Spot on with OGD114. On Early Times, we’ve blinded three different bottles of each ourselves and the new always comes across so much darker and richer. Then we double blinded 15 other folks on new vs old and new won by a landslide with the old coming across sharper, thinner, and more artificial fruity (Taylor SmB was in the same blind and new Early Times destroyed that for 13 of the 15 people as well). It’s gotta be batch variance.
I dont think the juice in Early Times BiB has changed yet. Its a bottled in bond product so that means min. 4 year age statement. Saz just took over on Brown Foremans inventory less than two years ago. So wouldnt that mean its still original brown foreman juice for at least 2+ more years?

If you two ever make your way over to the Soaring Eagle, I know the sports bar at the back (Ascend) uses Buffalo Trace as their "well" bourbon. It's not really well, but it's the default choice from their liquor gun. Good Old Fashioned's.

Considering the price, of around $20 at the time, Jim Beam Black when it was an 8 year aged was my go to, S tier. The current 5-7 year is supposed to taste the same, but it just doesn't. Buffalo Trace is the goat for an affordable bottle.
Isn’t Sazerac ET still the same stuff at this point? Someone explain why it may be worse. It’s not like it’s aged in Sazerac’s facilities already. I’ve only tried the Sazerac and love it. I heard 2024 is when we should see the changes.
Dont know how i missed this video. I really like this style video. Id like to see you revisit this or maybe do another price tier. Im amazed yall arent coppers craft 100 fans with you like old forester and early times. Easily my favorite $30 bourbon.
Woodford is def my fav out of these Makers Mark is in there - prob not something I'd sip on, but great for mixed drinks/cocktails. Bulleit is another one - this one I could actually sip on but it'd fall in the B category for me.
Sean unicorn is Early Times Bib. But it's also his white whale. He has to go source out ,find, & blind taste multiple ET Bib along with getting confirmation on what happened with the sale.
The early times blue and black caps are the same juice. Sazerac bought the label in 2020 and needs four years to age a BiB product. Product will release it in 2025.
BT is great but I just don't get why everyone goes ape for it. I've had a lot of rare stuff and WT101 kicks most of them around the curb imo. Kinda happy it's beloved but not as popular as BT because if WT101 ever gets hard to find I might just go sober forever
I agree with OF 100 being an A, I think Wild Turkey 101 is better. I was very disappointed in 1792 Small Batch but it's $45 in Indiana. But Early Times is a stunner in my books, it's above S it's a different universe!
I guess I gotta give 1792 another try because my first experience with it was downright awful. I'd probably put Elijah Craig up one tier but other than that it's spot on.
Visited a local store recently and notice they had 10-ish bottles of ET BiB on the shelf. Then I noticed about half of them were black cap brown foreman’s. Bought em all!!
There are a number of ryes in this price range that I'd put at least even with the bourbon's on this list. George Dickel Rye: A WT 101 Rye: $23 for a 750ml bottle in SC, S+ Old Forester Rye: S Redemption Rye: A Elijah Craig Rye: S+ High West Double Rye (just over $30): S Old Overholt BIB: B That's just off the top of my head.
I have read and heard reports that Early Times is still bottling barrels shipped from B-F. Since it has to be from a bonded warehouse, you think they are bottling the former Very Old Barton or 1792 bonded and calling it Early Times bonded? ET has a different mash bill so I don't see how that could be the case. Must be still from B-F.
I am so confused by how polarizing the new ET BiB is. My bottle is unbearably bitter on the finish and drinks so hot. The nose is great, but the palate is way off. I’m willing to give it some time to get some air, but it’s the closest I’ve been to dumping a bottle down the drain. Then there are people saying they love it. I’m wondering if there is a bunch of bad stock out there because it’s the only thing that could explain the love/hate reaction it’s getting.
Just got old Forester rye for 26ish dollars definitely my new favorite s tier Think you should have defined points to make S A and B tiers. IE , S tier, hits all points you expect from. More expensive bottles. A missing one or two of that S list, B is missing 3 of those, below that goes missing those and the flavor is off etc
Awesome list fellas. I was able to score 4 bottles of store pick single barrel Buffalo Trace for $26 a few months ago, and some store pick single barrel bottles of 1792 in both Full Proof and BiB for $34-$36. Both the BT and Weller is easy to get in SoTx, but not ER, ETL, EHT.... Russell's 10yr is $30 here and good stuff as well. Next up on my purchase list to try is Cooper's Craft, Benchmark BiB & SB, and OGD 114... I just missed the boat on Evan Williams SB, it would go for $26 down here in So Tx, but now its only sold in Kentucky I heard ? I haven't seen it lately. Keep up the good content.
