Dr Nic #reacts to, #analyzes, and #explores various media to draw out useful #wisdom concerning #wellbeing and beyond.
Bio
I'm a Psychologist in the #UK who specialises in an approach to #mentalhealth called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (#ACT). I have also written 5 books, the latest of which (The Unbreakable Student) has been featured in many mainstream media outlets, and I co-direct an organization (Connect) that provides a wellbeing curriculum to primary schools.
Importantly, although I read every comment, I cannot reply to comments. Whilst I love the idea of building relationships with folk out there, there just isn't enough time in the day, especially with a young family. Finally, a lot of reaction videos are copyright protected and so if you appreciate some of my videos and wish to support the channel then you can via the Buy Me A Coffee link below.

Couldn't Stop Playing!!! - Roll Me Away (Bob Seger) - UK Psychology Professor Reacts.
Today's reaction/analysis is concerned with the song "Roll Me Away" by Bob Seger. As I listen, I’ll delve into the powerful themes of freedom and choice that resonate throughout the lyrics. This song captures that rebellious spirit of wanting to escape and explore life on your own terms, a feeling many of us can relate to. I’ll also reflect on how our relationships can shape and sometimes limit our sense of freedom, drawing from both the song and my own experiences.
Throughout the analysis, I hope to highlight the psychological implications of feeling trapped versus the exhilaration of freedom. As we journey through the narrative of this song together, I encourage you to consider what free...

Dimash is a non political Moslem who thinks of Allah as we Christians think of God, and he has a relationship with God that you do not see in other Moslems. Kazakhstan is multi-cultural, with 60% Moslem, 30% Christian, and 10% other, and they have no problems with the cultural mix of Baltics, Turkics, Russians, Mongels, and is Asian, and is a very open nation. The Iluminati was hiding in there and in Ukraine, and Russia kicked them out of Kazakhstan recently, and is currently kicking them and the left over Natzis and NATO out of Ukraine. So Kazakhstan has a fairly free government that appreciates it's peoples, and also is rich from rare earth minerals, oil and gas, I think, and everyone there looks healthy and well off.
He arrived out of that porthole at the back, on a commission, ....then he stikes some opposition and has to do it his way, singing Fly Away, ....then mission completed he goes back to where he came from, singing Ave Maria as a song of worship and victory.
Both and all. Think you’re over analysing it .
Night Moves is another great song to looking back at his youth. Check it out.
you the best man keep going and more juiceeeeee
There is no clima change..only a way to make money
Always a pleasure to see your reaction to Dimash's performances. He is the best singer in the world, his talent and charisma are unmatchable.
As to the meaning of the lyrics, I've thought the "Stranger" is an immigrant from a war torn country who has lost everything and must find the strength to begin all over again.
You are trying too hard to fit a Central Asian Muslim into Western esoteric psychology. Kazakhs, like Tatars and Mongols, feel totally attached to their entire history, not just to their present life. As Dimash enters more and more into the modern West, he finds himself having to, not give up his ancestral way of thinking, but augment how he thinks and responds to the world around him. Considering that Kazakhstan has been mostly isolated for centuries knowing about the West only what the USSR would allow them to know, this is a HUGE social learning curve. And I am certain Dimash has felt the fish out of water more than once in his journey. This Krutoy composition fits the singer very well.

There are more and more people that remember their past life/s. There are many people from other similar human rases(ca. 40-50 000 different rases in this quadrant of the galaxy). We are caught in a recarnation loop program to serve the overlords(walk in souls ETs) controlling everything in a dbl. matrix. Some are saying its possible to escape the loop program.
This songs touches me PROFOUNDLY as an immigrant to a new country, having left civil war & difficulty (but also my entire family) behind. Starting ftom scratch, building a new community, relationships, and even professional credibility. Thats what i take from it
That instrument is called a Kobyz
Dimash Fly Away Analysis: ruclips.net/video/uv8u6VCnbmo/видео.html Dimash Stranger Analysis: ruclips.net/video/Jtn3_4sql4g/видео.html
Bonjour.
I thought it was about immigration. That people are having to leave their own land, heritage and history to start anew.
Gracias por tan interesantes comentarios! Gracias por reaccionar al maravilloso Dimash! 🇲🇽❤️💕🇲🇽❤️💕🇲🇽❤️🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
IMO Its about movement of peoples to other lands
Pienso que esta canción habla de la necesidad de migrar que tienen muchas personas por la guerra, el hambre, las condiciones ambientales actualmente. Dimash es Embajador de Buena Voluntad de la Organización Internacional para las Migraciones
Toooo many stops 👎 Comment after... please!
