Can't wait to see what this year holds for all of us!!!
    NOW BACK TO THE CONTENT LOL
    So time and time again I have been asked how much does it actually cost to make a car freshie. Or how much does it cost to get started? How do you figure out your pricing and how much should you sell your car freshies for? Welllllll today I finally made the video you've been looking for. I broke down the actual cost per car freshener so you can more accurately figure out what you should pricing yours at (or at least show you how to figure it out using your supply costs). I used some of the supplies I used that were in the middle price range and I also used pricing of other average middle priced supplies to figure out my basic cost for a freshie.
    Thank you so much for supporting my channel!! Whether you just watched my video, subscribed to my channel, made a purchase on my website, or even used an affiliate link - I wouldn't be able to follow this passion of mine without all of your support! Love you all!

    Right now I’m doing mostly custom orders for people I know and word of mouth referrals. Decorating is my favorite part, so I have to keep in mind that all the beads and ribbons and monogramming adds up. Plus, there’s the time it takes, and the more embellished freshies can take a while. I think you were right on with the math. It’s a lot of components to sort out and count up. In order to be competitive you need to know the concrete numbers, though. I like making money, but I’m not particularly business minded, so I appreciate the guidance. 😊💜

    Most of what is needed could be also found at thrift stores in endless amounts which would cut down costs dramatically. Not the freshie supplies for the products itself but the other things.

    How much does it cost to make the large freshies? You used the cost to make a medium freshie then used a large freshie price to find profit. Also about how long does it take to make each freshie? I have a customer wanting me to get into making freshies for them but with everything else I make I add in a price for my labor as my time is worth something. Thank you.

    I just started following your videos and love them and thank you for all the information you provide and have one questions for you and that is how to incorporate the cost of vinyl?
    I use a lot of vinyl for my freshies and don't know how to figure out the cost for it

    • @CreativelyErica
      @CreativelyErica  2 года назад +2

      Thanks so much for following Sally 🥰 so bare with me trying to explain this without showing lol.
      First I figure out my cost per inch. So if I bought a 12"x12" sheet of vinyl for $2, I would first do 12x12=144 so that's how many total inches I have.
      So then divide the cost ($2) by your total inches (144), so 2÷144 =0.0138888889 (then I round that up). =.01/per inch
      So if I cut a 4"x1" piece of vinyl, I would do 4x.01 which would give you the actual cost of that piece used =.04

    How long do the car Freshies last in the scent proof bag once baked? I’m just starting up my business and have a craft show I’m going to to try and hit off my small business! It’s fairly big and my family is saying I should make quite a lot. I’m wondering if I start making them now would the scent still be as strong as it is the day of? It’s in August and I do work a full time job so I make as many as I can during the weekends.

I have not bought any beads yet because I don't want to get the wrong thing and they do not dry. I have everything else excited to get creatiing in the freshie area. No one around here as in Ohio even sells them at craft shows/fairs. Of course now that I say that they will be everywhere. Love your stuff love listening you keep up the great job.

Lol ones that will fit most size Freshies. Like example 5 inch mason jars big crosses and smaller. What size is best? Smell proof? Also how long do the Freshies last in the bag? Lol thank u and I love your videos. Also I noticed in this video u said u use non stick spray for your cookie cutters? Just wondering if it makes the freshie greasy or smell like the spray? And last question is what are some of your best selling fragrances? Thank u again. Hope all my questions are ok haha.

  • @maryspringer1442

    I enjoyed the video but one thing that caught my attention was you didnt factor in shipping costs in all the supplies you order to make these. Especially the company you go with for the aroma beads..they are expensive! I use to buy from them for a few years but their prices are so high, not only for the beads but the shipping cost is over 25.00! I now buy them from stay fresh with Peanut and they are only 25.99 for 5lbs of beads, and shipping is only 10.00! Thats a huge savings! especially when you said 3lbs was over 20.00 with the company your buying from. When you factored in the costs you didnt add shipping costs to yourself buying each and every product to make the freshies. this makes a huge difference in the overall costs! If paying an additional 25.00 to get the aroma beads the total is much higher than what you stated. they dont ship them to you for free! That also goes for the fragrance oils , micas etc you must factor in the shipping your paying to get your products shipped to you to make the freshies. I didnt see you add this in any of the products. So in the end the actual cost to make a single freshies would be closer to 5.50 each or more..and the profit wouldnt be anywhere near what is stated. Of course there are scenarios where you get free shipping, if buying on Amazon and a prime member, or buying alot of supplies from certain companys that offer free shipping at a certain minimum order. Your tutorials are great and I highly recommend them to anyone starting out or wanting to keep up with the lastest freshie trends.

    I have a question, I have a couple of boutiques that are wanting to buy wholesale from me. How do you figure for those that are wanting to purchase wholesale?

    • @CreativelyErica
      @CreativelyErica  2 года назад +2

      Great question! I would send them a table that would have quantities on one side and prices in the other column. Obviously the more they buy the bigger the discount per freshie. For example let's say I normally charge $10 per freshie, I would tell them if they bought 15 freshies, each freshie would be $8. But if they bought 25 I'd go down to $7 (& so on). But if someone is wanting to buy a ton (50+), then I would personally do a flat rate price since they're buying so many to not only save them money but build that relationship so they come back for more. I would also throw in freebies to repeat boutiques that bought from me.

      Yes definitely worth mentioning- if you pay for shipping, you'd want to add to your cost. However, I didn't mention because with most of my products, I get free shipping on them (some are ordered on Amazon or from a small business that always offer free shipping, but some also offer free shipping if you spend a certain amount- which I always do to avoid that extra cost and usually the more you buy the cheaper it comes out to). If on the rare chance I do have to pay for shipping, I would've included that IN the supply cost that I listed. 😊

I only had a few scents to choose from in the beginning and maybe a 5 lb bag of aroma beads so apx $100 (in my case). But they sell small amount of everything so you could start for less than $50. I just reinvested everything I made to order more supplies in bulk which then increases your profit margin by saving with bulk supply costs.

    • @CreativelyErica
      @CreativelyErica  6 месяцев назад +1

      The more time and supplies that go into the freshie, I'd obviously recommend raising the price accordingly. The cost of supplies (along with everything else) has increased since posting this video over 2 years ago. However, you have to price competitively (especially if you're starting out) to even make a sale because there's always someone undercutting your price somewhere else so just keep that in mind. I'm not greedy with my profits because I want to keep the customers I already have so I price everything as low as I can while still getting a profit for my time/supplies used. Hope this helps.
