I was very upset he had a concert in the NYC in 2019, but I missed it because I didn’t know about him then, and I live nearby. 😢 You will love his “Stranger” and “Across Endless Dimensions”, both in English and written for him.

SOS is the song that introduced Dimash to the world and opened many great opportunities and collaborations for him. There are a number of versions of Dimash singing this song, each different but all great. This particular version comes from the Dimash Digital Show put on during the pandemic after all in-person concerts were cancelled and he had to cut his Arnau Tour short. The song SOS comes from the famous 1978 Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania', which is well known in French-speaking countries, and is a pretty difficult song to sing. In 2017 Dimash received a wild card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant ever at 22 years old and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part in this competition. Although well-known and respected in his homeland Kazakhstan, few in China knew or heard about Dimash before, but with his first song, SOS, Dimash shocked the audience and captured the hearts of over 600 million of viewers overnight, and the rest is history as the saying goes.
I’ve wTched Dimash every day since discovering him on RUclips on a Chinese show called I Am Singer, singing S O S age 22. I’ve travelled overseas to hear him in his three and a half hour concerts. I am 78 and from the U.K. incidentally, on the Chinese show, it got 600 million hits on the Chinese you tube called Wellbo, I believe. So we don’t know how many hits worldwide he gets. I would recommend Stranger from New Wave 2021 which is. very theatrical like a Game of Throne vibe and is in English.

You can't put Dimash in a genre, he sings across all of them, usually mixing 2 or 3 within one song and has sung in more than 12 languages. He's one of the most highly educated artists on the planet, with a bachelors degree in vocals, a masters degree in composition and is soon to complete his PhD. As for why you haven't heard of him in the US? In general, how many artists from Asia are famous in the US? Especially one from Kazakhstan like Dimash? Although he's currently living in Los Angeles and working with Walter Afanasieff who has written hits for both Celine Dion and Mariah Carey so hopefully he will break into the west shortly.
@@counterreaction omg, he has loads! If you're looking for something he's written himself, I'd start with War and Peace 2021. It's in Mandarin but the 2021 digital show performance has English subtitles. He's got a lot of music that is written solely for him though. In the past few years he's been crazy busy with concerts and appearances in various shows but this year he settled in LA for a while and focused on writing music. I'd highly recommend Omir which is the first song he wrote both music and lyrics for, it's in his native Kazakh but subtitles are available. There are others but I don't want to overload you for now.

He was in a singing competition in China and he blew everybody’s minds away. There is a young girl from Kazakhstan where Dimash is from that her blind audition for The voice Kids Ukraine 2017 has over 84 million views. She sings 'Stone Cold' by Demi Lovato. So, in 1976, the composer Michel Berger and the poet Luc Plamondon wrote the first rock opera in the history of France, Starmania. The plot and theme of the musical is terrorism. This topic has already shocked the world in 1973-1974. There was a threat of September 11, the Red Brigades, the Baader Gang. We also recall the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, where an attempt by the West German police to free Israeli athletes ended in a sea of blood. One magazine article on this topic attracted the attention of Michel Berger. It talked about the unusual journey of Patricia Oreth, the daughter of an American tycoon. Kidnapped by a gang of terrorists, subjected to violence, held hostage, she eventually sided with them. This cruel story struck the composer. He began to look through the documents, he thought, he created, wanting to tell about the modern world, about violence, which, it seems, in spite of the will of a person, draws him into a deep abyss. The brief plot of the opera is as follows. The story takes place in the future, in a city called Monopoly, it is the capital of a single state, Western America. The world in which the inhabitants of the Monopoly live is divided into up and down: the rich live upstairs, in luxury skyscrapers, and the rest live underground, below. There is a struggle for power in the state. In the lower part of the city there is a gang of "Black Stars" led by Johnny Rockfort. The gang terrorizes the upper tier of the state by blowing up buildings. Johnny is inspired to fight by Sadia, who is in love with him, a girl from the upper strata of society, who changes clothes at night and goes underground to coordinate the gang's actions. They meet there at the Underground cafe. Above this underground cafe rises the Golden Tower, a 121-storey building, at the very top of which is the office of Zero Janvier, a billionaire engaged in politics. He puts himself forward for the post of president, in his election program - a course for total order and the creation of a new man-made "atomic world". Thus, Zero Janvier becomes the sworn enemy of Johnny Rockfort and the "Black Stars". In order for Johnny to be able to contrast his ideas with Zero's election campaign, Sadia organizes his interview in the popular program "Starmania". After recording an interview with Johnny, the "Black Stars" kidnap Kristal, the host of "Starmania". The gang leader and the TV presenter fall in love with each other. Sadia is beside herself with jealousy. Kristal decides to become the press secretary of the gang, transmitting pirated messages using a neutron camera intercepting television frequencies. She records a video that she is now with Johnny, and the "Black Stars" start recording during Janvier's performance on television. Zero decides that war has been declared on him. After a failed performance, he meets Stella Spotlight, an aging porn star. They have an affair, and after a while they decide to get married. Zero decides to arrange his engagement with Stella in Naziland, a giant rotating disco located at the top of the "Golden Tower". The Black Stars are plotting to set off an explosion to end Zero. But Sadia denounces them. Zero's people are hunting for "Black Stars". Sadia, taking advantage of the commotion, shoots Crystal and she dies in Johnny's arms. The desperate and heartbroken hero grieves over the body of the deceased beloved, turning to the sky... and expresses his pain with an SOS aria. And the last words in the song "Sleep, baby, sleep..." are addressed to the murdered girl. Zero wins the election, becomes president of the West. But Johnny Rockfort's shadow will overshadow his victory... Terrorism against totalitarianism, two living forces in confrontation, two dangers that threaten the world. By the way, an English version of the show "Starmania" was released in 1992, so there is a version of this song in English "Only The Very Best". Personally, I like it performed by Peter Kingsbury.

