I LOVE your videos!! Thank you so much for giving such amazing tips and helping others!!
Thank you so much! Love helping y'all ❤
Thanks I’m just starting to make freshies!! This is helpful for sure
Helpful video.
Thank You.
I have always done my pigment after scenting since I buy pre scented beads and have never had an issue with baking or transferring.
I always let my aroma beads cure before coloring them. I always go for mica powder for coloring too. And it gives them a shiny pearly color. and I’ve never had a problem with putting the powder afterwards.
After using all the aroma beads, can you reuse the jar for other colors and/or scents? Or should you always use the same scent and color in the same jar?
What scents do you find stronger and more lasting?
Thank you for your tips and tricks! I have been making a selling aroma bead air fresheners to save some money for the future. I wanted to watch an informative video on what works and what doesn't, to be able to create even more amazing air fresheners!!! I appreciate your video, it helped a lot! I was making some today and they would not come out, I used a different brand of aroma beads (bad decision on my half) and I just sprayed PAM, and glad I know now I did the right thing lol... I also had trouble with aroma beads melting, and I believe what I did was add way to much glittery mica powder...The llama I made sadly got beheaded when taking it out of the cookie cutter :/
So glad I could help you out!!
Can you help me?? My Freshies smell amazing when you smell them up to your nose, but there seems to be no throw in the car. I'm being told this by many people I've sold them too! What's going on? Does size matter? I'm I baking them on to high of a temp 350°?
I'm using 1/2 cup with 1 Tablespoon fragrance oil. Oils from Nature's Garden, candle science, lone star. Beads are from Lone Star. Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thank you.
i started making freshies a week or 2 ago. I do the powder after and it works perfect. I let people pick their colors and shapes. They never fell off or the color never comes off on hand. Bake mine for 9 mins on 300 degrees. Also no white flakes or anything
I also do the powder after the beads dry with no issues 🥰
@paintedgypsydesign
What about vent clips? Will they melt? They seem to throw the sent better than hanging from a mirror. But concerned about melting. Just want to make sure I’m telling people correct info. Thanks for your help!
Vent clips can 100% melt if the heaters are on (especially because they're so small). I always listed to not use them if they had their heaters on the care instructions. But I wouldn't sell them in the winter time at all to avoid issues (like customers not reading the care instructions and melt theirs). Hope this helps!
11:00 because you’re putting too much mica powder, that’s why it’s not cooking correctly/loose color :)
Can you do a video to show how to do multi colors with a freshy?
Absolutely!
Do we have to use just essential oils or can we use plug in oils? Like bath and body works wildflower refills?
I just baked mine and it is kinda smooth at the top, you can tell they are made of beads but you can’t see the individual beads, what am I doing wrong?
I’m having a problem with them not having much smell at all after I bake them?? i’m using the 1 tablespoon for every 4 oz. and i’m using nature’s oil fragrance oil from amazon. what do I do?
Hello...great tutorials and videos. I have 2 questions: Do you use glitter, if so when do you apply it? Also, what is your process of cleaning jars out? Thank you so much for your help.
Thank you so much! I do use glitter sometimes, I sprinkle a little on right before they go into the oven and a little more right when they come out. I have so many jars/containers now that basically each scent I have has it's own set of jars so I just run them through the dishwasher or wash by hand. If you're wanting to get the smell out, soak the jars in a vinegar solution, then wash as normal.
@@CreativelyErica Thank you so very much for the quick reply and valuable information. You're the best!
Seems like a crazy question but after I make a freshie can I wash the cookie cutters and use it for cookies? I wouldn't figure the metal would absorb the scents but wasn't sure.
Love your video! Will be making these soon , but I was wondering if their was an exact measurement when adding the aroma beads/oils and the powder .
Thanks! That's awesome! For every 3 oz of beads I use 1 TBS of fragrance. The powder I just had a tiny bit at a time until I reach the desired color.
@@CreativelyErica Can I use essential oils or is there a differance?
@@christycanning1683 there's a huge difference. Do NOT use essential oils. They don't work very well and you'll end up wasting your money.
Hey again! I weighed out my first jar of beads (4 oz)., and the amount of beads did not look right to me. May I send you a pic just so I could keep your judgment?
What are your thoughts about using Sharpie Paint pens on the Freshies?
I have had a few freshies seem like they are flaky, esp in narrow areas and edges. Advice
Hi I have a question where do you get your fragrance oil from? It seems like my smells aren’t staying for as long as they should
I’m just learning this craft and was wondering if there is a scent you can recommend I can use for all genders? I’m making some for gifts.
Can you let me know how you clean your aroma beads when you first get them? I remember you going over it in one of your videos but I can’t remember which one.