I do not disagree with any of your ratings, especially the S Tier. I think they are pretty spot on. I would add a couple to the list: Around $30 Johnny Drum = A Tier $32 ($26 @ total wine) Coopers Craft 100 = A Tier $32 1783 = B Tier $32 Larceny = C Tier $26 Bulleit Bourbon = D Tier $22
Knob creek 9 small batch is my S tier bottle for under $30. Usually under $25 in my area.

They did a triangle blind a few months ago and they picked out new bottles vs old bottles blind. ruclips.net/video/Zh7esEAa0PI/видео.html
Its still brown forman stock sure. But its not blended up to the same standards or same profile im sure. (Not to mention variations from season to season you are going to come across in BIB products)
God tier Comic book to movie analogy with Early Times had me rolling 😂🤣😭
Great video. Bowman Bros small batch is amazing. I would say an A & only $27 in Texas. Keep it a secret, easy to find right now! Keep up the great vids guys.
It's distilled by Buffalo Trace.
Woodford reserve has to be top of A. B is disrespectful. The rest of the list looks solid
That Dickel Bourbon is super solid. I have surprised some Dickel naysayers with it. I think the Coopers' Craft Barrel Reserve 100 proof @ $30 for the price point is super solid as well. Great vid...always enjoy your banter that goes long with it...Cheers!
I must have an eye for good bourbon. The top 4 on this list are all of my favorites, and I bought all mine blindly when I got into bourbon. Once you drop below S tier the only one I had on this list was elijah craig. I have had Woodford reserved, however it was the pricier double oaked variant.
Early Times BIB is still S tier for me. I got mine for $22 and nothing still beats it at that price point. Also Evan Williams single barrel is missing from the S tier list at 29.99 a bottle. I love that stuff it’s a really good underrated bourbon.
1792 is the value bomb. It's my go to choice whenever Im introducing anyone to Bourbon.
thanks for breaking down and rating $30 bottles. It is helpful when deciding what to spend money on. thanks and cheers
Love the channel by the way! I tune in all the time while I’m sipping. Usually while my wife watches House Hunters or Bravo. She is getting use to y’all.
Love the list. Y'all should do a quick blind of these bottles to see if your favs stand up to their score
Edit: should specify *another* blind to see if your historic palates have changed
If you two ever make your way over to the Soaring Eagle, I know the sports bar at the back (Ascend) uses Buffalo Trace as their "well" bourbon. It's not really well, but it's the default choice from their liquor gun. Good Old Fashioned's.
I love Buffalo Trace but it’s always worth the extra $5 or so to get eagle rare IMO
True if you can find it!
Dunno if you’ve since got a chance to see their Buffalo Trace Distillery blind ranking, but this comment aged really well lol
Sean’s hate for the new early times bib is so strong it just uncontrollably spewed out. 😂
& I believe, unfounded🙃Same juice. Different bottle😜
@@shawnphenderson Saz is doing something different with the juice though. I have no idea what it is but ET used to be a favorite of mine and there's a def new sharp sourness to it since the rerelease. I wasn't even aware that Saz took ownership until I was on my third new bottle. I just thought it was a fluke or a batch issue, but that carpet-glue tang just never went away.
@@morebeer7673 I have never tried the BF bottling, so I don’t have a good control for comparison, but I do like the Saz copy just fine. You bring up a point for me to think on. Maybe I am a candidate for glue huffing 😅
I get OGD114 for 19.99 and for that price, it’s second to none! Putting it in the C slot was just mean!
1792 SB for me was 44.99 don’t know why it’s more expensive here. But I agree with all the S tier bottles. 1792 SB is my #1 then Buffalo Trace (if it can be found) and WT101 is an absolute hitter for $20.
Surprised with the Dickel! Now I want a bottle. I think I would have put OGD 114 in the B tier. 😊 Great video. These are so fun!
That’s the absolute truth with Buffalo Trace. WHEN you can find it, it’s an amazing budget bottle
Damn. Both OGD 114 and bonded are definitely A to S tier for me. Buffalo Trace I would say is C. Coopers Craft 100 is easily S tier. So good and I haven’t tasted anything quite like it.
Agreed! Though Cooper’s is $35-40 in VA.
Coopers Craft 100 is a badass
I’m liking
1792 small batch
Knob Creek 9
EC small batch
Russell’s 10yr
I think the Dickel 8yr is a really nice pour and at my local Sam’s Club I get Buffalo Trace 23.00 & OF 1920 for 46.00 all day:)
S: Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey 101
A: Elijah Craig Small Batch
B: Old Forester 100, 1792 Small Batch
C: Old Grandad 114
D: Woodford Reserve, Early Times BIB
With this video, you’re doing Gods work! These are all good in my book.
