The DAD isn't a hard opt. You can loop it twice, first by linking it off with masq into dyna mondo, and then by tributing it with the new trap after it banished a drytron for cost and immediately ritual summoning it again (you'd need one additional material cause the trap only recurs 2, but you can just use a spent mu beta). Pretty sure the Drytron stuff is actually pretty good under the assumption you don't get Drolled. You can get the new ritual out by 5 summons to not get nibbed and people seem to forget Fafnir actually has an effect on field. Ideally you end on what? Fafnir+new ritual+trap+a random link like S:P or Apo? That's a S/T negate, whatever link you end on, and then upwards of 4 monster negates from the ritual since you simply use the trap to refill your hand and summon ANOTHER of the new guy since he is soft twice per turn.
YES WHY ISN'T ANYBODY REALISING THAT YOU CAN JUST LOOP THE DAD!! You can also loop it a third time if you want to buy linking it off with masq into dyna mondo and then immediately reborning it
@@riccardomartina9517 Everyone genuinely ignores Dyna Mondo at any opportunity just because it’s ritual support. The card is insane and honestly might be a better link than S:P to get off I:P in some circumstances
The new drytrons can end on Appo 3(monster negates), The new Ritual(2 monster negates) the Drytron XYZ(with material for a Spell/trap negate) & I:P(to go into S:P) while also having the counter trap(monster summon negate) to back it up. People are sleeping on Ultimate Flagship Ursatron, Ursartic Drytron, & Ultimate Bright Knight Ursatron Alpha(spell/trap searcher).
Yeah, all the new lists I've seen just don't play the level 7. It's literally just a free extender that can search Nova, the trap, Meteonis, literally anything you need all for free
Me who actually runs an actual Drytron build (with a fairy engine for protection, but now we have DAD for that). Also the 4k atk rituals have some really solid protection when DAD is out.
I think some people are analyzing Ancient Gear Dragon incorrectly. It's honestly moreso just meant for an Ancient Gear deck than the EARTH Machine pile, but its not really good in that either. The card is kind of confused. Going first the only Spell/Trap you're looking to negate is an Imperm, but Ancient Gear is a going second deck. One Spell/Trap negate isnt gonna change that So from that perspective, what are your options going second? Hope you open this one of so you can normal it after using Catapult, which doesn't seem reliable. Or use your Catapult summon on this, which is a waste. You need to open like Geartown and Wyvern together for this card to become remotely worth considering. But, not that reliable. And opening him sucks ass because let's say you normal this guy first, well then Catapult has been turned off. But if you wait, well your opponent has likely already interrupted you and Dragon's negate no longer serves a purpose I just don't see a point in this Also the Fiendsmith trap is nuts. You can wipe the board, and the later get rid of another card with the banish effect and sending thr big fusion to grave
The funny thing is he’s right that it’s bad, but he’s wrong about why. It’s not bad because you cant splash it in earth machine, it’s not meant for that. Earth machine is irrelevant, it’s like the 20th best combo pile deck. It’s bad because even though Ancient Gears can bring it out easily without worrying about the summon restriction, they have better to things to do with that. Dark Golem is the power card of the deck now, there’s no reason to waste a Catapult or a Tanker on this unless you already have a way to get Dark Golem. At best you’ll use Commander’s extra normal summon to bring it out, but that’s too late for its effect to be useful. And it’s still 500 attack- it should have been 500 defence if they wanted it to work with box.
Dark Golem has no special summon restriction. You summon it off popping Geartown. The fact that this thing bas the restriction and Dark Golem does not is legitimately very funny.
@@aguilarraliuga1777Bro Yugioh is massive in Japan, we get the references to Shintoism if you're at least semi paying attention when you go to pray at a shrine
MBT completely glossing over the fact that AG has multiple "ignore summoning conditiom" cards as well as it being an AG box target is a bit of a letdown. Oh well, maybe a lithium video will get him to re evaluate it
I've been playing Ancient Gears for a looooong time and I think Dragon is niche. Seems like it's meant to shore up AG's fatal allergy to going first, which is nice, but I don't think it's good enough. I'd use it as sideboard tech, maybe.
