I love FRIGHT NIGHT. When the movie came out, I was on a small GREEK island on a tour of Europe. On this tiny island, there was a small movie theater and it was playing FRIGHT NIGHT. It wasn't really a theater, it was an old building with a large screen set up on the roof top. So, I got to see this great movie in Greece, on a warm summer night under the stars. The movie was in English with Greek subtitles. It was a blast. I felt very proud of my fellow Americans in the movie because the Greek audience loved it. I was a bit homesick and this movie transported me back home to California. I've always been a fan of horror movies, but FRIGHT NIGHT holds a special place in my heart. A wonderful memory of being young in Greece watching the sexiest vampire to ever grace the big screen. The directing by Tom Holland, the music by Brad Fiedel, and the amazing cast ... Thank you all for the beautiful memory.
I was 14 years old when I saw this movie, on VHS, after a junior high drama club trip. My mom was surprised when i reacted to the vampire next door by screaming “Ohmigod, it’s Christopher Sarandon!!!” Having already seen “A Tale of Two Cities” and sneaking a VHS of “Lipstick” while on a babysitting job, I knew where my crush was. This movie scared the crap out of me and turned me on like I had never experienced in my life. I didn’t know until MUCH later that there was such a following, and can’t thank you all enough!

Some movies have a line that becomes an instant classic and is one that you never forget and even repeat decades later. Jaws had 'You're going to need a bigger boat'. Fright Night's, for me, was "You're So Cool Brewster!" A guy blew a red light with his window down recently and I yelled that out my window at him. It's my go to insult.
When I first saw the trailer for this mid 80’s, I asked a friend of mine ….” Dude, the movie looks intriguing, but what’s it about?” He told me……. Vampires.! I knew then I had to see it. Luckily it came on HBO and I did what most of us did back then, we stuck a clean VHS cassette in and pirated that shit! Fright Night is the gift that keeps on giving! So many cool scenes and special effects! But what makes the movie so awesome is the character development. Because it was so brilliantly written, the music, the score by Brad Fiedel, an unappreciated resource I might add, and the brilliant acting and directing! Absolute horror masterpiece! I still use dialogue from the movie In everyday life! Treasure of a movie!! Thank you Tom Holland and the cast! “What’s the matter Charlie? Thought I would never come over with out being invited first? You’re right, quite right. However, now that I have been made welcome, I’ll be stopping by quite a bit, in fact, whenever I feel Like it…..with your mother’s kind permission of course”. As Siskel and Ebert said, “The Vidal Sassoon vampire!” May Jerry Dandridge be welcome in all households……with or without permission!
I was a very young teenager when this was released, I still pop it on every now and then, great 80s flick, warms the heart to see this reunion, I'm so grateful to have lived through such a golden time, if you're an 80s kid like me you remember how special that era was, I'm a hard rock/heavy metal fan too, I have so many great memories of all the music and movies back then, I'm truly privileged, this generation doesn't know what it missed!!! Fantastic movie, if you've not seen it, give it a go, remember it's age and don't judge it by today's expensive CGI standards, it's a great watch. Cheers everyone!!!
One of the most powerful moments in any horror movie is the death of Evil Ed by Stephen Geoffreys. The desperation, betrayal, and loss conveyed by that performance is amazing. Also, my wife had never seen the film. When I showed it to her, her favorite line was, "Brewster, you're so cool!" Classic
OMG I can't believe I ran across this !! Thank you so much for posting ❤ I loved Fright Night , fell in love with Chris Sarandon lol Absolutley loved Roddy McDowell anyway . I am so happy to see them doing these panels , great to know everyone is doing so good still !! Much love from Tennessee ❤
One of my absolute favorite horror movies. A must watch every year. I even have the movie poster in my basement. So glad I found this..man I miss the 80's
I rewatch this movie a few times each sp00ky season. One of my absolute favorites. The original reigns supreme over that Colin Farrell hot mess. This cast is the best, thank you guys for many years of fun, fright and laughs!!!
Maybe (and I know it goes by the name of 'FRIGHT NIGHT') but just maybe if you were to go back & give the Tennant / Farrell version another chance you might just (maybe?) not be so critical of the re-imagining of this? They should have lost the title from it (but I guess they knew it had a following with us) but actually it's better than a good many more recent horror pictures...is it anywhere near as good as our original? :) hell no! but I think it's better than alright but it has none of the plentiful scenes we enjoy with this original I'll give you but for me it's not as bad as many remember with the years having passed (like you I was disappointed by it upon seeing it for the first time...but like I say...lose the name...and forget it's competing with our beloved original & it's actually not too bad at all) that said with Sarandon & Farrell there's only ONE WINNER & the same goes for McDowell & Tennant.
@@paulconway9745..The remake was too violent, dark and two-dimensional. Jerry Dandridge was, basically, a serial killer. The Horror movie Remakers.. almost always want to make more graphically violent, "realistic" versions----and lose the Magic of the original. Then, too much CGI....in my opinion.
Your not wrong, it was more violent for sure & dark & yes the characters were not filled out like in our superb original, also, agree with the comment made by you in that when the film companies make these horror remakes or re-imaging's they go for MORE GORE as in the Fright Night re-imagining, the CGI is almost a given sadly now, these days (although every now & again you'll get the odd one trying to use the old fashioned way of sfx rather than computers) so in short, I kinda agree with you, except that I liked it somewhat, not as bad as a good many remakes, it's a 6 out of 10 compared to our original FRIGHT NIGHT, which of it's type is damn near perfect (and for me scores a 10) I appreciate your thoughts on it though.@@PhilAlumb
I’m so happy to see everyone! I was a teenager when I first saw this and fell hard for Jerry Dandridge 😂. I’m over 50 now and will forever love this movie 😍. I was just reminded earlier this week Chris does Jack Skellington’s voice. Don’t know how I ever forgot that. ❤❤❤
I saw a reanactment of this flick at a local theater before even seeing the film. Enjoyed it so much i immediately saw the film and now its one of my favorites. Ive seen so many of these cast reunions that i know most of these stories by now lol. For anyone that wants some more Rappaport with the cast, look up the episodes of Chris Serandon's podcast where he had some of his coworkers (both from Fright Night and his other films) as guests. He recently interviewed Susan Serandon and that was a great interview.
Where there's a will there's a way, it's Hollywood don't forget. About a year ago Tom Holland was writing a script to bring back the original cast but now it's all gone quiet. @@davidmerlin3344
@@davidmerlin3344 Other than Jerry and Billy, the main cast mostly lived. Evil is also suggested to be alive at the end. It's really just a matter of reviving Jerry. Hammer Studios killed then revived Dracula for nearly every movie, so it's just a matter of working out a resurrection scenario for Jerry
I'd love a sequel done in CGI like how the new Indiana Jones handled showing Indiana Jones in his youth. Then u have the OG cast doing voice work. Probably not feasible for budget reasons, but a guy can dream. I'm generally not a fan of CG over practical effects, but it has it's place and for things like that would b alright imo. Really wish we could've got a part 3 or a TV series bitd. Love all the characters and actors so much! And shoutout to Billy Ragsdale in Herman's Head! I bought a custom made DVD of the entire series, was great to experience it again. Very nostalgic for those days, and fun carefree TV shows we had bitd.
All time favourite 80s horror film! I love it! Love a great vamp flick. Deep shame about Roddy although he was elder even then but fantastic to see everyone still going strong. Chris"s deeply heartfelt moment about Roddy was very poignant. Chris was perfect as Jerry Dandridge as the whole ensemble was perfect towards their respective roles. Wish they could come to the UK for a reunion tour or com con. Best wishes to them all..❤
I love these movies. I owned Fright Night & Fright Night 2. I didn't understand why these ones weren't on TV much in the 90s & into the millennium. Good thing I had them. It's so crazy to see these people looking like Senior citizens(except Charlie, lol). Just doesn't compute that the movie was really so long ago.
Hello, everyone! Greetings from Brazil! My name is Monalisa and I am a 49-year-old one-to-one private English tutor. I was 10 when this movie came out and, since I couldn't watch it at the theaters due to the age rating, I came up with a plan: I decided to wear my aunt's clothes to cheat the man who took the tickets. I wore a low-cut dress and high heel shoes. I also wore a lot of make-up. Guess what? It worked! The man didn't even realize I was under age! And the funniest part is that my aunt was the one who needed to show him her ID due to her youthful appearance! I had a great time on that day!