In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And that in all registers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far). Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Hence we are privileged to be able to hear him. It would have happened anyway, but sooner rather than later is great from my point of view.

He is professionally trained in opera, contemporary music, and musical theater. His diverse discography includes genres such as pop, R&B, EDM, rock, folk/traditional, neo-classical, opera, and even rap and hip-hop with a vocal range of 7+ octaves: C1-D8(which doesn't exist on a standard 88-key piano).

SOS is the song that introduced Dimash to the world and opened many great opportunities and collaborations for him. There are a number of versions of Dimash singing this song, each different but all great. This particular version comes from the Dimash Digital Show put on during the pandemic after all in-person concerts were cancelled and he had to cut his Arnau Tour short. The song SOS comes from the famous 1978 Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania', which is well known in French-speaking countries, and is a pretty difficult song to sing. In 2017 Dimash received a wild card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant ever at 22 years old and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part in this competition. Although well-known and respected in his homeland Kazakhstan, few in China knew or heard about Dimash before, but with his first song, SOS, Dimash shocked the audience and captured the hearts of over 600 million of viewers overnight, and the rest is history as the saying goes.
I’ve wTched Dimash every day since discovering him on RUclips on a Chinese show called I Am Singer, singing S O S age 22. I’ve travelled overseas to hear him in his three and a half hour concerts. I am 78 and from the U.K. incidentally, on the Chinese show, it got 600 million hits on the Chinese you tube called Wellbo, I believe. So we don’t know how many hits worldwide he gets.
I would recommend Stranger from New Wave 2021 which is. very theatrical like a Game of Throne vibe and is in English.

You can't put Dimash in a genre, he sings across all of them, usually mixing 2 or 3 within one song and has sung in more than 12 languages.
He's one of the most highly educated artists on the planet, with a bachelors degree in vocals, a masters degree in composition and is soon to complete his PhD.
As for why you haven't heard of him in the US? In general, how many artists from Asia are famous in the US? Especially one from Kazakhstan like Dimash? Although he's currently living in Los Angeles and working with Walter Afanasieff who has written hits for both Celine Dion and Mariah Carey so hopefully he will break into the west shortly.

@@counterreaction omg, he has loads! If you're looking for something he's written himself, I'd start with War and Peace 2021. It's in Mandarin but the 2021 digital show performance has English subtitles. He's got a lot of music that is written solely for him though. In the past few years he's been crazy busy with concerts and appearances in various shows but this year he settled in LA for a while and focused on writing music. I'd highly recommend Omir which is the first song he wrote both music and lyrics for, it's in his native Kazakh but subtitles are available. There are others but I don't want to overload you for now.

He was in a singing competition in China and he blew everybody’s minds away. That SOS is to me the purest version that he has rendered of this song. Every note is perfectly placed, and even the last note was like a flowering or something more to come. Dimash has studied music since he was 5 years old. He has a master's degree in composition and a doctorate in musicology. His vocal range goes from baritone to soprano. He is a composer and multi-instrumentalist. So far on stage we have heard him sing in 13 languages. SOS is in French. He is the most versatile artist I know and has songs of different styles, including rap. Although his fame continues to grow, he remains a humble person, a great human being, an ambassador of peace wherever he goes.

Dimash has a vocal range of over 6 octaves, which is quite impressive; but that’s not what defines him. He sounds exquisite at any range, which is incredible in and of itself.
Besides, his voice has so many colors and tone to it, not mentioning his vocal dynamics. His voice is soaring only to express his intense emotions, whether it’s a cry for help (SOS), a yearning (Samaltau), or to express pain or loss (The Story of One Sky). Dimash, being a composer himself (“Unforgettable Day”- Ұмытылмас күн, The Story of One Sky, El Amor en Ti…), knows how the song he interprets must be delivered. Indeed, what I love about Dimash is that he does not use his vocal abilities to show off, but to serve the song: through his voice, he’s telling us a story.
In short, he’s not only a masterful vocalist - It’s precisely thanks to his mastery that Dimash is able to freely dive, and tap, into his emotions; but he’s also a great storyteller. What I love about him as well is the way he immerses himself in the songs he sings.
Also, please know that Dimash is indeed classically trained - he even declined a position as an opera singer when he was only 22, and has absolute pitch (a rare cognitive trait by the way) which was discovered when he was only 5 years old.