I loveeee watching you❤️❤️❤️
Aww!! 🥰 thanks for the support 😘
I’ve been making freshies for a little over 2 mths now and I’m still learning❤️. Thanks to you For all the great tips on how to make a Freshie❤️ you Answered a Few questions for me on this video, Thank you.
For 1 I will Never not color my beads after oil has set, that’s a big No No. Your right, color does come off and beads fall off & they bake longer. 2nd Freshies do not last long in the South. It’s hot and heat does drain the Scent faster.
I’d love to watch more Decorations videos if you can make some👍🏻❤️
Maybe even if you can make a few more freshie designs and colors with different shapes❤️🤞🏼
Am i over cooking it , ive noticed my freshie is not smelling much in the car?
Another question, how much do you sell them for ?
@@melv6785 depending on the size, how many colors/ decoration, how much time goes into them, anywhere from $6-$9
can you add more aroma beads if you added to much fragrance oil? I've had mine in jars since Saturday & they show no signs of drying out...
Can you wrap them in foil and they keep the scent
What size are the cookie cutters you use? The ones I got just don't seem like they are going to big car freshies to me.
Fell off twine . How do you keep from falling off? Live in Texas gets very hot inside vehicles .
Can you re-scent your freshies?
Can you use perfume on your beads as an aroma?
My mod podge spray and sharpie oil paint pens sticks to my bags and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I set them in the bag after they are dried and they still stick. Am I doing something wrong? It also takes days for the pens to fully dry. My ratio is 2 ounces of oil for every 8 ounces of beads. Thank you in advanced!
Are the fragrance oils the same as essential oil? Thx
What's the measurements on 2pounds of beads what would be the oil measurement on it?
I just watched your videos and I made some Freshies this is my first time doing this and I have noticed that the color changes when is exposed to the sun what am I doing wrong?
Can freshies be frozen to preserve scent when make a lot ahead of time?
When you bake do you use bake or convent bake
I have a question, I have a very intricate deer mold and when I took it out of the mold there were holes where the antlers were and beads were coming out- what did I do wrong, it was my 1st attempt at feeshies and the 2 circle silicone molds did great but not the deer silicone mold???
Is it normal for car freshies to swell while in the car? I bought mine a couple weeks ago and there was a couple of warm days mixed with a few cold days. After a warmer day I noticed that it started to swell, I was touching the freshie to see if the swelled area would go back down and it broke open, now the aroma beads are periodically falling out
Hi I don’t know if you have addressed this but I have bought two air freshies for my car and both of them have melted off the string I put it around my mirror and I have tried having my windows down what should I do please and thank you
What size are the big cookie cutters??
people are saying that my freshies im making are not strong enough i add enough oil as much as the beads will absorb. what are some tips to make my freshies stronger smelling?
Can you make a video making car vent freshies?
Definitely on my to-film list.
My Freshies have started to have bubbles in them. I don't know if I am baking them too long or if the temp is too high. Any suggestions?
If you have leftover beads scented and colored. How do you store them? Leave them in the original jar?
I leave mine sealed tight in my mason jars that o made them in and they’ve done great.
I'm trying to make my own mold and I'm having issues with some of the design having gaps. Any advice?
So how long does it take the aroma beads to absorb the fragrance oils I’ve had mine for a while month and I’ve followed ur directions
Like I mentioned in this video (13:55), you may need to put them in a bigger jar/container with more air and/or add more beads to help absorb the oil. If they're not curing, then there's too much oil.
So do you worry about shipping freshies during the summer? This will be my first summer selling freshies and I live in Texas and know there are some things I just won’t order during summer months (like lipstick) but I do worry about shipping. Thanks so much for all your content.
Great question! I have shipped freshies to Australia, Texas, Arizona, Florida, etc during all season and haven't had anyone tell me that their frehsie came deformed or melted or anything.
I also want to add that most companies that sell the aroma beads will have some type of info listed on their website like the melting point. Definitely worth checking out as it gets warmer out.
@@lisalisa3844 It’s not illegal in Texas. I don’t know where you read that, only if it “blocks vision”, but still not illegal. Which most freshies do not. In fact a customer got pulled over for speeding and the cop like her freshie so much she got off with a warning.
Can you bake in a toaster oven?
How do I get the baked plastic smell put of my house from making freshies
Can you bake more than one scent at a time?
I am having trouble with my apple barrel paint rubbing off the outline of my shaped freshies in the bag. How do I keep this from happening
Made some freshies do you need heat in car to smell, its strong in bag but when have it in car can't smell it much
3 questions 😬
1. Is there a way to make both sides completely smooth? Can you sand the top side?
2. Can you add vinyl to these? Or do you know of a way to add a logo into one?
3. Can you bake it on parchment paper to make it easier to pop off the cookie sheet?
Nope. You can add vinyl to the smooth side. You could also paint it on with puffy paints. Haven't tried parchment paper, so not sure. I would just spray a little bit of cooking spray on the pan beforehand.
