    The round clip that holds the baring in just take needle nose pliers and pole out the clip, might have to pry it out a little with a hook tool

    How did you get the lock ring out that holds the free wheel clutch in place? Not the one on the free wheel clutch, the one on the flywheel.

    They should give those mousse wedges away for free for the mousses they sent that are too small right out of the box. The one I just got today was way small. Had the right moment printed right on it, but looked more like it would fit a 16" rim. When all the way in on one side it would be almost all the way out on the other. I still got it to fit over the rim, we'll see how it rides I guess. You'd think as many as they make, their QC would be a bit better.

    Hi there, I’ve just got a 2015 KTM SXF250 cheap and it wouldn’t start off the E start, but would bump start,
    Replaced the starter clutch, it now turns the bike over, won’t start it though, and won’t start off a bump start either now, please can you shed any info? Wondering if I’ve cocked something up whilst replacing starter clutch but don’t see how,
    Thanks for the video as well

    Aloha from Hawaii. Quick question. Do you need piston in TDC to do this repair? And when you start bike without stator cover was it full with oil? Want to check mine out too, I have the same problem. I just removed the torque limiter gear and used the kick start for the time being lol. Mahalo!

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  2 года назад +2

      You don't have to have the motor at TDC. There was oil behind that cover, that is why I had it laid over on its side so I didn't loose any. Good luck!

      so you can do this without draining and adding oil ?

    Is there a snap ring or washer under the flywheel bolt that needs to be removed before you put the flywheel pulled on? I’m dealing with the same issue on my 350 SXF, and I’ve bottomed out the bolt and the flywheel hasn’t budged, I wasn’t sure if there was a snap ring or a washer I might’ve missed or if I should just get a longer bolt and send it till she goes

    • @highlandcycles

      You might need to replace the part that it touches. I think its the flywheel

  • @corysargent5234

    Morgan, did you torque the flywheel to spec at installation or just run it down with a impact? I'm obsessive about torque and starting to think unnecessarily. Lol.

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  Год назад

      On flywheels I just run them down with my electric impact. It has about 100 ft/lbs if it’s full charge. That’s not enough to strip anything but it’s enough to make sure it won’t come loose since it’s a tapered shaft

  • @bebobman

    Hi. watching this video now because I am having this same starter clutch problem. But I have the 690 enduro (2016). Do you know if the stater clutch on this bike is the same one that is on the 690? I want to try and do this repair myself if possible.

    • @highlandcycles

      @@highlandcycles This is good to know. I took my bike into my local shop for a different problem. It would start but it wouldn't keep and idle. It stalls anywhere from a few seconds to up to a minute. It always started (turned over) fine. Now I'm being told that they can't figure out what the problem is with it running rough and stalling until I get the starter motor rebuilt. $575 parts and labor......And this is even before the address what the main problem is. Any suggestions?

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  4 года назад

      Huh, that seems really odd. Those 690’s had a mapping issue (computer) that should be easy to fix with a dealer computer. That might be your running issue. As far as the starter deal, that sounds a bit off to me.