Regardless of price, Bib & Tucker wins taste tests at my place all the time. Beats Blanton's, Booker's, Baker's, your name it.
Im really liking the Old Forester signature 100 i bought yesterday
More tier lists. Love these. I enjoyed the ones you did per distillery.
Yes, they haven't had it long enough for it to be Sazerac juice yet, have they?
Right. So I don’t get he hate. Yet. Unless they got a bad batch somehow.
Sazerac blenders vs Brown Foreman blenders each have different palates. Plus natural differences between distilling seasons as requored by BIB.
The best 'S' that you guys left out for me is OF Rye!
I haven't been able to find OF rye in the Kansas City area for over a year. It's a good one.
Dont know how i missed this video. I really like this style video. Id like to see you revisit this or maybe do another price tier. Im amazed yall arent coppers craft 100 fans with you like old forester and early times. Easily my favorite $30 bourbon.
Woodford is def my fav out of these
Makers Mark is in there - prob not something I'd sip on, but great for mixed drinks/cocktails.
Bulleit is another one - this one I could actually sip on but it'd fall in the B category for me.
Always love these. $40-$60 available bottles up next!!!
Sean unicorn is Early Times Bib. But it's also his white whale. He has to go source out ,find, & blind taste multiple ET Bib along with getting confirmation on what happened with the sale.
Man you guys have been killing it with the content! Love to know I have nearly every bottle on this list including that good ol Stonehammer ;)
I like Dan's shirt because it's how I read the word "Bourbon" after several shots
The early times blue and black caps are the same juice. Sazerac bought the label in 2020 and needs four years to age a BiB product. Product will release it in 2025.
I can't find BT in my local (OH) general stores. My favorite as well. OF has been my go to mixer bourbon for a while now.
BT is great but I just don't get why everyone goes ape for it. I've had a lot of rare stuff and WT101 kicks most of them around the curb imo. Kinda happy it's beloved but not as popular as BT because if WT101 ever gets hard to find I might just go sober forever
I wish I had watched this yesterday. I just bought a bottle of new Easy Times today.
I agree with OF 100 being an A, I think Wild Turkey 101 is better. I was very disappointed in 1792 Small Batch but it's $45 in Indiana. But Early Times is a stunner in my books, it's above S it's a different universe!
I concur with the list except for the OF100. That’s a C for me. Everybody’s taste is different.
Cooper's Craft 100 proof. $29.99.
Absolutely, CC 100 kills a lot of bottles twice the price
Fantastic tier video. Thanks for reminding me I've never opened OF 100. Cheers!
U guys loved the woodford wheat thought it make the list, its 35 in my area but so is woodford reserve.
George Dickel Rye: A
WT 101 Rye: $23 for a 750ml bottle in SC, S+
Old Forester Rye: S
Redemption Rye: A
Elijah Craig Rye: S+
High West Double Rye (just over $30): S
Old Overholt BIB: B
That's just off the top of my head.
Love it. Junkies gold here.
I love when I see BT store picks. The last one I bought was $28 for a 1 liter.
It cracks me up how BT ended up in the top after coming from the blind BT-lineup tasting and BT being so low...
Hmmm I really really like the new ET. I never had the brown Forman bottle and I’m only a year into bourbon but I really like it👌🏼
I am so confused by how polarizing the new ET BiB is.
Thanks fellas. I forwarded this to some new up and comers to the Bourbon game. Salute my friends ✊🏾
Russell’s for $27 beats BT all day, I bought a bottle for that much this past weekend
“Pretty OK” is firmly planted in my vocabulary. Lol.
Just got old Forester rye for 26ish dollars definitely my new favorite s tier
Think you should have defined points to make S A and B tiers. IE , S tier, hits all points you expect from. More expensive bottles.
A missing one or two of that S list, B is missing 3 of those, below that goes missing those and the flavor is off etc
My go-to cheap and available bottles gotta be Evan Williams BIB and makers mark. My next to-try bottle is bowman brothers
I would add a couple to the list:
Around $30
Johnny Drum = A Tier $32 ($26 @ total wine)
Coopers Craft 100 = A Tier $32
1783 = B Tier $32
Larceny = C Tier $26
Bulleit Bourbon = D Tier $22
If you put OGB 114 in the freezer I swear it tastes like a natural cinnamon whiskey. SO GOOD
