Just started Tackling projects like this on My 71 beetle that has an atrocious wiring setup. Was thinking of doing something like this! Your vids have been super helpful!
Do you have a video or print out on what size fuses go in order im doing this to mine got the box a harness for you guys but don't see it in your series .
No we don't, we follow the stock fuse box lay out but doubled up the headlights and running lights. The stock diagram/layout with only one circuit for the high beams, low beams and running lights will do the job.
I too wish the modified fuse box was available to purchase. Or maybe the one I'm about to order would come that way haha. You wouldn't happen to have a close up picture of the "bridges" installed would you? Thanks again.
The only thing we have readily available as far as close ups at this moment would be in this video starting at 2:55. All I did was use a metal tab to contact both of the internal metal tabs.
@@Sam_Mebane Yessir. I bought the fuse box and will try the modified version as you did. I ordered it and was having a lazy moment, where I was hoping it would be delivered already modified 😀
Vice versa, VW added more and more circuits to the fuse box as the years went on. Early cars used a 4 circuit box in conjunction with a separate 2 circuit box. Then went to an eight circuit, a ten circuit and then a 12 circuit fuse box.
@@Sam_Mebane right, more with time. So you took the 12 circuit box (with the raised relay bridge) and made it a 10 circuit system. Which 2 did you consolidate? And the inputs are 3-3-1-1-1-1?
I have wondered about doing this and if it was possible. Would have been better if it was explained better, maybe as you were placing some of the bridges internally close up. It would have taken a little more time but been a lot more instructive. Could not see what you did at the angle you recorded the video at. Also are the jumper terminals the clips which you connect the wiring to and if so where does one purchase them from.
Saludos
Great videos y’all! Currently restoring my 71 super and your videos have been a huge resource for me
Glad to help!

Thank you for the great video!!! Keep them comin!
Thanks, will do!
Hola Jbugs quisera saber que tipo de terminales o materiales se usaron para generar le bifurcacio de las salidas de la caja de fusibles 1:50
Mira el vídeo a partir del minuto 2:55.

I was thinking of fitting a main fuse to a 1966 beetle, I was going to size for 100A given the 70A draw by the starter, has anyone does this?
Yes, we add main fuses or circuit breakers, but after the starter.

Informative... Thanks!
Love it, great work guys!
Thanks so much!
Buen video instructivo. Saludos
Gracias!
So 12 circuits before and 10 after?

@@OliverPassemard The 4 fuses for the high and low beams were combined to 1 fuse for each.
Awesome video. What fuse panel did you use? Would any good universal fuse panel work the same? Thanks

Piggyback connectors or adapters for plugging 2 wires into one terminal can be picked up at most auto parts stores or search "1207H adapter terminal".

Algunos de los conductos de aceite del motor no fluirán libremente, ya que son válvulas de retención.

What would be even better is if you just produced this fuse box mod for the lazy, non-electrician types.😂
We're working on it...
@@Sam_Mebane Are you still working on this or do you have it in production now?
@@rickburgos3499 It's out of my hands, but I wouldn't hold your breath!
