6 speed is definitely the way to go, though. I don't know that I would buy another Subaru unless it was an STI.

05 STI 6spd has a final drive ratio of 3.9
05 Saab has a rear diff with final drive of 3.54 it is the same as a 05 wrx rear diff. The book say final drive is 3.9 but the 02-05 5spd has a 1.1 transfer gear making the rear diff 3.54. Hope that helps. Do not want you to blow up a good 6spd. A 06 -ip sti 6mt would of been a direct swap as far as ratio.
You need a legacy or impreza 3.9.l rear diff.
I buy them and buy jdm lsd and make one R160 LSD of of them. Great matched with the 6mt. Good Luck.
From the research I did the 05 Saab rear diff is a 3.9 in the 5 speed cars and the diff in the auto was a 4.11
If what you said is true I don’t think the car would be drivable or drive as good as it does
If you want to check without opening the rear diff. Is to open the tip of the 5spd transmission. If your transfer gears are 1 to 1 it is 3.9. But if it comes out to 1.1 to 1 then it it 3.54 rear.