Okay so people keep saying this, but actually the vast majority of those "ignoring conditions" cards SPECIFICALLY state Ancient Gear Golem (or the fusion that fetches the other fusion). Like, Gear Frame *Cannot* get you this card, or any of the other things we associate with AG The only Ancient gear cards in the entire archetype that could summon this card ignoring its conditions are: - Ancient Gear Howitzer Dragon can summon this... if it's destroyed by battle - Ancient Gear Catapult can summon this if you control no monsters and you destroy one other card you control (so a continuous or Geartown, which we somehow searched without summoning a monster) - One of the other new-ish supports Ancient Gear Tanker on summon can summon an Ancient Gear from *hand* Really, there's no real way to work this into plays, and it's not worth it if you do, because it doesn't extend you at all. So like, I can summon it if I look for it, but that's the end of my turn unless I drew another "combo" as well. There's probably some convoluted line where you search this while summoning tanker to run it out of hand, but like Congrats, I ended on one backrow negate.
@@Rojo9149 >Ancient Gear Catapult can summon this if you control no monsters and you destroy one other card you control (so a continuous or Geartown, which we somehow searched without summoning a monster) You can Normal Wyvern, search Advance, Activate Advance and search Catapult. use the other effect of Advance to tribute Wyvern to draw a card, activate Catapult The problem comes after, because you're not summoning Dragon off of Catapult over Dark Golem
@@Rojo9149Catapult and Tanker are good enough. All your cards that don't ignore summoning conditions like Geartown are grabbing Dark Golem anyway, so whatever. Yu-Gi-Oh players: Konami makes archetypes too generic, for example Meteonis Drytron can summon any ritual monster, this is a design mistake. Also Yu-Gi-Oh players: The new Drytron cards lock you into Machine Rituals, they are unplayable. (I know both groups are probably different (some people will complain about everything) but the point is it doesn't matter what Konami does, players will never be happy).
That’s what I really enjoyed about Drytron and found cool is how it cheats the mechanic. I like these new cards but the lock is just a bit disappointing.
That fiendsmith archtype instantly reminds me of dmc. Surprised nobody is saying that yet. Isn't the archetype just dante and his devil arms? If you played dmc it also has a ton of religious reference
A bit late on this but the new drytron cards (not the trap) are crazy. Nu2 makes the deck easily play through handtraps and gives you several one cards. The boss is soft twice per turn and is easy to loop with i:p into dyna mondo which you can make with one card. Been playtesting it for a bit and its really fun
>Website is literally just giving contextual information on the naming conventions of the Catholicism-inspired new archetype, just like what they do with all new cards >Joseph: makes fun of it for no apparent reason I have no clue why he was being so weird about this, it was painful to watch.
The Fiendsmith is really just Devil May Cry, a Capcom game inspired archetype. If you have played the game, you have a demon hunter that uses various weapons made from Demons and uses them in combat. In the game, when Dante, the MC, uses his devil form with those weapons, he fuses a bit with the weapon, making him look like a combination of his Devil form and the weapon he is using. Though most of the time, he doesn't really fuse too much with the weapons, but with his father's weapon Sparda, his demon form completely changes to a unique devil form. When you look at the archetype, Dante is reimagined as the Fiendsmith, the only main deck monster for the archetype, which funny enough is a light monster, to represent that he is a devil that is a good guy. The link 1 monster is the unreleased box that holds the fiend weapons, similarly like Pandora's Box in DMC4. When the box is opened, the Link 2, which seems to unleash all the fiends the Fiendsmith had defeated and made into weapons, which enables the fusions for this archetype. All the fusions are him fusing into the fiend weapons to become stronger just like Dante in the games.
Spells like Tractus and Ground Xeno that Fusion Summon as a graveyard effect the same turn you use their "front" half are pretty crazy card design. I like it.
