      Wrestling is honestly the form of sport-related pursuit that requires the most all-round training, because you need performance, injury management, strength, mobility, cardio, and, unlike other sports, you need to care about what your body visually looks like, too. And a guy like Cena has been able to bring all of these traits to an elite level. Insanely impressive, drugs or no drugs.

    • @DropIt56
      @DropIt56 Месяц назад +2

      @@JackgarPrimedefinitely gonna push back on the need to care what your body looks like. Plenty of dudes in professional wrestling do not necessarily have ideal looking bodies. Guys like Kevin Owens, Mark Henry, Big Show, Bubba Ray Dudley, Bray Wyatt, Solo Sikoa etc. plenty of guys past present and future don’t need to be super lean and muscular like AJ Styles, LA Knight, Randy Orton, John Cena etc.

    • @bradmiles1984

      @JackgarPrime Месяц назад +9

      @@DropIt56 Ah, but I didn't say they had to be ideal physique. Isaid they have to care what it looks like. That means having a look that is marketable. And for a lot of guys, that does correlate with being lean and muscular. Not always, sometimes it's more marketable to be a fatter fella, but if you look at the guys who tend to reach the very top of the industry, especially WWE, most of them tend to be in amazing shape visually in addition to performance-wise.

I kept myself in a caloric deficit and worked out. Nothing magic about it. But I definitely didn’t cheat and allowed myself to eat what I wanted within my calorie limit.

    There are two camps regarding the use of belts and sleeves. As you are in favor of them, what is your reasoning? The counter stance is that one develops better stability and over all functionality of a joint when they progressively train without the use of these support tool. Im not surprised all his forms are damn near perfect. Theres a great interview with Cena where he explains he actually "hates" working out. He wants to get in and get out as fast as possible. And his routine is something like 30 minutes of stretching and flexibility work, then 30 minutes of just the most hard core clanging and banging lifting. He wants it as efficient and as maximum results as humanly possible.
    The Big Show, Paul Wight, was asked who was the strongest people hes wrestled and one of them was Cena. He said that at 400lbs+ Cena could lift him up and felt like he could stay up there all day. Just order a pizza until Cena decided to put him down and never felt a single concern of John struggling or dropping him.

  • @knightshousegames
    @knightshousegames 19 дней назад

    5:52 I went and looked into this, apparently the gym Cena trains at is called Hard Knocks South, which is his gym he opened along with one of his friends who runs the place. It's named after the gym Cena used to train at when he was a teenager in Massachusetts, though I'm not sure if the gyms are connected in any way.
    A lot of the names on that wall are actually other wrestlers.

    People don't know John was into bodybuildering well before wrestling. Jim Cornette even talks abt him. The prototype was what they called him. He did pick it up quickly. He may not be the best or most technical wrestler, but he knew how to work the crowd and become a fan favorite.

      Now that said I don’t have a 6 pack currently at 20% body fat (I am working on this) but all of the numbers are true and accurate.
      I’ve been lifting consistency since I was 19 years old I’m 54 now so yes over the course of 35 years again being consistent all the major heavy duty lifts.
