- In this Video we use national cycle network route 45 to make our way from Bridgnorth in Shropshire to Bewdley in Worcestershire. This criss crosses the Severn Valley, crossing both the river Severn and the Severn valley railway line twice. We take in Astbury falls, Chelmarsh reservoir and the stations of the heritage railway.
This first part takes us from Bridgnorth, through Astbury, Chelmarsh, Hampton and onto Severn valley country park. Look out for part two for the rest of the journey.

It’s been a while!! 🚴 loved the video
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video. Great route to watch and the bonus of a passing steam train at the end.
Thanks for watching! The chance of a passing steam train is a bonus of this route!
Great video, I've walked the Seven Valley County Park to Hampton Loade a few times, nice walk. Thank you for sharing.✅✅
The section between Hampton Loade and Severn valley country park is one of my favourite parts of this ride. Thanks for watching!
Love a bit of Judas Priest and seen them live several times, nice video
Thanks for watching! Keep rocking 🎸
be careful entering the country park area from the bridgnorth side. there is a lethal cycle gate of that awful design, just at the bottom of a slope, so you have any speed going downhill...you are likely to smash right into it. Whoever designed the cycle infrastructure round here probably meant well, but clearly has never ridden a bike in their lives.
It’s a shame these barriers exist, agree they are well intentioned but really are not fit for purpose. Thanks for watching!