Dear Nic, when we give up our belief systems, ideas of right and wrong, attitudes towards the strange and unfamiliar, when we let go of our past (which does not begin with our birth, but is characterised by the experiences of generations before me and thus influences me and my image of this world) and, in conjunction with this, our cultural imprints, we enter new territory. Our perception has changed. Everything seems strange. What will carry us? Do I have the strength to embrace it or do I want to go back to the old, the familiar, a ‘country’ in which I feel safe? Tolerance, the commitment to peace, issues that Dimash is all about, require the abandonment of ‘certainties’ and the widening of the mind and, above all, the heart. This is where I see the connection between ‘Strange’ and ‘The story of one sky’. I have been travelling the world for two and a half years and have often experienced the challenge of not moving in the safe harbour of evaluations, but of allowing the new, the different, the foreign to have an effect on me. Great art is always ambiguous, multi-layered, has space and depth. You can immerse yourself in it in many different ways, and in the end you will always encounter yourself in one way or another. With this in mind: thank you for showing yourself by sharing your thoughts and feelings. Rita
You're correct, The kobyz/qobyz is the precursor to the violin: only 2 strings and made from a single piece of wood. Also, I'd say Dimash is always walking on new ground at least metaphorically speaking. I felt like the stranger in a strange land refers to his efforts to cover the whole globe. About the time of this concert, he had gone or was about to go to the U.S. to work with other musicians and experiment with some new musical genres. If you haven't listened to his music video for "When I've Got You, " that's the sort of consistent growth I see in him.
Igor Krutoy wrote the music for this song to show Dimash’s abilities, Sharon Vaughan wrote the lyrics. Dimash has been studying since he was 5 years old.he has been in training & continues to train his voice everyday.
I feel this song is about reincarnation. What are your thoughts?
I think you would like Spanish song that Dimash performed at his concert in Almaty 2022.09: this is stunning performance with beautiful lyrics about dark and light sides of the human soul. ruclips.net/video/L7PML9UcKwE/видео.htmlsi=ugw1AUduLluu2hOb
When I first heard this performance, I could so easily relate to it. My childhood was very stable, but as an adult, each life change (e.g., marriage; divorce; changing careers; moving to a new city or state; losing my house/my savings/my job all at the same time; betrayal) required MAJOR adjustments. The mention of ancient times reminded me that humans have always been confronted by change, by challenges. It’s part of life. And our free will gives us the option to choose how we cope in the new environment (“strange land”). Who will we be? A victim? An adventurer? A martyr? It can be pretty overwhelming, so questioning whether we have the strength to start over is normal.
Fun fact about him... that he is Muslim and influenced by the Arab and Islamic culture
There are a lot of people who are moving to new countries because of the inhospitable conditions in there own countries. That is my explanation of the lyrics of Stranger.
<<<I'M glad you made this video it reminds me of my transformation from a nobody to good home $89k biweekly and a good daughter full of love

Lovely! I enjoyed it like I enjoy a $100k monthly around the turn!!!
Great reacción and comments .
Thank you for bringing such argumments about the lyrics. I think nothing is in vain. Dimash is a human being so specisl that must be studyed. He is lovely, respect elderlies, family, fans, Nature, Animals and has a special care about childrem. He is beyond the people nowadays. That is why he is so loved for all of us and all around the world. Hugs from Brazil to you 🫂🇧🇷🇧🇷
My first thought this was about refugees or migrants starting over. Earlier this year, he became an official Goodwill Ambassador for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) - UN Migration Agency. Dimash said, "In my role as an IOM Goodwill Ambassador, I am proud to advocate for the human rights of migrants. Let’s unite for the sake of a world where everyone is protected and open to opportunities." Dimash is muti-layered. It wouldn't be surprised if this song has other meanings simultaneously.
Yes, totally agree with you, sir!Thank you?
Поздрав из Србије! ❤❤❤❤
I was at the Almaty concert, and people were crying and stunned hearing this song for the first time. The song was premiered in private to the World Religious Leaders earlier that month, so this was the first public performance. This song is not entertainment, it has too deep a message. Yes, Dimash is a global phenomenon, people from 70-80 countries went to Kazakhstan to attend this concert, I met fans from South Africa to Peru, Japan to UK, ages 10-80+, it was an amazing concert. Of course Dimash deserves to be much more well known, but I fear he and his message is not for everyone, too many people in the world are not ready for him. In the latest concerts this year, the video on the screen when this song was performed is different, a mutilated Dimash (many cuts on his face and body) was shown, it is a shocking visual, a lot of times we only watch Dimash and not the screen, but there is a lot going on all over. Did you notice the WWII and 9-11 scenes on the screen? Not in this concert, but in many others he gave a speech in English about the state of the world, that wars are still happening and children are suffering. He often ends with the words "We need peace". We can all tell and feel what he means.
