I am a University (College) Psychology lecturer and a writer also. On this channel, I react to various media that I've been pointed towards, and try to analyze them from a psychological perspective. Hello Dears of Dimash : )
I’ve no real strategy when it comes to selecting material to react to on RUclips. Basically, generous people take the time to let me know of things that they have found special, and then, without any research and totally blind, I film myself watching it. This strategy means that I do not know what I am walking into, with respect to both the video, and the people who watch the video.
Over the past two days, I have been overwhelmed by the number of people who have commented on this video. I wish I could get back to you individually but I’ve a job and a family that need my time but I have read every comment. Importantly, the tone of your messages has made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. It feels like kindness and support has been sent my direction from all over the world. My guess would be that Dimash attracts a certain type of fan, and my experience of you all makes me think that you are the sort of people who are needed in this world. Indeed, the last two days have given me more faith in humanity. I would further guess that the reason you are attracted to Dimash is because he also holds himself this way as a human being.
A few of you mentioned that I didn’t put the links to Dimash song or channel in the description. Please forgive me for this - (1) I have not yet figured out the youtube etiquette for this (my channel only started a few months back) and (2) With all of my videos, I guess I underestimated how many people would actually watch them! Needless to say that from this video forward, I’ll be putting links in the descriptions of the people that I watch.
I’m rambling now but I wanted to reach out to say thank you for your kindness, and that I can’t wait to watch more of Dimash’s stuff. In time, I’d like to be able to call myself a Dear also because it would put me in a group with such lovely people.

As you are sincere in your emotional/psychological perceptions of such performances, may I respectfully suggest two Dimash performances which I think you may also find moving and meaningful.
First, a song. Qaragym-ai, performed in 2020 as a memorial to his first professional mentor, Kenes Duisekeyev, who he lost to COVID. Kenes wrote this song, composed to the lyrics of a famous Kazakh poem.

Dimash dedicated his performance to this great composer and Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Dimash had first been asked some years before this performance, while still a student at the college of Arts. Kenes expressed his reservations about the emotional maturity and ability of the chosen student when informed that Dimash had been chosen to sing this song of his at a birthday celebration series of performances by various artists. After the performance, Kenes took Dimash under his mentoring wing!
The second is the first (of which, God willing, will surely be more!) magnus opus of this amazingly talented artist. I present two choices for you. Both are worth viewing - many times!

Background : Kazakhstan was chosen to be the host country for a regularly held interreligious conference of world religious leaders, in 2022. Dimash, himself already honored by being designated a Kazakh National Treasure, was asked to prepare something to present to this group. The Story of One Sky comes from a story Dimash wrote in about 2010/11. The images appearing projected behind him contain scenes shot which are part of his grand film:

Dimash, as you will note at the beginning, is composer of the piece, and he also worked with the lyricist, as well as being deeply involved in the direction of the film version of the song.
Some English speakers have taken issue with his “mistakes”. As a poet myself, I have many time made alterations in how a word is expressed in my poems to fit the need. Personally, I like the sounds of the words he’s changed/altered.

