  • Went out on December 30th to bank fish for stripers at Lake Mead. Went out with my friend Dwayne (aka Blue Hand Fishing) to test our luck at Boulder Harbor. There is a short 15 - 20 minute hike from the parking. We were able to hook up to several fish this day. I appreciate everyone watching my videos and wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous 2024!

      Thank you! Yes, I will be doing a catch and cook soon using the mini stove. Just need to find a good location where I don’t have to hike too far to bring the pan, oil, salt/ pepper, bread or rice. I’m thinking perhaps @ special events beach but just want to let you know I’m working on it.

      @@Busydad maybe hatchery cove?

    • @Busydad
      @Busydad  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, that would be my second choice just because it gets busy on the weekends when I usually fish but I could do it on a weekday too.

    Hi Peter,
    This was one of your best! I looked for landmarks to find your spot but didn't recognize any except the crane in the background. Facing the marina, do you go off to your right following the contour of the lake? (around the right side of the marina) You say that you walk 10 to 15 mins? I noticed that when you left the area, the contour of the ground was pretty steep? Any other directions you could give me? I have your info. on the watch and directions to the park (Hemenway Valley Park). OK, all for now. Later...

      Hi George,
      I’m glad you liked it. So we parked at the bottom of Boulder Harbor and walked along the left side. We walked another 100 yards or so from the corner and fished just before the water intake tower. There was a little flat beach area. Yes it was a little steep and very rocky so be sure to wear good shoes and be careful.

    I’d love to go out with y’all some day, I’m new to the area and would love to add a stripper to the list of species I’ve caught

      Sure thing. I usually go out Saturdays or Sundays depending on my son’s schedule. I have a few obligations in January but February looks good if that works for you. Lmk. Thank you 🙏

    Hello from Alaska, what's the limit fish ( srippers) per person? And the catfish limit? Thanks keep on fishing!!!

    • @Busydad
      @Busydad  2 месяца назад

      Here’s the limit here in Nevada:
      5 trout, 6 black bass, 25 catfish and 15 crappie. No limit on striped bass less than 20 inches total length. The daily limit on striped bass 20 inches in length or longer is 20 fish. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching. 🙏

    By the way I like how you do your videos, is the water intake going to have a sign or something I should be looking for on the ground or in the water?

    • @Busydad
      @Busydad  4 месяца назад

      There is no sign. Just stay on the left of the harbor. Once you reach the main lake the bank will bend towards the left. Continue for few hundred yards and you should see the old water tower. I know the water level went up since my last video there so not sure how the bank looks now but you should be able to find a spot to fish. Some spots are very rocky so be sure to wear good shoes.

    2 hooks each rod? 4 hooks in the water per fisherman? is this legal? what setup is this I would like to try...

    • @Busydad
      @Busydad  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes, each licensed angler can have 2 poles and each pole can have up to 2 hooks. I use a Carolina rig with 2 hooks tied as a T knot. Hope this helps.

    What side of the harbor are you on? If your standing at Captain jacks fishing or the end of the road looking at the water, do you go left or right

    • @Busydad

      From the parking facing the water, I go on the left side (towards the water intake tower). I hope that helps.

      All on frozen anchovies. Simple Carolina Rig with 2 hooks. I use 1/2 of anchovy on each hook. I hope this helps.

    • @Busydad
      @Busydad  5 месяцев назад +1

      I’ve been buying them at Walmart but I know they’ve been out recently. So, alternative option would be Sunset Market and Liquor at 1000 E Lake Mead Parkway. Their price is a bit higher but they are open 24 hours. I hope this helps.

    Is boulder harbor actually fishable? 1983 last time i fished on the sand bar on the very end little island.

    • @Busydad
      @Busydad  7 месяцев назад +1

      The harbor is still closed but you can park and walk to several spots just outside the harbor. If the water level goes up a little more they maybe able to reopen. If they do I will make a video to let everyone know. I like it here as it doesn’t get too busy even on the weekends. I appreciate you watching my video. 🙏
