Try pre cocked frozen shrimp, the catfish love them. Me and my son couldn't get Anchovies so i grabbed a bag of the 51 to 60 pre pound shrimp. Pulling hog size cats out with the whole shrimp on that carolina rig set up. Strippers wouldn't touch it. Got a nice small mouth off it to, tho.
The white rod is a 8 foot medium heavy rod. I just wanted something cheap but big enough to handle the bigger carps and stripers. amzn.to/46j4Z5F I believe you can also get it at Walmart. Thanks for watching 🙏
I just like to release them so they can get bigger. If someone nearby wants them I don’t have a problem giving it to them. I will keep the fish if they’re bleeding and won’t make it though.
Just a piece of worm on a small hook. I bring a 5 ft pole with 4lb. Test. Maybe a bobber. It's fun while waiting on your big pole. A little bucket with a lid will keep them alive.
For the pack bait I simply use panko bread crumbs and corn flake cereal. I add the juice from can corn to bind it and put it in the carp feeder cage. I add 3 to 4 kernels of corn on the hooks (I usually have 2 hooks) below the cage. I hope this helps. Thanks for following and watching my videos. 🙏
Yes, I use both now. If the fish are smaller in size I may cut the bait into smaller pieces but cutting the anchovies in half has been working for me recently.
Fishing in a marina, is that a ticket or JAIL TIME ? What did your watch say ? Lol... Great video . I've thought about fishing that area, but I wasn't sure if it was part of the marina. Nice fish!!!👍🎣
I called beforehand to check and was told as long as I’m outside of the buoy I can fish. I went way past the buoy so I knew I was ok. I know you can’t fish in the marina so they’ll most likely ticket you but I’m not sure and don’t want to find out😄. Thank you for watching 🙏
Hi Peter, Liked the video. Is that Casio watch hard to program? (like, do I have to be an MIT grad. to do it-LOL?) Thinking about getting one. Is the watch model WS 1200H? Also, where are these sheep? I have heard about them but never saw one. Specifically, how do I get to that park (directions)? Went to Hemminway Pier, yesterday (Friday, but got skunked). Met a guy who went into about curing bait with salt to make the bait more attractive to fish. I was standing right next to him for several hours and he caught 5 stripers. I caught nothing but it was a nice day. So this morning I went onto U-Tube and read all about using salt to cure bait. There was specific instructions about curing anchovies. Have you ever heard about this? OK, all for now. Later.. George Bonafino
Hi George! You have the correct model number for the watch. Initial set up isn’t bad. (I couldn’t get into MIT or even an application to apply 😁). If you prefer there is also a RUclips video on how to set up the Casio fishing watch. As for the big horn sheep, it is at Hemenway Park. From Boulder City heading towards Lake Mead, take a left at the gas station going towards the residential area. The park will be on the right. Usually around 11am is when they come down but I’ve gone a few times when I didn’t see them at all. Here’s the website just in case: www.bcnv.org/facilities/facility/details/hemenwayvalleypark-10 Regarding curing the bait with salt I know many did it when I lived in Hawaii for fishing in the ocean so the bait would stay firm and stay longer on the hook. I’ve never done it with anchovies but maybe I should try one day and incorporate it into a video. 😃 it might be a good idea during summer as it’s harder to keep the anchovies frozen. If I recall you shouldn’t use iodized salt. Anyhow I hope this helps.
I was pretty far away from the marina. I called to check and was told as long as I’m outside of the buoy I’m fine. I was near the floating bathroom for the boaters if that helps.

I must try one these days fishing for catfish. Thank you for sharing and for watching my videos. 🙏
good video thanks. Excuse how many feet your white fishing rod is and if you can put the link to buy one just like yours. thank you.

Thank you very much, I appreciate it very much. Gracias.
How come you never keep them ?

I usually try to catch some bluegill and use them for bait with good results. Live or cut. You'll get larger fish. Hopefully
I’ll need to try one of these days, especially if it gets bigger fish. I never really fished for bluegill at Lake Mead. Thank you for the tip.

Hello, I am a follower of yours, I watch all your videos, how you prepare the bait for the carp, if you could tell me, Thank you, good fishing.

Thank you and good fishing

Hey Peter good video man good job. I was going to ask how far outside the marina were you?
I was pretty far away from the marina. I called to check and was told as long as I’m outside of the buoy I’m fine. I was near the floating bathroom for the boaters if that helps.
@@Busydad it does I may have to test it out as well
Where exactly is this at? I need more information please.
Big horn sheep park is at Hemenway park in Boulder City. The fishing spot is between the fishing pier and Boulder Beach. I hope this helps.
Don't get busted over there, I did once
I called forehand to check and was told as long as I’m outside of the buoy I’m fine. You just can’t fish in the marina.