I love how drytron has a history of just being degeneracy turbo. During their heyday it was just 6 omni-negate herald, then eva got hit, then it felt like people weren't even willing to experiment with anything else and they fell off the face of the earth. Now people are trying to turbo out amorphactor pain and turn skips???? Lmao God forbid we try any of the existing other ritual archetypes if it doesn't have a floodgate to sit on
I'm surprised Drytron doesn't have a in archetype limiter removal, because that would be wild both for combo plays (the rituals get very free) and killing people.
I'm not Catholic, but I'm Christian. I think it's cool that we're getting a Catholic archetype. Now if only Konami had the balls to release 'Link 8 Jesus of Nazareth'.
With Nu, I can say this thing is amazing for extension. Also makes the Field Spell/Nova into 1 Card Combo if uninterrupted, since Fafnir add Nova, Nova Summon Nu from Deck, Nu add whatever Drytron you need (usually Alpha or Zeta), use the added Drytron to Tribute Nu to summon themselves, and Nu can come back again via it's own effect. You could even then XYZ Mu Beta Fafnir to make sure Nu doesn't Banish itself. (The lock is troublesome though since means basically just Drytrons, but I understand that Konami doesn't trust us after Herald Drytron was born)
It's a 1 card DAD (you search Alpha with Nu, Alpha searches DAD, Mu Beta foolishes Meteonis, You return Meteonis to hand and activate it to summon DAD by tributing the whole Mu Beta)
What konami has actually given us are cards that are reaally good at making beatrice the guy himself is a 1 card beatrice without using your normal at the cost of the attack lock of the token You can access a different line to beatrice via making the fusion using any light fiend + any 1 guy at the cost of 4 extra deck slots and playing the smith as a hard garnet the archetype good at doing that is live twin but with the underworld goddess link 2 is coming before this does theoretically any deck and access that line with any 3 link material With beatrice being better than its ever been with transaction rollback im very curious to see if this archetype can actually bring beatrice to its limit
just because of Caesar, Fiendsmith might be worth running in any deck that loses to nibiru, just run the bare minimum 7 card main deck and 2 card extra deck engine, there are no garnets since even Lurrie can be used with any discard...or even normal summon it if you reaaaaally need to
@@aerenntyne1099 Think about how many non-engine are required to play this format for example. Plenty of decks could find the room to play a 4 card engine, 2 spare ED slots and still play 12-15 non-engine especially for such a strong payoff. Granted I think the format will creep down in power pretty significantly when these cards release so maybe going below 12 non-engine in 40 will be possible again.

People running drytron can still run the new support and jank crap like pain, Nu 2 only locks you out of ritual summoning non machines on *your* turn Meaning you can still go into dyna mondo and just summon pain on your opponents turn as soon as it starts. Plus fairy shenanigans will still be strong at least in terms of resources, since its not like you still cant tribute benten from the hand and get other stuff rolling. I run a herald/drytron with diviner as a solid synchro package, get diviner, pop either a n'tiss or an arc light depending on board state, get her to level 6 and use a chaos valk to go into Baron. Its not meta by any means but it packs a punch when it needs to.
You can just use the fiendsmiths as a splashable engine in anything for a one card combo that ends on caesar or Beatrice on the 5th summon The engine itself can be as small as 4 cards in main and 1 in extra
I love drytron the artwork is cool and you get summon a bunch of silly ritual monsters, the new cards look cool i just wish their more in archtype ritual monsters for drytron
Every time I see this deck, I think up new things. Like, the obvious things are musketeer and fabled synergy. It's a small main deck engine that can get you rank 6. The quick play is just hornet drones with its own link 1. Live twins might work, and we may be getting live twin support soon. I was interested in the art, but it seems good enough that it'll get played, and thus rarity bumped.
