Thank you so much for watching and commenting. 🙏 please note Government Wash Road and 8 Mile Road is still closed. Hopefully, they’ll open again soon. Tight lines!
I'm not in that state or planning to go there but hats off to you my brother for sharing your knowledge. Me and the rest of the bank fisherman/women really appreciate it
Really great video! Glad you showed all these spots for us bank anglers to check out!! There's a couple of these spots that i have yet to go to and your video made me want to check them out. Awesome job!
Thank you I really appreciate it. I can’t wait to see you land a big carp. Hopefully I’ll run into you at one of these spots. Thank you for your kind words 🙏
Man I access every single area here on my seadoo since I live in Vegas. It’s very interesting seeing the land routes for these places. I also like to fish but I haven’t fished in fresh water in years maybe I should try this. Thanks for vid man
Thank you for watching my videos. I’ve also seen a few people fish off their Seadoo too. Hopefully the water level will start going back up soon. Thanks for you kind words. 🙏
Thanks for sharing! My son and I ran into you on your way out from Boulder Harbor was nice to meet you! We also got skunked that day lots of bites but no hook ups!
Yes, I remember meeting you and your son. Getting skunked is part of the game. It happens to all of us. But it makes you feel better when you do catch one. 😃
Thanks for sharing the different fishing spots. My daughters were in the group of volunteers cleaning up Boulder Harbor boat ramp, I showed them your video, and they were very excited to see them self on your video. I fish Boulder harbor all the time.
That is awesome! It’s so sad to see some people trash our beautiful lake and other fishing and camping spots. I do too. I’m sure I’ll run into you one of these days. Thank you for watching and commenting. 🙏
Thanks for this, i want to start fishing again! Planning a trip this weekend and i think i know were im going to go now. Also i know frozen anchovies are the way lol. Really want to make some fried fresh catfish.
Welcome to Vegas! Usually, bass spawning time is in the spring between May and June. All bass lures will produce. During summer, top water lures, swim baits, and plastics (ned rig and senko) as wells as spinner baits should work. There are various coves around lake mead if you’re fishing for bass from shore but if you have a boat or kayak there are more spots. Thank you for watching my videos 🙏
Thank you very much. Coming from Ohio and been here for 20 years as I never explore lake until my son it old enough now. This Friday 9/13 I’m taking my son to the lake and trying to find a spot that he will catch a fish. Any recommendations?
Thank you for watching and commenting. 🙏 Hatchery Saddle Point, Boulder Harbor, the fishing pier are spots you might try. For Boulder Harbor you’ll need to hike a bit so if you want easy access, Saddle Point or the fishing pier might be a good spot. It will be best if you could get there early in the morning. Once the sun comes up and gets hot, the fish will go into deeper waters. Good luck and I hope your son will catch a big one!
Thank you for watching and commenting. If I’m fishing for stripers and catfish, my go to bait is frozen anchovies on a Carolina rig. Others use night crawlers and stink bait also. For carp, I use pack bait (panko & corn flake cereal) in the cage with can corn on the hook or hair rig with fake corn. With lures, I use top water lures like whopper plopper or spook and swim baits for Stripers and bass as well as ned rig (for smallies). If I’m on my kayak I’ll also use plastic worms, A-rig, spinner bait and jigs. I hope this helps. 🙏
For trout go to Willow Beach. They usually release them on Thursday (sometimes Friday) morning. You can go for trout as well as stripers looking to eat the released trout. Once it gets cooler they’ll start releasing trout at Veterans Memorial Park (Boulder Pond) as well as Sunset Park. Check out the NDOW’s site for release schedule. Thanks for watching my videos. 🙏
Hi Peter, nice meeting you at Boulder Harbor last weekend. Quick question though. Which of the spots featured on this vid are good for carp? Thanks and hope to see you out there again.
It was nice meeting you too! For carp, I’m sure they are everywhere but I like Hatchery Saddle Point, Special Events Beach and canoe/kayak beach(once it gets cooler w/ less families out and about). If it’s not too busy the fishing pier is good for carp too. I also like Box Car cove. Of course things can change with the drop in water level. I hope this helps and I look forward to seeing you on the water soon!
I usually get them at Walmart. It’s in the fishing section. I made a video highlighting some additional places. ruclips.net/video/Fain3Tb14FA/видео.htmlsi=KNxvYQVRjBvzvPse
Saw you this morning at Government Wash. There were those 3 very loud individuals to your right. The female and two males. I was off to your left with my son. I waved at you once. Anyway great video and awesome to see you out there fishing. By the way we didn’t get anything there or down by Boulder Beach. How did you do?