The song was composed by Igor Krutoy (the gentleman at the piano) with lyrics by Valerya Gorbacheva. Dimash "feels what he sings". Fun fact: There are mental health counselors and therapists around the world who use Dimash's music as therapy for their patients! He sings to our souls!
His voice is my remedy…. I would emphasise the other two by the same great composer Igor Krutoy - Know and Awe Maria (any version of them). Dimash voice (for me) is an amazing trip to some divine dimensions! The one and only! I need his voice like the air to breathe every day! Dimash is a 29-year-old Kasakh vocalist and composer; He speaks Kasakh, Russian and English and is learning Mandarin Chinese. He sings in more than 14 languages, plays 7 musical instruments. He graduated from the Kazakhstan University of Arts with a master's degree in composition and is completing a doctorate in musicology. He also dances, acts, and is an advertising model (he is 6.3 feet tall). He has received countless awards and honors around the world. He was recently in Los Angeles, USA, working on new material from him that fans of his (he affectionately calls us "dears") are looking forward to. You have barely even begun to scratch the surface of Dimash's talent and ability. He has performed songs in 15 languages; Kazakh, Russian, English, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Serbian, Turkish, Sicilian, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, Arabic, and Japanese. Besides his native Kazakh tongue, he speaks fluent Russian, which is still an official language in most former Soviet Republics. Dimash is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin, which he says is a challenging language to learn. Dimash plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums. He usually performs for more than two hours during live concerts and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles.
A good professional vocalist has a range of about 3 octaves. According to some analysts, Diamsh's range is over 7 octaves (A1-D8), spanning across all four registers. He has continued to hone his skills and fine-tune and perfect his already unbelievable abilities even more. There does not seem to be a limit to what he can achieve vocally. I am excited to follow his journey. Dimash may go down in history as the most extraordinary vocal talent known to man. I cannot think of anyone, past or present, capable of doing what Dimash is capable of. I am still waiting on someone to name a single individual even remotely close to Dimash's mastery.

His songs, "Fly Away," "Stranger," and "Ave Maria," debuted live at New Wave 2021, and the latter two are on a whole new level. Dimash performs an alternate version of "Stranger" on the "Shine! Dimash also released "Ikanaide,'' performed during the 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival live stream, which is absolutely incredible. He sings in nearly flawless Japanese.
His release, “The Story of One Sky,” is a 13+ minutes mini movie masterpiece that will lead you on an emotional rollercoaster and leave you spellbound. It is possibly Dimash’s best work today and took three years to complete. It showcases all of Dimash’s vocal skills, spans across all four registers, and covers a wide range of genres and vocal techniques. I would suggest watching the live performance fan cam footage of the song if you want to truly experience his vocal performance without distraction. The music video’s visuals and storyline are so impressive and emotional that it can be overwhelming and quite difficult to focus on the vocals. Dimash’s song "El Amor En Ti" is a masterpiece live concert performance performed at the 2022 Almaty Concert. Dimash makes use of three hologram images of himself, each singing in a different register and portraying a different character, and Dimash himself appearing on stage in person adding a fourth register and character to the mix; it is an incredible performance.
Avoid any performance from "The World's Best." The show in L.A. was utterly disgraceful. The production team edited and cut all of Dimash's performances down to 2 minutes and cut out his Kazakh song for no reason.
Igor Krutoy, at the piano, composed this song the year Dimash was born. Then he waited 25 years for this moment! Initially the song was popularized by a female Russian singer whose interpretation was nothing like Dimash's tender "Dream." Many Dears are also fans of the talented Hua Chenyu, though Dimash is in a league of his own as the most complete vocal artist of our time. If you continue with Dimash, you will see that he delivers each song with confidence, emotion and perfect pitch! Thank you for your thoughtful reaction.

he did not write that. The man at the piano is the composer, Igor Krutoy. Dimash does compose music. Almost every song Dimash sings, the lyrics are thought provokng, meaningfull A reactor Fable Sphere says Dimash's soul sweats through his pores everytime he sings. Dimash is a very humble lovely human that's why we love him, he said he wants people to be transpoted to another dimension for a few minutes with his music.