All I'm saying about the drytron support is that it is unfortunate. In a vacuum drytron is an incredibly interesting take on a ritual engine, that turns the mechanic on it's head by using ATK values as tributes and facilitating nearly any ritual monster due to it's completely generic ritual spell. Now of course players don't just do Skull guardian turbo, but inevitably do the most powerful thing this archetype could facilitate it lead to some very silly things this First multi-omni herald then turn skips. When giving the archetype support the question is how do you make the support good without restricting the archetypes freedom and it seems Konami settled on 'you don't' and gave it a machine ritual lock. As Joseph pointed out now you either do the old drytron which is pretty subpar at this point or play the new support which is restrictive. I understand why the support has been made the way is and it certainly is good it's just unfortunate that it had to come at the cost of a lock
Quite ironic that these fiendsmith cards should be announced while Shogun is currently out on Disney plus talking about how the catholics tried to convert Japan 😂
been a little out of it in terms of yugioh but this deck makes me really want to get back in again, like musket plus fiendsmith, like it may be boring to some or most, but I love this decks art and muskets so bad
Drytron in MD has Eva and Benten and it’s still not enough. So, the deck could really use a new perspective. But I don’t think this 3 cards are enough. It’s still suffers from not enough space for handtraps, vulnerability to them and inexistant going 2nd power. I don’t see these cards fixing that. What about a drytron link monster which gains attack each time you tribute something. It helps turn 1 to tribute and could be use going 2nd to beat over stuff.
They had a solid going second gameplan before with cyber angel natasha being the premier ritual to summon to eat an entire board, provided ofcourse you opened sufficient board breakers to back that up.

At first I thought Fiendsmith’s were Mozart references (Lacrimosa and Requiem were the first cards I saw) and then got confused when I got to Dies Irae.
I thought Dies Irae was a sequence in Requiem? Maybe I'm a big dumb head but I'm confused why you're confused?
Currently have this archetype built with Fabled & Chimera. They already have great synergy, so the crossover with them and Fiendsmith is incredible. Also, honorable mention to Magnum the Reliever.
MBT asking if there are Japanese Westaboos about Catholicism when Evangeleon has existed for decades
"Westaboos" is a dope term
The new drytrons can end on
Appo 3(monster negates), The new Ritual(2 monster negates) the Drytron XYZ(with material for a Spell/trap negate) & I:P(to go into S:P) while also having the counter trap(monster summon negate) to back it up.
R3tards are busy building around amorphactor and chaos max lmao
Drytron has always ended on an FTK. The issue was lack of non engine and brickiness.
Ursarctic Drytron is one of the jankiest cards ever printed tbh.
The problem with bright knight is half your search spells just can’t get it because it’s not a light
And then there’s me, who plays Drytron in a lower power level pure archetypes only format with my small group of friends. I love these cards.
Me who actually runs an actual Drytron build (with a fairy engine for protection, but now we have DAD for that). Also the 4k atk rituals have some really solid protection when DAD is out.
7:50 ok martin luther
fiendsmith is the mozart archtype i love it
The fiendsmith is more of a reference to a game known as gungrave, nobody knows unless they played it
Fiendsmith feels like they're referencing the Demon Forgemaster characters from that one psudo-RPG 3D Castlevania Game.
Curse of Darkness? I wouldn't be surprised considering how often Yu-Gi-Oh manages to reference Castlevania without mentioning Castlevania.
No MBT, Exosisters released ages ago
I think some people are analyzing Ancient Gear Dragon incorrectly. It's honestly moreso just meant for an Ancient Gear deck than the EARTH Machine pile, but its not really good in that either.
The card is kind of confused. Going first the only Spell/Trap you're looking to negate is an Imperm, but Ancient Gear is a going second deck. One Spell/Trap negate isnt gonna change that
So from that perspective, what are your options going second? Hope you open this one of so you can normal it after using Catapult, which doesn't seem reliable. Or use your Catapult summon on this, which is a waste. You need to open like Geartown and Wyvern together for this card to become remotely worth considering. But, not that reliable.
And opening him sucks ass because let's say you normal this guy first, well then Catapult has been turned off. But if you wait, well your opponent has likely already interrupted you and Dragon's negate no longer serves a purpose
I just don't see a point in this
Also the Fiendsmith trap is nuts.