I use parchment paper and it’s super easy to pop off the pan ☺️
@@CreativelyErica can I put a fan on them overnight to help the paint and oil-based markers dry faster? Will it cause them to loose fragrance faster? Mine are sticky and tacky rubbing paint onto the bags after I let them sit out overnight to air dry. I keep my ac on 68.
Hello! I love your videos! Question?!!? When you make the cow ones with different colors, is the aroma the same ?? Or it’s different aromas? Thank you
Thanks! Yes, my multi-colored freshies are the same scent. It's a pain to have to do 3 different jars for one freshie but I typically make them by the batch.
Thank you for the response! How would you recommend me doing a sample of the aroma? I bought the 4oz mason jars for samples I just don’t know how to make the sample that size?!
Made my first freshies after letting my beads soak for 1 week they smell very strong in the jar but in my car I can’t smell it ??? What do I do differently
You added way too much pigment powder to your scented beads which is why it didn’t bake correctly! I only color after they are scented and it turns out perfect every time and I never have a problem I’ve been doing it this way for 3yrs!
how much powder do you add?
@@graceystephens3700 only enough to coat beads you can add more but if you put to much they won’t cook correctly. If I’m making one I put only a tiny amount and add more it need
Mrs. Von B if I do this method , just the scent sets ? I can bake as soon as I add the powder ?
@@leximcgee6979 yes as long as the beads have already set for at least a week in the oil
I have asked this questions many times with no reply. Do you let your beads air out before adding oils to them?? Thanks !
I over cooked my freshies and can’t get them out of the Cookie cutter. What can I do?
Can you bring smell back and how
Hi!!! I love love your videos! And your freshies! I’ve tried and tried to find the arrowhead you use and I can’t! 🥺 could you please post the link to the exact one you use? Thanks!!!

There ya go! 😁
Thank you!!!
Can essential oils be used in freshies or is that different from fragrance oils?
My freshies are lasting in smell 2-3 days. I do 6oz of beads to 1 oz of fragrance oil. Bake 350 for 7 minutes
You aren’t using enough fragrance oil to beads. Try 1 oz for every 4 oz of beads
Will Polly Pellets Work For these
When my freshies are baking in the oven the smoke really bad, is this normal?
Hi do you happen to know if we have to have some kind of license or permit to sell freshies/ crafts and how do you get people to buy your freshies?
I have looked online for cute cutters
I can't find them.
can you re scent an old freshie?
How can you make an old freshie smell good again?
How long can you keep your aroma beads in the mason jars after they’ve already soaked up the smell/oils you put in ? Do you have to use them right away ?
I've had mine in jars up to 2 months and they still worked great when I baked them.

11:00 Because you put too much mica powder.
hey don't take this wrong way but i live in qld Australia and i make these. these will melt in your car I recommend making them and putting them in organza bags i recommend white bags as they are see through so wont block driving view and feeding a elastic loop through bag to hang around mirror so when and if it does melt it wont go through the bag i have had them melt but it never seems to be able to go through the bag. if all it takes is u to park somewhere out doors with the full sun on ur car for 10 mins and they will melt in Celsius temps the beads have a melting point of 60c ur car get ups to 80c inside if its during summer for just 10 mins in the car i recommend also the bags cause when i tested it melted in mates car lucky he was smart to blast ac b4 trying to pull it off i have sold these to people who own teslas and lambos in town and if i did not have the bags for safety i could get sued if it did melt also i cant afford to get a lambos alcantara leather dash fixed id have to sell a limb and the owner have said they have melted a bit but wont go through bag if anyone would like a picture for reference for how i sell them so its safe for climates they might melt in comment below and will post a picture link
Post pictures please
How do u make the smell be strong bc mine only smell for like 2 days and I really want mine to last long and smell strong
I NEED HELP! Mine are very hard and don’t smell all that strong
what is the price range that you sell them for
Sooo I didn’t know you were supposed to air them out if they stink… and I added fragrance oil already… can I air them out then “rescent” them???
How do you know what scents to buy when you first started , how much oil of each scent do you buy when starting out ?
It's honestly a gamble. But when I first started, whenever I was purchasing scents from a website, most of them have a "popular" category that lists all the fragrance oils that are popular. I bought most from those lists. General scents that you know should do well like vanilla. I also asked friends/family what they would like. I would buy the 4oz bottles to try them out.
What do you use to store the cured beads until you bake them?
The same mason jars or tupperware that I mix them in.
I did all the steps and they turned out cute, but the smell wasnt very strong. It was when they were in the jars, but after the oven they werent very strong smelling.
