I get into plants and gardening every spring and NEVER think to find people in houston to recommend plants that work well here. Finally did this year LOL Love your channel!
i live in east tennessee. the yucca plants here once established are amazing. they will spread by root, but are not invasive. they will just get kind of bushy. i love the huge spikes of blooms. if you ever decide to move one or just get rid of one, make sure you dig out every bit of root system or the plant will come back again. like your page man. enjoying the plants .
Yuc yeah, I'm about to scoop up some yucca plants when they hit the clearance. You should look up if there are any plant swap going on in your local area. We have one and we post up 50 deep in a skate park parking lot and swap and give away free plants. I scored a white dogwood, a giant dracaena, sedum and a huge clump of pink dahlia tubers. It was fucking dope. Happy Gardening

Good morning, Paul, Just found about a place that you might not be aware of...it's called JRN nursery, and on Alief Clodine Rd. They have good prices, and tons of plants, etc that will thrive here. They don't advertise a lot but thought you might want to check it out. Love your garden and all your hard work to make it so nice. Take care and have a great day.
Have you ever been to JRN nursery? I heard about it on another channel. The variety and prices looked really good. It's almost an hour from me, but it's still tempting.
Hey Paul! I know I'm a lil late to the party, but I saw you ask about the Mother Fern you got from Buchanan's. So how did that work out? That particular fern is called a mother fern due to the way it self propagates by dropping little baby ferns that then grow & drop little babies of their own. I had a friend plant a few and started screaming for me to "come get some of these things outta here"! lol. There were literally hundreds of them in an obscure area to the back of her garden where she first planted them. She said they had drip irrigation back there on timers so she wasn't frequently in that area. When she got an idea for another project back there, she found the "mother-load"! What about you? Are yours spreading like that too? Maybe the freeze got 'em? I'm looking for a fern type also, but I don't have room or patience for large numbers of crazy mothers! 😂
That common name is used for a lot of ferns that’s why I’m not sure wassup. The nursery also sell other plants not purely natives so you could be right.
Love how the dog is so interested. 😁.
I need to get him some gloves and a shovel!
Excited to find some more plant folks in Houston! Previously worked as a native horticulturist in Houston :)
Check out homeis thrift videos too
I love how enthusiastic you are about plants!! And I love how laid back and informative your content is!

I love how curious your dog is about everything
The Coral Honeysuckle really does have a great look to it!
Yeah it’s like half deciduous so not super impressive in the winter but in the spring and summer it’s amazing
the weeping habit of that yucca is an adaptation to either shade or heavy rain

When you run out of gardening space, you can come do my yard also in H-Town!
God, I wish more ppl planted natives and even knew what was native to their areas.
Just planted a “playin the blues” Salvia from PW. Super excited to see it grow! Planted it next to a yellow Gilardia

I saw the same video, I need to go check it out but it's on the other side of town.
You need to make a video about how you chose your house and what made you get into gardening 🙂🙂
I liked the architecture and initially liked house plants until I realized outdoor plants are way cooler than indoor plants.

That fern died. I don’t think it was one of those insane ferns that spread like crazy I’ve seen some like that take over gardens.
@Paul Plantu .... lol. Mine died too!
