This is such a great visual and even better description of how he started and what your goal for him was. I have the exact same problem--pulling the club inside so my path to the ball is very inconsistent. I'll try to keep the club more in front of me and rotate somewhat more aggressively to improve contact and AOA. You're very patient with your students!
I have very similar issues just a different way of fucking it up for me. Love to see the improvement. Wedge play is so important and its been driving me crazy because it has been hurting my tournament scores. Got to get it addressed
Tyler...I see you have him set up square. I like that. However, my coach and others like Sieckmann teach an open setup. Can you share your thoughts on open vs square setup? (Open meaning sternum pointing in front of the ball, left foot angled 45 degrees, weight 60/40.). Thanks...
Great question. I base it on what the player is looking for and needs more of. If they need more attack and out- to-in path I might have them more open. Usually I find on inside 20 yards I push players a bit more open, but with 30-120 yard wedges they usually have enough time in the swing to get open. But definitely can change player to player.
@@tylermcghiegolf yes sir especially the back swing I'm clueless to where my club is. I play to a scratch but I still need a lot of improvement but I really want to know what it feels like to be on plane going back AND going forward.
Really enjoying these wedge vids Tyler.. Thx!
Much appreciated! Looking forward to sharing more!

Great to hear Kevin! I hope it helps.

Good solution....better forward pivot.
Was this using a 60 or 54/56?

Hey Tyler, the line you drew in 6:00 minute mark, do you draw that line from the ball to the top of the belt or something else?
Hi Cole. I go from around the center of the club head to the top of the thumb. For Inside 100 yards on wedge play.
Hey Tyler great video how about giving me a lesson to get my club on plane that would be awesome thanks.
Any part of the swing specifically?

@@pd9971 Sounds good! It's on my list!
@@tylermcghiegolf .....thanks man looking forward to it!
I watched the TXG lesson with Matt. You said no greater than 30* launch and wanted a 6500 spin. What Angle of Attack should we be looking for? Thanks
Great question. Minus 4-8 AA is a good range.
