Why does everyone think you have to manually square the clubface? This is the reason golf is so hard for so many people. The golf club is an engineering marvel. There is 200 years or more of evolution and engineering in it. IT'S NOT JUST A STICK WITH A PIECE OF METAL ON THE END. Most players have a fade, slice or push fade and that's simply because they're trying to manually square the clubface. The more the ball goes right the more the player tries to close the clubface to prevent it - and the more it goes right. No one ever thinks, "the more I try to close the face the more the ball goes right ... so, what if I try the opposite - leave it wide open?" It's a crazy thought to most people but it's exactly what they need to do - try to hit the ball dead right with a wide open clubface. You'll be amazed that it can't be done. The engineering of the golf club, physics and the anatomical limits of the human body cause the clubface to close smoothly through impact. Watch any good player swing, do you really think they're thinking about how and when they need to close or square the clubface, or are they simply swinging the club and letting it do what it's made to do? The golf club is way smarter than it looks.
I will give this a try. , I find my right hand is to active because I have a tough time keeping the club head behind my hands on the downswing to impact.
Seems like still quite a lot of work to square club face even though club on much better plane. Would you promote bowing of left lift wrist (to help square club-face earlier) and extend right arm in downswing (to help shallow and create some width)?
For some players bowing it early can help some others if it gets too bowed they will start going into extension too early which can cause some issues. Also if the center of mass of the club is back the club will want to help square it up also. Extending the right arm can also help some players and hurt others. Just key to find the right match.