Dimash chooses his performances depending entirely on the song and its message. Not every song has Dimash using his exceptional range, some performances are only an octave or so. Also some lyrics are meant to be interpreted in different ways depending on the individual listener.
Dimash sõylediği her şarkıyı her hücresiyle yaşıyor.Lütfen İKANAİDE şarkısına tepki verin.Teşekkürler.Türkiye'den selamlar.👍🙋
Someone said long ago that Dimash is an old soul. Many of us felt that this young man is a messenger (sorry if it sounds crazy). But to spend three years on creating Under One Sky before all the wars started, calling it Requiem! Uniting all the religions and actually blaming them for what's happening, and then making them walk together in another world without sunshine, is HIS message. Same with Ave Maria. He asked Igor Krutoy to write it for the sake of unity. Jewish composer, muslim singer, christian prayer. Dimash is unbelievably fearless, besides being spiritually mature. His music unites East and West, ancient times with modernity, he floats over them like he does with his voice. Again. He knows whether he realizes it or not.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT DIMASH HIMSELF!! THIS is what you've missed about the lyrics of this song. Dimash is this good.. as you've described.. because his message is of utmost importance. Here is the meaning of this song.. you must distinguish every word as having meaning.. separate the words.. "MY ancient heart" is the most meaningful phrase. No.. that person did not exist in ancient times.. that person's ancestors existed in ancient times. And their ancestors are the ones who climbed among those hills.. to where they are being sent. The key to this entire performance is.. "Somewhere in my ancient heart I wandered" says they're ancient ancestors climbed among those hills.. that person is, the refugees, whose ANCESTORS existed in ancient times. Dimash is singing about the REFUGEES from now! Today! As from Afghanistan.. Ukraine.. the Gaza Strip.. Etc.. say it as long as your heart can bear.......... No.. they're not born again. They are current refugees! People.. humans.. here and now.. trying to survive in a strangers land to where they are being sent. This is NOT about reincarnation (that is the easiest and most carefree way to explain the meaning of this song and is totally meaningless!) I have been following Dimash for more that eight years.. and I know him well.. much better than most.. and I know his symbolism.. I know his inferences.. his references.. he is brilliant.. more brilliant than anyone could ever know.. he is a prophet.. and his music speaks his prophecies. Dimash's madness jumps out at you with great purpose!.. the story is told by the lyrics.. which hold the key. In my opinion Dimash is a prophet.. whose true destiny has yet to be revealed. Dimash offers a message with many songs he sings.. he mourns death.. and the destruction of human life. His way of speaking to humanity rings the bells in the sky. Take him for what you feel in your heart.. believe what you feel for you are not alone.. there are many who do. His heart aches with compassion.. the scars of war and the desolation of humankind have endured long enough. Grace has been born within him and grows… like a brewing storm. (While there are different interpretations of Dimash Qudaibergen's "Stranger".. the following is that of Pete Smith.) "Stranger" was released by Dimash during the beginning of the evacuation of Afghanistan and then is also appropriate for Ukraine and the Gaza Strip. In consideration of Dimash’s birthplace and current residence, and the timely release of "Stranger," it took much courage for Dimash and Igor to perform this epic song. At the beginning, the swirling fingerprint behind Dimash denotes a very personal and epic human experience.. this is about people. If you put one of these displaced people in Dimash's place as singing these words, it all becomes unmistakably clear. If I were leaving Afghanistan, or if I were anyone forcibly evicted from my beloved homeland, and having to begin my life all over again, if I have the strength, I would want Dimash to sing this to the world for me. He portrays them wandering bewilderedly to a new land and feeling haunting memories of their ancestors who had been there before. You can taste the diverse ethnicities of these displaced people with his voice and the complex variations of their cultures with his four part melisma representing the desolation of men, women, children and babies. How right on and how affective this is.. you can almost hear them crying. He has a way of making a hard point.. in a very magnificently poignant manner. Dimash and Igor at the piano and composer as well, are one of a kind, and there may not be others like them in a thousand years.. or perhaps never. In my opinion Dimash is a prophet. The word 'prophet' doesn't necessarily need to refer to a religious phenomenon.. but then again it often does. It can refer to anyone who delivers messages or teachings from a supernatural source.. and one who acts as an intermediary with humanity.. which Dimash has done time and time again. Dimash is also a messenger for ALL religions.. listen to him sing "The Story of One Sky".. and "We need Peace" at the end in his 'live' version at his Almaty concert.. and then deny he is a prophet. And as far as a prophecy is concerned.. you will find one in Dimash's "Qairan Elim." Prophethood has existed in all cultures of humanity.. prophets can also give us messages about our inner selves and our place in our world.. like Dimash does with his mastery of symbolism in "When I've Got You." Even those who doubt the spiritual conviction about Dimash and his connection with the supernatural will unknowingly be led to a better place. Others will find peace in just knowing all they need do is "listen to his voice." His magical reparation of the body and the human spirit is undeniable. Welcome him and embrace him.. for his future has yet to be revealed. I believe Dimash's special ability goes far beyond practice and genetics and is inherited from beyond the stars. He possesses a worldly spirit for the caring of humanity, love for his family, his Dears, and his music. They will write many good things about him and the grace that surrounds him will spread to all that touch him in so many different ways. Perhaps he is much more than a great singer and a magical artist. Yes.. I believe Dimash IS a prophet.. even if others do not.. his story holds the key and is surely written somewhere.. out there… waiting to be told.