Like, Gear Frame *Cannot* get you this card, or any of the other things we associate with AG
The only Ancient gear cards in the entire archetype that could summon this card ignoring its conditions are:
- Ancient Gear Howitzer Dragon can summon this... if it's destroyed by battle
- Ancient Gear Catapult can summon this if you control no monsters and you destroy one other card you control (so a continuous or Geartown, which we somehow searched without summoning a monster)
- One of the other new-ish supports Ancient Gear Tanker on summon can summon an Ancient Gear from *hand*
Really, there's no real way to work this into plays, and it's not worth it if you do, because it doesn't extend you at all. So like, I can summon it if I look for it, but that's the end of my turn unless I drew another "combo" as well. There's probably some convoluted line where you search this while summoning tanker to run it out of hand, but like
Congrats, I ended on one backrow negate.
@@Rojo9149 >Ancient Gear Catapult can summon this if you control no monsters and you destroy one other card you control (so a continuous or Geartown, which we somehow searched without summoning a monster)
You can Normal Wyvern, search Advance, Activate Advance and search Catapult. use the other effect of Advance to tribute Wyvern to draw a card, activate Catapult
The problem comes after, because you're not summoning Dragon off of Catapult over Dark Golem
@@Rojo9149Catapult and Tanker are good enough. All your cards that don't ignore summoning conditions like Geartown are grabbing Dark Golem anyway, so whatever. And who gives a shit about the EARTH Machine pile? lmao get fucked peeps. Its not fixing any fundamental issues with Ancient Gear, but its a spell/trap negate, but its not awful.
As someone who grew up in a church of england school i find catholicism metal as shit in the right context. i love this.
Dragon is INSANE... In Ancient Gear. It does literally everything for that deck. Catapult target, Box target, that deck can already get extra normals, and if your opponent has to go to battle to run over it, *_You're Ancient Gear, you win_*
The problem with Meteonis is that it summons anything using ATK while Rituals are balanced based on Levels.
That’s what I really enjoyed about Drytron and found cool is how it cheats the mechanic. I like these new cards but the lock is just a bit disappointing.
Fiend smith looks like it’ll be a really fun engine to jam into every Light Fiend deck.
That fiendsmith archtype instantly reminds me of dmc. Surprised nobody is saying that yet. Isn't the archetype just dante and his devil arms? If you played dmc it also has a ton of religious reference
That's funny, because all I've been hearing are DMC comparisons
A bit late on this but the new drytron cards (not the trap) are crazy. Nu2 makes the deck easily play through handtraps and gives you several one cards. The boss is soft twice per turn and is easy to loop with i:p into dyna mondo which you can make with one card. Been playtesting it for a bit and its really fun
1 Drytron Xyz gets you the new ritual, two material is 4000 and it has 2000 itself
Also it gives your 1000 atk drytrons (that have been weakened by returning Meteonis) a purpose.
You can always run 2 or 3 DAD and use another DAD as material to mitigate the cost
Time to put this and ritual dogmatika together for the "Entirely of Revelations" Deck

I have no clue why he was being so weird about this, it was painful to watch.
All the fusions are him fusing into the fiend weapons to become stronger just like Dante in the games.
i think youve got it exactly
10:10 He's so innocent and unaware its insane
Everyone's saying Devil May Cry Archetype and I'm just over here getting a mix of Gungrave and Shadows of the Damned
Spells like Tractus and Ground Xeno that Fusion Summon as a graveyard effect the same turn you use their "front" half are pretty crazy card design. I like it.
Sanctus is just hornet drones
I love how drytron has a history of just being degeneracy turbo. During their heyday it was just 6 omni-negate herald, then eva got hit, then it felt like people weren't even willing to experiment with anything else and they fell off the face of the earth. Now people are trying to turbo out amorphactor pain and turn skips???? Lmao
God forbid we try any of the existing other ritual archetypes if it doesn't have a floodgate to sit on
I'm surprised Drytron doesn't have a in archetype limiter removal, because that would be wild both for combo plays (the rituals get very free) and killing people.

I'm not Catholic, but I'm Christian. I think it's cool that we're getting a Catholic archetype. Now if only Konami had the balls to release 'Link 8 Jesus of Nazareth'.
😂😂😂
I hope this doesn't lead to a ban of high wave king for the sake of our ddd decks as they are a fun archetype and losing that would be unfortunate
A lot of anime have catholic references actually. Some are pretty explicit like qwaser of stigmata or dies irae.