Yes, those guys were loud. They were blasting their music earlier and it makes it tough as I need to remove the music as RUclips will demonetize videos with copyrighted music. Anyway, I decided to fish at Govt Wash as I heard they are closing the Government Wash Road on August 1st. Not sure if it’s temporary or permanent but I’ll do some research and let folks know about it in the video. I was able to catch 3 stripers, a catfish and a huge snapping turtle today. After I went to check out a few spots off the 8 mile road for future visits. Next time come say hello and I could include you and your son in the video. Take care and hope to see you guys again soon!
@@Busydad that’s awesome. We headed over towards Boulder beach where that launch is that closed. We walked around to the other side. Got skunked. Headed back out Wednesday night. We are thinking of camping up north around Stewart Point. Have you ever fished up there?
For stripers, live shad (by cast net) will produce you the most fish. Otherwise, Carolina rig with frozen anchovies. Swim baits, Alabama rig, top water plugs if fishing by artificial. For bass (large mouth and small mouth) night crawlers, swim baits, top water lures and plastics (ned rig, senko). For trout, power bait, spoons, spinners, and flies. For Catfish, Carolina rig with night crawlers, anchovies, chicken, hot dog, marshmallows, stink bait should work. For bluegill and sun fish night crawlers on a small hook using a bobber. For carp use pack bait with corn (or fake corn) on the hook. If you have access to a boat or kayak there are more options too. But hopefully this helps. If not let me know. Welcome to Las Vegas and hope to see you on the water one day. Thank you for watching my videos. 🙏
It’s a rod holder I made as the white pole didn’t fit the spiral rod holder. Maybe I’ll include it in one of my upcoming videos. I simply attached an aluminum angle to a plastic rod holder with a couple of screws. I hope this helps.
I went out to mead on Friday and caught a 5.2 lb largemouth 2 smallies that were about 2 pounds each and like 7 stripers. The spot I went to is well known but I hiked like 2 miles to get to my secret cove.
If you fishing from the bank they are usually in various coves at Lake Mead. I’ve caught them near Hemenway, Hatchery Saddle Point, Boulder Harbor Sunset Lookout. With the water level dropping they tend to move around. Join the Southern Nevada kayak Anglers group on Facebook as they do monthly tournaments for bass and they can probably give you a much better answer. Desert Shore is a gated community but the ponds in there have good size large mouth. Unfortunately, you do need to live there or fish with someone who has a pass. Not sure where you live but Floyd Lamb Park also stock bass there too. Hope this helps.
Is there a way on youtube i can disable the music? I know, turn the volume down, but i dont want to miss talking. Otherwise I think it might be a good video. Thank u
In Google map type in “Hatchery Saddle Point” then it should direct you. Otherwise, from Lake shore road, turn at Saddle Cove Road which becomes Dick’s Cove Rd. I hope this helps. If not let me know. Thanks for watching. 🙏
Last year we got a new suv that is an AWD but prior to that I took my regular 2WD all over. Just got to be careful when the water recedes or if the road is super sandy.
Saddle cove, box car cove, even the Las Vegas Wash is where I would go for blue gills. I also caught them at veterans memorial park and sunset park. Hope this helps.
I haven’t made it out to Overton yet. Hopefully I’ll get an opportunity soon. Thank you for watching. I just got my computer fixed so I can finally edit and upload new content. Thank you for watching 🙏
Hi Peter, Nice video! I initially thought you were going to do them all in one day! Then I realized "he can't." Went fishing last week at Floyd Lamb-caught 1 carp. Put up a nice fight and finally I christened my new net. Worked well. BTW, how do you rate that Casio fishing watch? Any faith in it? My watch was positive and I did catch a carp but its too early to say if it really works. OK, all for now. Will catch you next time. George Bonafino
So far I really like the watch. It seems to be working pretty consistently, especially fishing at Lake Mead. Not sure how it works at local ponds as I’ve caught a few when the indicator was blank but it gives me some knowledge that I don’t possess for $20. Congrats on catching a carp as I’m sure it put up a great fight. Thank you always for watching and commenting. 🙏 Stay cool and talk soon!
I meant from where it was in 2022. The water level will always fluctuate depending on the In flow vs out flow. I’m sure we’ll see more drop as we head into the triple digit temperatures. Thank you for watching 🙏
Great video, thank you for effort and taking the time to share all these cool places to fish!

Thanks bro. Ant tips would help as well. Not used to fishing lakes, I'm a salt water dog.
Thanks brotha we’re going out tomorrow and was looking for a good spot to bank fish
Have fun and I hope you catch a big one. Stay cool. 🙏
18:43 How long would you say the walk was from the parking area to where you settled in at Boulder Harbor?
About 15-20 min. It gets very rocky so be sure to wear good shoes.
Thank you for sharing! Brand new to area can't wait putting all bass gear to work. Suggestions on spawning time of yr and Hungarians

We are waking up at 5 to get out there early. The weather breaking under 100 so it should be nicer.
Hey Peter, have you gone out fishing lately? we should have more bites now that the weather has cooled off right?

where do you get fresh frozen anchove
I usually get them at Walmart. It’s in the fishing section. I made a video highlighting some additional places.
