to eat and talking about stuff together.
People seem over a phone in their face. Nice guitars, yay guitars.

We were so close on making that deal with the Miris J! Was really eyeing that double cut junior. Such a killer guitar.
Surprised you didn't show the booth that had several $100k Martins, it was diagonal from the Jimmy Wallace booth. Also had some great vintage electrics, but the Martins were the standout.

Alex: You should try a Lampifier 571 Infinite D.I box .
They're friggin awesome
Keep up the vids you guys! Love it! Question, what is the definitive difference between a fresh find and a cool find? 🙂
Really liked the blue les paul.

i used to dislike novo but it kinda grew on me lately, but the best looking guitar in the entire video is the pink brinson tele and the night hawk

ESP George Lynch not the craziest guitars on the market or hype but i love them!!
I wonder where they keep the Left handed guitar ??
I think there was a bigger wall, maybe it was the Hard Rock hall of fame? The division Bell, uh?! Namastè.

3:30 Ovation Magnum sighting! noice

“Cowboys usually eat nachos…” 😂😂
Alex looking like he's having an existential crisis about being called old for growing up on guitar hero 😂
Please tell me y’all went guitar hunting around Houston! We have a ton of great stores in the area!

Do these shows ever come to the New York metro area?
Was that the guitoligist's hard tail strat?
So many guitars.. So little time... (and money...lol)
Was that guy with the vintage Strat saying 25 as in $25k? Wow 😅
Big Hair Nation...the 3 romans on the end...and the Eastman...
This seems way less busy than the other shows you attend
Is that hardtail from guitaligist
