    Generally speaking, a third of a can into each is an excellent "maintenance dose" for vehicles that are in relatively good shape as far as byproduct buildup is concerned, and it'll help reduce varnishing and gumming in the fuel system as well as helping break up sludge in the oil pathways.
    However, as homefry818 said, when doing a full-on induction clean it'll usually take the whole can, and we've had a few cases where it took two cans to do the job.

    Awesome Video I Wish I Would Of Found It Yesterday!!! LoL I'm A 25 Yr Old Woman That Loves DIY'N It I Have Done Everything In My House From Installing Brand New Copper Plumbing To Installing Brand New Lights And Having To Run Completely New Wiring... But I Love To Learn And If IDK How To Do Something RUclips Is My Best Friend LoL But After Watching Numerous Videos About How To Clean A MAF Sensor & A Throttle Body I Go Outside To Find Out My Car (2001 Pontiac Grand Prix 3800 series 2) Was Not Built Like 99% Of The Videos (STORY OF MY LIFE LOL) But I Figured It Out Now I Just Have To Reinstall It LOL So I Wanted To Double Check Before Attempting And This Video Was Awesome & Exactly What I Needed Last Night Except I Wish You Showed Exactly How To Reconnect The Cables... +Rebella~Lanay You go Girl !!!!!! Wow if I wasn't married and 30 years younger I'd ask you to marry me!!! Take no care to that nasty reply from "bozo" boy, just another guy threatened by a smart woman who can do anything she puts her mind to. Just be careful, there are lots of great videos on you tube but some may be not the best way to do something or apply to your vehicle. Watch a video and then investigate more which it sounds like you are perfectly able to do so. You may want to get a subscription for your car to alldatadyi dot com. The old style repair manuals are not written or authorized by the car mfg's and do not reflect updated and changed important repair or maintenance info. They have 2 sample vehicle repair/maintenance guides, plus all the technical bulletins that have been issued for your vehicle. They could be something as simple as a torque spec change to repairs for problems that are just shy of recall status which I have found out about for my 2001 Impala.. I don't work for them, just pointing out a valuable reference for you at low cost, they do have same data used by each of thee major car makers. Keep doing what you are doing Rebella !!!!

    Where did you get that metering hose? Can't seem to find one. Good instructional video. I was having a problem with low idle (car cutting off at stops) and an idle surging issue in Park and Neutral on my 95 Eagle Summit. A thorough cleaning of the throttle body and IAC valve seems to have solved it. Thanks.

    If it has vacuum it works. It'll all make it into the intake without an issue.

    Great video. Would've been great to cut forward when the vehicle's just sitting there, but otherwise very informative.

    Since you have the MAF out, shouldn't that have been cleaned as well (using MAF sensor cleaner)? Also, why not clean the other side of the throttle body simply by popping off that grill?

    • @OneSourceAutomotive
      @OneSourceAutomotive  8 лет назад

      +Monkey Kiss It's never a bad idea, although MAFs are easy to break so folks that try this should use a light touch and only use cleaners intended for that purpose as you mention.

      +OneSourceAutomotive I'll be trying this myself for the first time this weekend (2000 Grand Prix GT). Thanks for the video, it was helpful.

      OneSourceAutomotive I don't know where to find that 2nd line that you hooked the clear hose up to, so would it be fine to use the 1st one, and the vacuum line that goes to the brake booster or a.c. port?

    Can I suggest to anyone doing this , that they give the car a oil and filter change after as well .

    • @OneSourceAutomotive
      @OneSourceAutomotive  8 лет назад

      +commodore665 Oil and coolant, as both flow through the heads and intake on GM V6s, and because you'll get at least some coolant drippage into the oil. (We automatically do oil changes on intake gasket jobs as a rule.)

    Sadly, there's no realistic way to capture the smoke. Fortunately, the particulate content is basically carbon and combustion byproducts, which are heavier than air and will settle out in the form of a film of dust.

    You must be be kidding me that you're dumping the whole Sea Foam through the vacuum line without a regulator valve? You can either kill the converter or hydro-lock the engine. Or both.

    • @jeffclinansmith6207
      @jeffclinansmith6207 9 лет назад

      kenislaw I have done this hundreds of times over the years on the 3800 using the exact same vacuum. I have never run into a problem.I am curious, what have you seen?

    • @OneSourceAutomotive
      @OneSourceAutomotive  8 лет назад +2

      +kenislaw We use a custom-made metering hose that lets the engine inhale the Sea Foam at a controlled pace.

      OneSourceAutomotive where can I find this metering hose at?