Dimash didn't write this song, but one of the reasons why his fans "Dears" love him so much is his ability to live in a song, to give life to a song, to convey real feelings. The Japanese song "Ikanaide" performed by him - I highly recommend listening to it - was praised by the author of the song's lyrics, because Dimash was able to convey the message embedded in the words as the author thought and felt it.
Dimash is an extraordinary artist, not a singer, but an artist. He has fans and fan clubs all over the world, because his efforts to convey the message of peace and love through his music have made him an ambassador of love and peace not only in our hearts but also in reality. Dimash has songs that deal with different facets of the human being, father who writes to his girl, The soldier who is forced to leave his homeland and his elderly parents, of course there are themes of lost love and realized love. To the love we should feel towards ourselves. To the love of the parents that comes to the sacrifice. Beautiful topics that I hope at some point you will address. But speaking of loves that hurt, there is a theme of the fabulous Lara Fabian, she is an idol for Dimash, and I would like to know your opinion from your side of psychologist, Je suis malade is called the song and I know there's a video with English subtitles. Can I second this? Dimash is in a league of his own, you’ll gain so much from listening to him embody human emotions through his singing, but Je Suis Malarde by Lara Fabian ( Dimash’s idol) is a stunning portrayal of the madness of love lost, literally sick with pain and longing, lost and directionless without her love. As a psychologist, and as a human who ‘got’ the depth of Dimash’s performance, you’ll be stunned at how she lives the song before us all. 100%.
I forgot to add, Dimash also sings his soul out, bringing him to his knees on stage, singing (living) one of Lara’s songs, Adagio. You need the 2017 version from the Singer in China where he’s wearing a blue suit. He’s absolutely lost in the song and you can see him coming back to himself at the end, when his young smiley self reappears. It’s one of his top performances.

Yes, he has loads of fans, having been well established worldwide for the past 7 years as a result of his youtube videos. Fan clubs in 150 countries (that's nearly all of them!) and routinely draws fans from 60-70 countries to each of his sold out concerts, no matter where in the world they are taking place.

Yes, I believe you have nailed the premise of this song, in your first time reaction to our gifted artist Dimash. That love and worry or anxiety often go hand in hand. This is a great understanding of an exquisite song. It was written by the accompanying pianist. His name is Igor Krutoy. Dimash was a guest performer at a 2019 concert honouring the original Russian diva and artist of this song. Her name is Alla Pugecheva.
I also appreciate your view that Dimash is a pure performer and storyteller. A magnetic, inimitable style of performance are his trademark. He is masterful.

I second the recommendation of Story of One Sky for Prof. Nick's commentary. (my preference the 13 min movie version, composed, acted in, sung and I think directed by Dimash - probably also funded by him - SO MUCH Talent).
In the song Daybreak he also shows the story of losing his parents as a child ( not his ). His music video is a story he acts in THE STORY OF ONE SKY he created

PLEASE react do "SOS, Digital Show" with eng. subs.... It's about loosing ones will to live, after loosing the love of your life... It's a cover, but has become Dimashes signature song, especially after he lost one of his best friends to a freak robbery. In my opinion this has taken Dimash to new deapths with this song...

I think that if you knew of Diana Ankudinova you would use her performances in the same way.
She is as great a singer (which of course makes her too a god!) and she is even more precocious (being still only 20).
But in complete contrast to Dimash, and to his life-experience, she is the living embodiment of therapy - indeed salvation - through music.
When only 3 she was found in the middle of a Russian winter with a broken collar bone at a bus-stop, where her abusive mother had abandoned her. The authorities removed her to an orphanage, where, so traumatised that she had difficulty in speaking, she cried all the time. She was saved by one of the therapists there, a woman who adopted her.
She was given singing lessons to help with her speech, and, miraculously, within 10 years she was a world class performer.
She is a _much_ better actor than Dimash, and her stage persona is way more powerful.
Many of her performances are hugely evocative of her personal experience.
Two extraordinary examples of this are her performances of "Rechenka," when only 14 on the 2018 TV show "You are Super," and "Can't help falling in love" on the 2021 TV show "ShowMaskGoOn."
Both performances are strongly Jungian - the former involving a visit to the river that marks the boundary between the living and the dead, and the latter a siren that emerges from the ocean's depths.
@@jackburgess274 Thanks for the comment! 🙏 I also include her music and story in these works, as well as that of other artists, such as Zhou Shen, Gregory Lemarchal... Her life story and her interpretations are very moving, right? I recently worked on her story in a class about care and reception in childhood and adolescence. These stories need to be told so that we can all think of ways to better care for each other, as Dimash himself proposes in his songs, which is why I highlight him, but I work with songs and stories from many others. Dimash is such an incredible vocal storyteller, he truly immerses himself in the songs that he performs, and he does write some of his own songs, mostly the composition aspect, but recently Omir (Life) he released his own composition and he also wrote the lyrics, I would love to hear your analysis of that, especially because of the lyrics, visually you see Dimash throughout his musical journey, but the vocals and lyrics, so emotional. He does all three of those things, although he only occasionally writes the songs. The man at the piano is the composer, Igor Krutoy. When you see him accompanying Dimash, it indicates he composed the piece, but Dimash knows how to perform with his whole body and total focus.