Yugioh players when the ancient gear support only supports ancient gear: 😮
Also Yugioh players when the Drytron support incentivizes playing Drytron cards.
In physical pain from hearing MBT saying you could play Fiendsmith in fucking Resonators
The fiendsmiths sound like a better P.U.N.K archetype
What konami has actually given us are cards that are reaally good at making beatrice
the guy himself is a 1 card beatrice without using your normal at the cost of the attack lock of the token
You can access a different line to beatrice via making the fusion using any light fiend + any 1 guy at the cost of 4 extra deck slots and playing the smith as a hard garnet
the archetype good at doing that is live twin but with the underworld goddess link 2 is coming before this does theoretically any deck and access that line with any 3 link material
With beatrice being better than its ever been with transaction rollback im very curious to see if this archetype can actually bring beatrice to its limit
Did MBT forget that Ancient Gear has plenty of ways to summon ancient gear monsters from deck ignoring summoning conditions?
Still it doesn't need the Cannot be Special Summoned part.
DRYTRON MENTIONED
“Fiend-burger in paradise” cracked me up way too hard.
just because of Caesar, Fiendsmith might be worth running in any deck that loses to nibiru, just run the bare minimum 7 card main deck and 2 card extra deck engine, there are no garnets since even Lurrie can be used with any discard...or even normal summon it if you reaaaaally need to
You can play less than that, it only requires that you play 4 cards main 1 ed and puts 2 level 6 fiends on the board in 4 summons
@@salexpie you can, but why?, only extreme deck space cases, but the cards are so good why would you run less?
@@aerenntyne1099 Think about how many non-engine are required to play this format for example. Plenty of decks could find the room to play a 4 card engine, 2 spare ED slots and still play 12-15 non-engine especially for such a strong payoff. Granted I think the format will creep down in power pretty significantly when these cards release so maybe going below 12 non-engine in 40 will be possible again.

People running drytron can still run the new support and jank crap like pain, Nu 2 only locks you out of ritual summoning non machines on *your* turn
Meaning you can still go into dyna mondo and just summon pain on your opponents turn as soon as it starts.
You can just use the fiendsmiths as a splashable engine in anything for a one card combo that ends on caesar or Beatrice on the 5th summon
The engine itself can be as small as 4 cards in main and 1 in extra
I love drytron the artwork is cool and you get summon a bunch of silly ritual monsters, the new cards look cool i just wish their more in archtype ritual monsters for drytron
Every time I see this deck, I think up new things. Like, the obvious things are musketeer and fabled synergy. It's a small main deck engine that can get you rank 6. The quick play is just hornet drones with its own link 1. Live twins might work, and we may be getting live twin support soon. I was interested in the art, but it seems good enough that it'll get played, and thus rarity bumped.
It would be cool to get a Santeria or Voodoo inspired archetype
MBT being unable to fathom other people not having the same upbringing is kinda off putting
The gear golem matters approach is more thought out than the gadget approach.
"Damn, Jillian's kinda right tho" - Me who grew up Lutheran
Also fiendsmith works super well with evil twins
"Smell/trap" 😂😂
The ancient gear dragon could be somewhat decent insulation in a deck that doesn't need it's normal summon I guess
Still no deskbot support..
As someone who got turn skipped by Drytron the other day through 3 interruptions, I can say that is certainly what they’re doing
Are there any archetypes that are basically only a splashable engine ?
I guess adventure ?

Hmmmm i wonder why evertime they share the concept arts it's always 99% female monsters.
I’m pretty sure the link 1 is the thing on the Fiendsmith’s back
Drytron in MD has Eva and Benten and it’s still not enough.
Not everyone is catholic. It’s not necessarily common knowledge, particularly for a global game
The ancient gear dragon is actually very playable in Ancient gear, go figure lol. Bc Ancinet gears have at least 2 ways to special summon it from either deck or hand ignoring its restriction.
Also, their are Japanese 'westaboos' but instead of being hyper catholic they really love cowboys.
