That device that fell apart on the inside of the gear is what I was taught is a "Sprag Clutch" Freewheels in one direction but bites/grabs in another direction. Pretty cool technology.
I was amazed to see the way it works. Looks like magic to me. It is like the reklusa clutch, i got it, I understand it but how is it possible that works so reliably well?. Torque converters, transmissions, turbines… some inventions are genius.

You did not show installing the woodruff key back in its slot in the shaft, after your first application of locktite...perhaps you should add a text note on the video..this is a critical step.
Hi !! I have a ktm exc 250 2 t and when you start the button does it make the same noise as the bendix? Thanks !! Or do the 2 t motors also have that bearing that you changed in the video?

I don't know on two stroke but I'm sure the system will be the same, freewheel and primary gear. You can look in parts catalog in internet to see the break down of the starting system and its parts
hello, I have a beta 525 rr 2009. please tell me your opinion about the problem. it doesn't start with the button, but with the pedal it starts with the first pedal. The electric motor is new, the battery also has the same valve adjustment. It spins and at a certain point it no longer has the power to spin, what can it be please?
No idea without seeing the bike and testing my self. It could be many things. Check if you have spark when starting with the electric start. Check if the battery is strong enough to turn the engine at the right speed to get it started. Is the starter OEM?. If aftermarket it my not spin at the right rpms.

@@BUTTEWORKS yes it is Helpfull. i am going to change the freewheel kit. same what you did it in the Video, because when i start the bike makes somethimes same noise as did yours and last week is difficult to start Engine. At the begining i thought it was the Bendix, but after your Video i am 95% Sure same problem with my bike. KTM exc 450 2012. 500 hours.

That one is high temp glue
Primary gear for ktm 450 sxf 2016 is different part number if anyone else has same bike just beware and double check part numbers!

Hi Rafael Gtz, the freewheel extractor is not magnetic it actually bolts on and pull it. I don't have it anymore since I sold the bike, now a YZ 450 owner.

This puller fits and husqvarna 450 2018 ?
I have no idea, bikes are 5 years apart however if you can’t find the 2018 puller I would give a try with this one. I don’t think they changed much in the starting system.
I have a 450 sxf 2015, is the same toll to extract the freewheel?
Yes it is. I just did this on my 2013.

If you can't get the sidecase cover off easily you might want to remove the nut holding the water pump impeller on, remove impeller and then tap cover off. This will leave the water pump gear attached to the side of the engine and will make lining the water pump and starter gear back up when you are reassembling.

Most likely it will be the same way, although I don’t know if the parts will be the same.
What size pulling tool you used
The diameter of the thread were the puller thread in is 35mm. The inside diameter of the puller is 34.6mm
