What brushes are you using in Clip Studio Paint? What brushes do you wish you could "import"?
I think the Alpha Map /Material importing is so overly complicated , would be way easier when i would be able to grab my Picture file from Hard drive directly
@@obsidianwing Yeah, it's a little complicated and I wish there was a way to import directly from that Material window. The price you pay for a good brush engine, I guess! haha :)
I wish you could make that sinix painting brush for clip studio, I’ve tried some from the internet, and none of them works like the one in corel draw
I really want to make texture brushes
@@taofsart8769 They're so handy! I love my stipple brushes for adding a little texture here and there. Nothing better than not having to dot at your monitor for forever. haha
I don't know why I watched any other tutorial, senpai. Perfection.
Great tutorial! Btw, the stablization isn't actually causing lag here, that's just how stabilization actually works. It's kind of like your dragging your line around on a rubber band with the idea being that the rubber band will absorb all the bumps and jitters. The bigger the number the longer the rubber band.
Something to note is that this kind of thing happens with real life brushes which drag their bristles behind them. So the amount of smoothing you use can make the difference between something feeling like a brush versus a pen.
18:09 is what I needed thanks
This is the tutorial I needed
Awesome! Glad it was helpful.
thanks scott, nice tutorial!
SUPER HELPFUL! Thanks for showing off your brush process, Scott! The "randomness" button is a game changer!
Heck yeah! And no worries! :)
I really enjoy this style of tutorial and your personality and energy! This was very helpful and I'm excited to try making my own brushes in CSP :)
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it! I'm trying to find a good balance of fun and practical for these videos. Glad it was helpful, and good luck making your own brushes! Let me know if you have any questions! :)
Brilliant tutorial on brush adjustments. Thanks Scott.
there are many cool ones from the community on the site for free as well.
my favorite is the textured pen.
nice video.
I just found your channel and instantly subscribed, you're amazing as a teacher and also funny to watch. Tank you very much for the tutorial

Glad you enjoyed it!
thank you so much im a beginner and i really need this
Awesome! Just takes practice, practice, practice! :)
Got that same pen and I love it!
It's such a good pen. I've switched to using mostly a Kuretake Pocket Brush Pen - Extra Fine, but I need to give this one another go. I really like it.
@@ScottD I rarely ink by hand because of time restraints and deadlines, but whenever I do need to ink a quick piece by hand (not taking brushes and nibs into consideration), that's the pen I go to.
When I make brushes, they lag too much, what should I do?
There's a few things that could be happening. Your initial stamp could be huge, which then makes Clip try to do too much each time it puts one down. If that's not it, it could be that your actual brush is too big, which causes a similar issue. If both of these aren't helping, your stabilization might be set too high, which will make the brush need a lot of processor power and slow down a bunch. Or it could be a combination of those things. If none of those are doing it, shoot me an email with a link to the brush and I'll see if I can troubleshoot it. My email is in my twitter bio @scottdrummond.
Great tutorial. Just kicked you some $ for your brushes. Thanks!
Glad you liked it! And thank you so much! :D
Did I miss on the video how to SAVE THE BRUSH? Not sure. That is what I was looking for.
I don't think I went over that! With the Brush you want to save selected, just hit the Three Lines menu button in the top left of the Sub Tool palette, then choose Export Sub Tool! Hope that helps!
@@ScottD I am wondering why 'Export Sub Tool' is the way to save a brush. Exporting to me means saving it out to give to another program or person. It is not intuitive. But thanks Scott. I really like your videos. Your personality, video construction, editing and camera work are really comfortable to watch. They say if you notice what the director is doing, he is a bad director.
@@bbrachman Thanks so much! It's been a lot of fun making these videos, so I'm glad people are enjoying them! :D
I’m about to throw a bunch of money at your gumroads
Haha! Awesome. Thanks! :D
i don't get it. the end result has nothing to do with the real thing.
How do I make custom ERASER brushes? Do I use the same technique for making custom pens, pencils, and brushes? Thank you, for any help or suggestions you might have. Good video! Thumbs up!
P.S. Are those Keurig single-use plastic containers recyclable? Not to pick on you my fellow artist, but those things are not good for the environment. I see them along with all sorts of other plastics on the beaches here in Southern California. Also, not to freak you out again... but studies have shown that all those instant home/office coffee making machines end up having nasty bacteria growing in their inner workings, which are next to impossible to clean or sterilize. Be safe! Be healthy! I just make real coffee in the morning in an old-fashioned coffee pot. I make my own homemade mochas... and they are to live for!
P.P.S. You ARE very funny though, that's for sure. Please keep making informative and humorous videos. And thus, I am forced to share your videos on my Twitter, Instagram, Tumbler, and Facebook accounts. Also, as I was watching your video, I thought your eyeglasses were surgically embedded in your EAR! Hahahaha! You Millenials and your piercings! Too funny! Freaked me out! Hahaha!
P.P.P.S. How come everytime I install the newest CSP updates, I lose all of my custom brushes, pencils, pens etc? Drives my nuts!
Sorry for the delayed response! I was at NYCC and just saw your comment!
I would think you could make a custom eraser by doing the same technique, but maybe backwards? Like, maybe put down an even layer of pencil and then erase parts of it with the eraser you like, scan that in, invert it and use that for your stamp. I usually just end up using the Clear swatch with the pen/pencil I'm using to erase, but that's not as easy on the iPad with it's double tap to switch tools function.
I know! I've actually pretty much stopped using the Keurig because 1) it tastes terrible and 2) I can't drink as much coffee as I used to because I have high blood pressure. I'll get coffee at a local shop down the street and bring it into the studio instead. :)
And thanks so much for sharing my videos! I'll do my best to keep kicking out good CSP-related tuts on a semi-regular basis.
I'm not sure about the updating issue. I haven't run into that problem, thankfully, but if I hit that snag and find a fix, I'll make sure to do a video about it! :)
Take care!
@@ScottD Cool idea! Like creating an alpha file for Z-Brush! I hadn't even thought of doing that. Smart!
Thank you for responding!
Heheheeh...heheheheh... know the pain of spending too much money on pens and markers.
Such aseet sorrow!