Dimash really brings songs alive. Some of my favourites are Qaragym ai especially the time he sang it for his mentor/teacher who composed it, that passed away from COVID. Akkuym the MV version and Ikanaide that he sang in his studio for the Tokyo Jazz festival during the Pandemic. His MV Story of One Sky that he composed the music for. Has his heart in it and his feelings for wanting a world that is peaceful. You really can’t go wrong with any song by Dimash. Thank you for such a lovely and thoughtful reaction.

Dimash always becomes the song he sings, regardless whether it’s his own composition, composed by others especially for him, or other people’s songs like this one, SOS, etc. One thing is certain, he only sings a song that speaks to him, or one that he can feel the soul.

The composer is maestro Igor Krutoy (the pianist) and the lyrics are by Valerya Gorbacheva. But it is not just a cover... Dimash is an independent singer and multi-instrumentalist with a Master in Composition. He totally changed the arrangement of the original song, included the "Ave Maria" part and made this song his own version. He is really famous in China, Russia and Kazaksthan, his homeland, but he has fanclubs all over the world. Hug from Brazil!

He transforms/ immerses himself and becomes the “character” in every song. He feels and becomes the song, and not just the singer, but as if he is possessed- his soul leaves his body in a trans and replaced by the person who is the actual character the song is about. I never idolize anyone prior to him, but I listen to him almost every night since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and my spouse and daughter make fun of me. My 6 year old daughter also knows the lyrics to his songs and sings along with them. He is incredible and makes me tear up or hold my breath almost every time I hear him. I am a singer and I admire his musical talent and genius. He is unsurpassable and an incomparable once in a lifetime phenomenon. I can’t wait for him to have another concert in the US for my daughter and I to witness.

Dimash is brilliant. His first song I ever listened to was SOS and after seeing him perform it at least 200 times I still get goosebumps as he takes us for a journey into the heavens. Also, STRANGER is another work of art a must see.

He really feels them and I understand that if a song doesn’t ‘get’ him like that, then it doesn’t pass muster and won’t be in his repertoire . The composer of this song, Igor Krutoy, said that Dimash is unique in the way he ‘feels’ the music first. Well I’m glad Dimash is so discerning because everything he sings has the same sincerity about it.

The pianist here, Igor Krutoy wrote this song before Dimash was born. Igor is a Russian billionaire composer/music mogul. He wrote it for his wife. Igor came out of retirement in 2018 when he first heard Dimash sing. I believe Igor’s wife did die at an early age of cancer, but I think it was after he composed this song for her. Since 2018 Igor has gone on to write many masterpieces for Dimash. This performance was at The Kremlin on the occasion of the 70th birthday of the original singer of this song. The original is nothing like Dimash’s version but she did have a hit with it in the 90’s.
Dimash is extremely famous all over the world but he won’t sign a contract with the west, because he wants to sing in all genres from Opera to Rock to Folk to Pop to Rap. He has recently been working on a project in LA with 16 times Grammy Award winner David Foster, but we don’t know what it is yet!
Dimash is considered by the most famous vocal coaches to be THE greatest vocalist of ALL time with his 7.2 octave range. His parents are both famous singers in Kazakhstan (where Dimash was born and still lives), his Mother sings Opera and his Father Pop. Dimash sounds like both of them but better!