After the oil is absorbed, they need to cure before baking or else the scent throw will be weak. After the beads are dry inside the jar, let them set for 8-10 days so the scent can really soak into them. Promise it's a get changer!
I believe I found you on facebook. I sent of pic of the beads in the jar.
How do you get the deds
Hi! I had another question: I know you suggest adding the coloring to the beads once they have dried with scented oil. Do you have any suggestions about adding mica?
No, I recommend coloring them at the same time you add the fragrance oil. I only use mica powder & I mix with the beads and oil at the same time all at once.
@@CreativelyErica Ok, I am glad I asked. Would it be all right to use food coloring also?
@@antwynwatson723 no, food coloring doesn't work with these.
@@CreativelyErica I guess that was a stupid question. I was thinking crazy lol
@@antwynwatson723 😂😂
Hey chick! I was watching because my freshies are coming out a faded shaded white, like you can see the beads so i thought maybe I wasnt using enough mica BUT then i heard you talking about putting the Mica coloring in when pouring the fragrance? Do you think thats why there coming out faded looking? I use silicone molds. HELP!! Thanks!!
You just put the mica powder in right after pouring the fragrance? Im going to try it! :)
If you are doing a multi color freshie can you do two different scent in the same freshie?
You can if they are scents that go together. For example, mint and eucalyptus. You just have to be careful when mixing scents, they can be too overwhelming sometimes.
why do my freshies not have a strong smell after being them? like you can tell what the smell is but its not a powerful smell like a store bought ir freshener
How do you do a sunflower one?
You could either scent 2 different colors (yellow & brown) the same scent and pour the brown beads in the middle. Or do all yellow and then use puffy paint in brown or black for the center.
Okay so i froze mine and they are still not coming out of the cutters help lol 🤕
Instead of using pam/ nonstick spray, do you think baking them on a silicone mat would help with them not sticking to the sheet?
Probably I use the nonstick spray on the cookie cutters so they pop out easier.
You can also use parchment paper, not wax. Helps them come right off the cookie sheet and I don't have to use any oil.
I have a question, and it’s probably silly. But can you bake different scents at the same time? Or will that make the freshies have mixed scents?
You can, but I typically don't. But I don't think it affects the fragrance if you bake different types.
My freshiesnare really pointy on the tops anyone know why this would happen??
Your videos are so helpful🤍🤍 I do have questions. I bought bags but didn’t keep in mind that they are not smell proof. Can I use shrink wrap to lock the smell of the freshies?
Not sure, I've never used shrink wrap. I would say try one and see if you can smell it through the package.
@@CreativelyErica I am going to give it a try! 😭 I’ve also read that apparently cello bags are good too persevere scents too but I’m not positive. Sorry I have others questions. Can I measure 4 oz of bead and 1 oz fragrance and them separate them in multiple jars for different colors? Instead of making big batches? Also if I wash out a mason jar will it still contain the scent of the fragrance oil from before?
Sorry for asking so many questions!
@@alexiagonzalez7324 yes you can separate the beads if you color them while they're still wet from the oil. And sometimes depending on hlw strong the scent is, the jar might still have a scent after being washed. Sometimes I have to wash the jar a few times but after you put a new scent in there it should be okay.
@@CreativelyErica okay! Thank you soooo much ☺️
@@alexiagonzalez7324 You're so welcome! Let us know how everything goes!
What would cause the beads not to stay together after cooking?
You didn't let them cook long enough. Oftentimes the middle of the freshie will crumble. Make sure the oven is set high enough and for long enough to melt the beads together. Try adding a few more mins to the baking time!
Hello! Is it okay to use cooking spray on the cookie cutters to help the non-sticking of the aroma beads?
Yep, mentioned that in this video. Definitely recommend it.
@@CreativelyErica thank you for answering back with me. Love your video!
@@antwynwatson723 anytime! Thanks for watching!
I need to know if I can use poly pellets or does it have to be aroma beads???
has to be aroma beads
Can you use any kind of fragrance oils?
Yep! As long it's labeled a fragrance ojl
Can you use essential oils for fragrance?
Yep!
Would a sharpie stick to the freshies if I don’t have puff paint?
You could try, I would be hesitant solely because these plastic beads have wax in them which might make the sharpie not write as well. Try it and let us know how they turn out 😃
Sorry if someone has already answered this question... has anyone tried putting baked freshies into a freezer for storage? wondering if that would be a way to store bulk freshies that i make for craft fairs
Was just wondering this too !
When you do your cows, do you color the white part white or just use the plain beads?
I color them white, otherwise they come out kinda clear-ish
@@CreativelyErica thank you so much
how long do you leave your aroma air out because of the vinegar or glue smell
Depends on how strong the smell is, sometimes they aired out completely in a week and other times I've had to have them air out for a month