He was great! He played kind of a continuation of Evil Ed in the gay horror movie he did.
He did porn also.

Joyful tears right now watching this. Fright Night is one of my all time favorite movies. Thank you for this!
One of my absolute favorite horror movies. A must watch every year. I even have the movie poster in my basement. So glad I found this..man I miss the 80's
Love Fright night! A classic!
I was at this convention.. great time
Was worth the wait till Stephen finally spoke! ❤
He,s not said nothing what’s wrong with Mr.queer porn king lol😂
"You're so cool, Brewster!" was something I quoted all the time in high school.
The remake is from Tom Holland also..😂 just a more modern take.
Collin Farrel strikes me as a narcissistic douche canoe. The character and the actual man.
Thanks for splitting the screen... it works
I watch this every October! Thank you for doing posting this!
Awesome 🙂 Thank You
I’m so happy to see everyone! I was a teenager when I first saw this and fell hard for Jerry Dandridge 😂. I’m over 50 now and will forever love this movie 😍. I was just reminded earlier this week Chris does Jack Skellington’s voice. Don’t know how I ever forgot that. ❤❤❤
Absolutely one of the best panels I've ever seen - their closeness makes it sooooooo much better and the fluidity makes such an impact 🎯 🎯 🎯
It’s a classic because it stands the test of time, I always watch it when it’s on!
I love this…
Fright Night … Chris Sarandon legend.
This was a brilliant reunion, I loved every minute and some great stories. Is Tom Holland going to write another sequel with the original cast.
Hard to bring back a have the cast that was killed in the movie.
Where there's a will there's a way, it's Hollywood don't forget. About a year ago Tom Holland was writing a script to bring back the original cast but now it's all gone quiet. @@davidmerlin3344
I think he wrote a prequel. It's a novel
YOU GOTTA HAVE FAITH!!!!!
Best wishes to them all..❤
Roddy was only 56.
Fright Night is easily in every greatest movies list.
I concur whole-heartedly
I saw it when it first came out and it's still one of my favourite movies, man i feel old.......Sigh
It was a fantastic movie . I watch it every time its on .
Perfection .
Love this film and love seeing all these folks back together.
My favorite vampire film and favorite Brad Fiedel film score.
I just finished watching it. CLASSIC!!! ❤
🍎🧛🏻♂️🦇
I absolutely love the original Fright Night Movie & own it on DVD, & this Reunion Panel is totally magnificent. Thank you!! ❤👏🏼❤👏🏼❤👏🏼❤👏🏼❤
Chris Sarandon! "Excelente Ator"!! 😊😊
I watch this one every year this season! A favorite of mine!
Still love this movie and saw it over 50 times! Nice to see Dorothy!
Fright Night - one of my all time favs !