There is a young girl from Kazakhstan where Dimash is from that her blind audition for The voice Kids Ukraine 2017 has over 84 million views. She sings 'Stone Cold' by Demi Lovato. Here's the link below. The whole audition is 10:30 long mainly because they ask her to sing a second song as an encore. As far as I know this is the first tie any of these shows has asked for a second totally different song. She sings a Ukraininan song to them in Ukrainian. Did i mention she was just 10 years old? The SOS song is a cry for help from an earthling who has known despair.
What kind of despair is this?
So, in 1976, the composer Michel Berger and the poet Luc Plamondon wrote the first rock opera in the history of France, Starmania. The plot and theme of the musical is terrorism. This topic has already shocked the world in 1973-1974. There was a threat of September 11, the Red Brigades, the Baader Gang. We also recall the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, where an attempt by the West German police to free Israeli athletes ended in a sea of blood. One magazine article on this topic attracted the attention of Michel Berger. It talked about the unusual journey of Patricia Oreth, the daughter of an American tycoon. Kidnapped by a gang of terrorists, subjected to violence, held hostage, she eventually sided with them. This cruel story struck the composer. He began to look through the documents, he thought, he created, wanting to tell about the modern world, about violence, which, it seems, in spite of the will of a person, draws him into a deep abyss.
The brief plot of the opera is as follows.
The story takes place in the future, in a city called Monopoly, it is the capital of a single state, Western America. The world in which the inhabitants of the Monopoly live is divided into up and down: the rich live upstairs, in luxury skyscrapers, and the rest live underground, below. There is a struggle for power in the state. In the lower part of the city there is a gang of "Black Stars" led by Johnny Rockfort. The gang terrorizes the upper tier of the state by blowing up buildings. Johnny is inspired to fight by Sadia, who is in love with him, a girl from the upper strata of society, who changes clothes at night and goes underground to coordinate the gang's actions. They meet there at the Underground cafe. Above this underground cafe rises the Golden Tower, a 121-storey building, at the very top of which is the office of Zero Janvier, a billionaire engaged in politics. He puts himself forward for the post of president, in his election program - a course for total order and the creation of a new man-made "atomic world". Thus, Zero Janvier becomes the sworn enemy of Johnny Rockfort and the "Black Stars". In order for Johnny to be able to contrast his ideas with Zero's election campaign, Sadia organizes his interview in the popular program "Starmania". After recording an interview with Johnny, the "Black Stars" kidnap Kristal, the host of "Starmania".
The gang leader and the TV presenter fall in love with each other.
Sadia is beside herself with jealousy. Kristal decides to become the press secretary of the gang, transmitting pirated messages using a neutron camera intercepting television frequencies. She records a video that she is now with Johnny, and the "Black Stars" start recording during Janvier's performance on television. Zero decides that war has been declared on him. After a failed performance, he meets Stella Spotlight, an aging porn star. They have an affair, and after a while they decide to get married.
Zero decides to arrange his engagement with Stella in Naziland, a giant rotating disco located at the top of the "Golden Tower". The Black Stars are plotting to set off an explosion to end Zero. But Sadia denounces them. Zero's people are hunting for "Black Stars". Sadia, taking advantage of the commotion, shoots Crystal and she dies in Johnny's arms. The desperate and heartbroken hero grieves over the body of the deceased beloved, turning to the sky... and expresses his pain with an SOS aria.
And the last words in the song "Sleep, baby, sleep..." are addressed to the murdered girl.
Zero wins the election, becomes president of the West.
But Johnny Rockfort's shadow will overshadow his victory... Terrorism against totalitarianism, two living forces in confrontation, two dangers that threaten the world.
By the way, an English version of the show "Starmania" was released in 1992, so there is a version of this song in English "Only The Very Best".

Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And that in all registers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. Sometimes he also can be a little bit goofy, and I love it❤️. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.
He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audiende to be seen or heard.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

The man who often plays the kobys in Dimash’s performances is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it.

The lights in the back denoting all emotional stages, the wings and final moments before departing to heaven. Dimash is the Most Skilled Vocalist ever!!! Technically and artistically that’s a fact. His versatility, wide range, stage presence, performance, background, technique, creativity, powerful and beautiful voice makes him all in one 🔝🔝🎤❤️🌹Dimash is a world class artist from Kazakhstan, turned 29 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, he also performs in concerts with the famous Ukrainian/Russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition. He started his doctorate in Musicology. Dimash has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respectfully turned it down to pursue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 15 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. He is kind, humble, generous and modest, very elegant and very tall, Dimash is 6ft 3, 1/4.
