At the beginning, I could feel and relate to Mike's frustration. But you were both able to turn that around for Mike to hit exactly the shot he was looking for. Nice!
Great video Tyler something i need to practice way more. If you need to hit a longer high shot would you close the face more or go to the next lofted club?
Steve wherry great question. If it was similar conditions as this shot (up hill lie) I’d go to down to next lofted (depending on bounce) and open it up.
These videos with lower handicapped players are priceless. I have been busy with College the past 8 months and my practice time has been limited to none. I am out here shooting -2 ---> +6 Rounds and its entirely due to my ballstriking. Ive developed a very bad shortgame and its been almost "yips" but I know its a mechanical issue. My action feels smooth, im confident etc... but I had a video taken of my pitch shots the other day from a buddy and saw that ive developed a very square face with almost all of my pitch shots except for the flop shot (among another issue regarding my low-point control which has been AWFUL). I think this has a lot to do with the fact that as I lost a little bit of feel and practice time, I started to take away the creativity from my shortgame and started to try to play the "high percentage shot" all the time. I started to pick landing spots with lower flighted pitches that were basically standard pitches to account for more roll, and this really has screwed up my more delicate shortgame shots around the green and ESPECIALLY from "easy" up and down situations. I have been nearly 0% up n downs from 30 yards and in if I am dealing with a tight fairway lie pitch I am thinning and chunking everything. FINALLY got out with a shag-bag today and just started working on opening the face a bit more and just working on my "kinematic sequence". This video was coincidentally one of the main issues I could have addressed earlier, now working on my issue of "adding more release to create more loft" and that has been killing me. I felt like I was needing perfect timing and Ive forgotten the feeling of how easy pitching used to be for me the past 5 years. Crazy how fast it can go downhill. But yeah. Just watched this today. Keep up videos like these because had I seen this months ago it would have rang a bell in my head. Just wanted to leave you a thoughtful comment on how you have helped someone of a scratch handicap. Got to prep for the summer tournaments!
What a great name for a golfer!
