    I appreciate y’all making this video. I just graduated from nurse practitioner school this month and live in Alabama. The reality is that I don’t have the time nor will to hunt, so it’s just gonna have to be secondary for me. I was wanting to get a bottle to celebrate with and it also be worth the investment, so this video was perfectly timed. Thank you!

    You had me until you said the 4 Roses should be more than what they are. $300 is insane.

    • @apeekintime
      @apeekintime 8 месяцев назад +2

      Agreed. No bourbon with an age statement of less than 20 years is worth $300. If you don't have an age statement... it shouldn't be above $100 IMO. If you are ashamed of the age of your whiskey then don't charge like it's a premium product. When bourbon is trying to charge more than Macallen per year of age they screwed up.
      I've tried a ton of whiskey and VERY few bottles taste that much better than most barrel picks that are made up of 8-10 year old MGP. Corn doesn't evolve very much after 8 years in a barrel. There is a mountain of great whiskey at $60-70. For a bottle to be over $100 it should be 10+ years and good, or INSANELY good without an age statement. Stagg drinks like $60-70 whiskey. EHT BP drinks like $80-100 whiskey. GTS $100-150, WLW $100-150, 4 Roses LE... $100-150. Those are good bottles but they aren't the best whiskey I've found. I've had dozens of bottles that were $80 that beat the unicorns.

      I disagree - some of these are orders of magnitude better than most of the bottles out there. Value, like palates, vary and are subjective.

      I would luv to have tried but when they started going for $300 plus they became dead to me like all buffalo trace products had already years ago. Good but not worth the price of admission now sadly. Barrell is about to be added for.mismanagement and was becoming a fan of there chord but they are starting to become greedy like the others. Inflation is real and im.betting the brands that are price gauging and encouraging secondary pricing will be like 1980's bourbon....dead f Michters, buffalo trace, Weller, etc. Wont wait in line , I won't be entering there drawings anymore and for damn sure wont be supporting any other brands connected to their bs

    Guys love your channel and rely on your opinions and palate. I’m starting to wonder whose side you’re on when you are talking like $375 and $450 like that is a regular price. Feel like you’re selling out and driving the price Up. Truth be told probably a little like some other things shouldn’t be a bottle over $50 or so. If y’all keep talking how these 10x prices are acceptable it will just drive it out of site for the regular guy. Disappointed. Believe you’re being supported a little too much and forgot about the regular bourbon guy.
    Actually I think it’s about to correct itself at some near point but who knows with over seas markets and all.
    Still enjoy just wanted to put my two cents in.

      Various sources including history of Michters and Fred Minnick and the published mashbill. But in the next two years it will flip over to Michters distillate. Michters is a very very young distillery with an old name and great distillery tours/tastings. But the good stuff is still contract distilled.

      I hope they keep BF under contract while they work through getting their own distillate up to snuff. Would hate to see what happened to so many great small distilleries when they go from MGP to their own juice and totally kill the quality of their products..

    • @blakestah
      @blakestah 3 месяца назад

      @@brettheiner7125 I am pretty certain BF discontinued contract distilling. Michter's is really detail oriented in their aging process however, so if they can distill decently they will have a good product. But their product will taste more like the low-end Michter's plus age, and less like BF.
