Way back in the day when I was just a scrub I managed to get into the secret area in BN3(back then I used cheats and stuff) but even then I could tell it was something truly special. Like just gaining access into the place demanded that the player actually engaged with and understood the game systems.
I think part of the reason the postgame in BN3 hits so hard is because it subverts expectations pretty good, the undernet itself is just pretty hostile, it looks dark, broken and it's straight up structured like a sort of maze where you can easily lose sense of direction, at this point those who didn't invest much time building a proper folder might also struggle pretty hard against a lot of the viruses in the area. But if you push through you end up reaching this pure and bright area, just as you said in the video, it's not what you would expect after going in so deep in the darkest reaches of the web. Heck it even makes sense lorewise because of who rules that area.
I was one of those few who literally played through all 6 BN games back in the GBA and I recently managed to pick up the legacy collection on sale, I can easily recommned it to anybody just for the sheer amount of playtime these games offer. A few years ago I managed to do a 100% run on BN2 finally through legit means and I'm glad to say that I'm well on my way to finally doing the same for BN3, no cheats this time :)

Only played MMBN3 White on GBA as a kid and I loved every moment even when I would get stuck trying to get lvl4 chips 👍 I'm starting the legacy collection to appreciate all of them

As a kid i had only MMBN3 and i adored playing it and stumbling across end game secrets but i never googled end game so i didnt know about the multiple stars. Im kind of sad that i probably wont ever get it now. I had the time as a kid but didnt realise I could google secrets, or maybe i wanted to find it myself (dont remember), but now i dont have the time to only play this series. Im slowly progressing but havnt even finished half the campaigns yet.... it's going to be a 5+ year journey to slowly complete the collection at the rate im going. Maybe i need to look forward to retirement to get 100%, if i dont get ruined by arthritis.

The first video game I ever bought was MM BN 3 White. I was 10 and used prize money from school to buy a GBA and MegaMan.
I didn't even knew English at the time but man I loved the shit out of it.
As I grew older, learned English began to understand the game and loved it even more!
I remember being 13-15 trying to figure out how could a real life version of Zenny could work then a few years later trying to convince dad to get into Bitcoin and using this games as example. He didn't listen to me. Rip

Nice to see someone who got a lot more out of them than I did...I'll admit, not one for these games themselves when they were coming out, especially once they started to get two versions the same way pokemon did. I was more into, say, Golden Sun than these, but I've gotten the other 3 collections of Mega Man games, since I do enjoy the blue bomber, and I remembered the cartoons from my high school days(I'm old, go away), so I got these too.
I'll admit to ONLY having beaten 3 so far, still doing 4, but since everyone spoke so highly of it, I tried the post game of the others. They're...not terrible on a gameplay sense, and design wise, the new areas look good, though the flashing backgrounds with the small animations that fill the screen probably looked better on the GBA screen than a TV.
That being said, I didn't finish any of the 3 so far. I'm not one for completionist without a New Game + reward to really grab me, and sadly, so far no dice on that. They are interesting gameplay challenges for what they are, but I don't see myself grinding them too hard.
As for the story? They're foreshadowing...honestly, and this comes from a place of love for what they did, they feel like the Kingdom Hearts post games, especially in Final Mix versions, where it's ALL foreshadowing what's coming next, without being specific with it, since...well they haven't made the next games yet, so some details might change.
Still, great to see someone who got a huge amount more out of the post game than I did, and it's still a cool set of games I'm enjoying...with Buster Max mode on I'll be the first to admit.

Indeed, the secret area aesthetic, music and challenges made battle network 3 one of the greatest games of all time for me. It's just something you can't put your finger on to explain, something so wounderously epic and mysterious like it's something made by God himself.

I've sunk 150 hours into number 5 on my 3ds. That is an insane amount of gameplay. I'm looking forward to playing through the postgame in 3 because I didn't really get that far into it as a kid. I wish they would have included network transmission and battle chip challenge as well as the star force series in thos collection. I have never played the starforce games. Some people say it's not as great but some say that it's really good. It looks cool to me. Maybe I'll have to buy a used copy for my 3ds.
How good is the postgame in 6 compared to 3 and 5?

i knew Yai was Lan's Rich friend you were talking about. I've seen the anime Megaman NT Warrior on kids wb when it debuted Saturday May 17 2003. there were only three seasons of the show though and the third season of the show Megaman axcess ended in November 2006. there wasn't any explanation and they never explained that the only explanation for this is they never finished dubbing the rest of the episodes in english maybe if they did we would have seen the whole series and there would have been a season four of Megaman NT Warrior. but it was a very good series though and it was very entertaining.
