In the time of releasing this video we past the 100 subscribers! We started this channel wanting to share this amazing experience and it's great seeing it do so well in such little time! Thank you sososo much for your support and if you have any questions or comments, don't be shy!😁❤️
Your tabletop is a laminated blockboard - get some steel straps along the bottom and screw them onto the underside. Across the grain - this will pull the wood straight again and give you some additional strength when it forms part of the bed. Hope this helps!
We are almost finished our first build and have looked in to several toilet options. It seems to us that a composting toilet offers the best solution in terms of initial cost, ongoing cost and cleaning. We would only really use it in case of emergency. Composting toilets eliminate the need to clean black water as the solids literally get eaten up and dried out. Liquid waste is simply dumped in a public toilet or RV dump site. Dry flush toilets are the gold standard but they are super expensive and also create a lot of waste with the changeable cartridges. We will be also installing a simple funnel system (Same as Bec and Eamon) to easily handle night time number 1 toilet requirements.
Thank you so much for your advice😍 Composting toilet is definitely number in our list for the reasons you said. Obviously Nature's Head is amazing but also very expensive! What brand are you guys going for?
I think composting toilet is the best, since you only have to empty it every couple of months. Im just starting my transit build now, Thanks for sharing.
I hope you will soon reach more than 1000 subscribers .. and hundreds of thousands of views .. you have a road (miles) ahead of you.. and probably many places to visit Good luck, health and happiness..

Hey guys Just saw the conversion vid and now this one... great videos, great work with the van. Hope you enjoy it. I hit the subscribe button, cause you two are very sympathetic and I love your positive energy. Cheers, Martin
Hi! Do you live in the van full time or is than an end goal? For me and my wife, we'd want a hitch mounted bicycle rack...th type that swings out of the way. Maybe a swivel stand for table? Thanks for reviewing the possible upgrades! Does your employment allow you to work from the road? Another thot about the front swivel seat is to tie the front seats into a table top ( large or 2 smaller tops?) And make the bed leaf a drop in so it's out of the way. I'm a process improvement engineer so please don't take any comments as bad...just tossing out thoughts. And I look forward to learning about some personal aspects of your life, because I like people and seeing things through their eyes...we have a lot to offer each other. See you later...from the USA.
Instead of rebuilding that kitchen drawer, have you considered leaving it and adding a cool drawer inside the drawer? So, it looks like one, but you open it and the top drawer pushes back to expose the bottom one. It’s hard to tell, but it looks like they’re deep enough to do it. That way, all you have to do is install brackets. Also, can I ask the specs of your van (length, interior height)? Thanks and great job so far!
Hi mates lovely build. Instead of new drawers how about insert trays that could sit on top of each other. Commonly used stuff on top and not so common underneath. Also agree on putting a grab rail to help the little legs 😂 and maybe a small folding aluminium step as well you can get them in caravan shops. Did you consider a full size bed instead of a dinette style ? Allows for lots of storage underneath. Overall though a very impressive build. Well done 👍
Great tips Mandy!!!! Thank you for the kind words. The bed system is always a debate right? We decided this was so we can entertain people easily. A fixed bed would be nice for when we're tired at the end of the day though!!!!
Hi guys, love the vid, i look forward to your channel, you mentioned toilets, in my opinion there are many varying in price from a bag in a bucket to multi £1000, all id say is consider how and where youre going to empty them, ie: a chemical toilet can only be emptied in a chemical dump station , and not even in a normal domestic toilet, hope that helps
We plan to start converting our van in the next few weeks and your videos give us great inspiration, thanks for sharing :) I was wandering about the windows, I don't see any windows that can be opened except the one in the roof. I would think that it's quite inconvenient, especially when cooking and you can't or don't want to open the door. Any thoughts?
We think exactly the same! Asturias is basically Devon but with mountains and slightly better weather😂 The important question though: Which one has the best cider?
@@gabeandpau2243 I’ve seen people use either ‘pool noodles’ (swimming aids) or the round (tubular) insulation foam that you use to protect pipes from freezing, to slot onto the ladder where it leans on the van to stop the ladder marking the paintwork,
Only do number 1 in the van. Keep being creative for number 2 : Starbucks, McDonalds, the gym, and the a shovel in the woods! It will just ruin the van experience otherwise…
Am I correct that you've been out travelling in the van for five months now, but you only have one video of your travels? Why? I'm not waiting for your next tips. I want to see your travels. So frustrating.
At the moment it's a bit difficult to get out because all the different COVID restrictions. But we're also itching to start travelling again! Thanks for watching😊

I love that your goal for the YEAR was 100 subs.. and now, 5 months later, you’re nearing 10k!! Congrats :)
Saw your van build. It gave me and my fiancé inspiration to start our own. Thank you and much love from the states!
That’s amazing to hear! It’s a hard but totally worthy project😊 if you have any questions along the way please get in touch!

I have heard that creates a smell - heard only - no experience

Thank you! We're leaning towards the composting toilet at the minute as it's also more eco-friendly. Good luck with the build!😊

Thanks!😍

Congratulations on the subscribers!! Great video, my favourite parts were Joney lifting out the chair and Pau stepping in and out of the van!!

What an amazing idea! We'll start researching that right now, thanks!😍 The measurements are: H1.93m L3.3m W1.75m - It's a MWB
I think you beat that 💯 😁

"We've been creative" - This is vanlife speak for... "I've pooped in a bag"
Be sure when you do that to push the air out before you seal it. Otherwise pushing it into a park bin can be a bit of a chore 😂

UK composting toiler.... Simploo £300. We are just about to buy one :)
as an alternative to installing a step, how about installing a grip handle or slot that can be grabbed (by the good lady :) to ease the climb up 😀
Haha that's a great idea, and probably a lot cheaper!😂
Gooooooooood
Very nice
Thank you!😊
Why dont you try to find a scissor type of hardware for the table. So you can lower and raise it as you want.

For my opinion you need a garage and spears some tool for a winter
Good video guys, on the ladder, get a telescopic ladder, so people don’t climb up,
What a good idea! Definitely don't want that happening😂