👉That is the premiere of “Stranger” at the New Wave in 2021 (International competition for young performers of popular music, founded in 2002 by Russian composer and music titan Igor Krutoy and Latvian pianist and composer Raimonds Pauls, and later expanded by Russian superstar Alla Pugacheva. Dimash has been invited several times since 2018 as a guest and as a juror). Maestro Igor Krutoy and Dimash Qudaibergen have created the really unique song in English with enchanting oriental melodies. “It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience... I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way”. - Krutoy said. (dimashnews) A Dear hits the nail on the head with this statement: “These are the voices of the world singing the tragedy of human migration forced by tragic circumstances.” At the piano Igor Krutoy (Krutoy means 'Cool', *1954 in Ukraine SSR). He lives and works in Moscow/ Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). His family is in the US now. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship. Dimash said also in an interview about the collaboration with Igor Krutoy that it is important to him that the songs are written in such a way that there is room for variations ... so every performance of a song is a surprise and every Dear can choose his favorite presentation... 👉 Here is playing the best Kobys player in the world, Dimash’s friend Olzhas Qurmanbek. This bowl-neck lute played with a bow is is an old Turkic stringed instrument and called Kobys, Qobyz or Kylkobyz in Kazakhstan. The Kyrgyz variant, for example, is called the kyl-kyyak. The Kobys is the oldest string instrument in the world and according to a German scientist, it spread beyond the borders of the nomadic area of Central Asia and became the mother (prototype) of all European string instruments. (Turkic means: The Turkic peoples are a collection of ethnic groups from Central, East, North and West Asia as well as parts of Europe and North Africa who speak Turkic languages. Difference between Turkic and Turkish - ruclips.net/video/PqxhtBecVeg/видео.html ) A legend about Kobyz says that this instrument was created by the great steppe narrator Korkyt-Ata, who lived in the 10th century and that the tool is charged with magical and even mystical properties and sounds like animal voices. In addition, the Kazakh people believed that the spirits of their ancestors spoke to them through this music. The old outlook and piety towards their instruments and music was constantly preserved in traditional Kazakh society and ensured the highest spiritual level of musical art and a special respectful attitude towards musical instruments. Simple people, for example, did not dare to touch the shaman's Kobyz. It is said: The balance between the courses of life and death on earth can be maintained by playing the Kobyz.
Our soul is stranger on Earth. When we born, on new body, we are on complete new situacijom, even we live before on Earth. I think it is about reincarnation.

Es tan metafórica la letra que podemos interpretarla de varias formas… pero al final se puede entender que habla de renovarse, de empoderarse…
First time watching your channel. You have come closer, in my opinion to understanding this song than any other channel. IMO - He is describing the birth death birth cycle. Each life having to start over and rediscover the tools we have learned in previous lifetimes to continue to grow spiritually.
Dr.Nic, I guess you have never been an immigrant in a foreign country with another language and culture, having to start your life from scratch and proving to yourself that you are worth of something. 🙂 And you have never lost the job you did for 25 years, having to learn and start a totally new career in your 50-s, just because they will not hire you at your age for your previous profession. 🤗 And you have never divorced in the middle of your life, packed your bags and left home forever with 2 kids to start again. If you did, the song would hit the bell for you. 🤗
For me this song is a psychological challenge to excel. Being disabled calls for constant battles. Do I have the strength to conquer all the new challenges I must face? From the depths of doubt, to the screaming at the top of my lungs, I Will Not Fail! Dimash touches the core of the soul with his music. I would also like this to simply be the base ideology and song for an action/rpg video game ♥
