This is helpful to see... I frequently am shocked when I see some of these guy hit a drive 350 or 375... there was one venue where guys were hitting 400... can't remember where that was, but even guys that weren't long hitters were going over 400 on a particular hole... but seeing this, it's evident that they're hitting into what amounts to a paved parking lot... there's about 75 yards of run to every one of these drives...
Downhill, a good bounce, or the elevation at the Colorado event gives a boost. But Rory, if he wants to, could fly it 330+ with no help. Look at his visit to the Foreplay golf channel. So could a handful of others. It's just launching it that high isn't conducive to keeping it on the golf course. If you want to get an idea of how hard these guys hit the ball, go to a simulator and measure your ball speed. Then see these guy's ball speed.
@@Dah_J go look up the longest drives this year on PGA.. Top 5 were all in Hawaii.. Low pressure in Hawaii is a result of the rising warm air in the region.. High elevation is not the only place with low air pressure....
Almost 100 years ago, Craig Wood hit a drive 430yds on the 5th at St Andrews (1933), which only stopped because it went in a bunker. You can imagine the equipment and conditions he had that day... as his normal drive was more like 230-250 yards [which was considered good in those days]
It's because most of these are 270-290 carry drives. They just roll out 50-80 yards because it's downhill/downwind and PGA tour fairways are short and pretty hard often.
Clubhead speed is clubhead speed imo. Alot of guys think that swing harder means go further. They just aren't flushing it. But clubhead speed, length, and muscle mass are directly proportionate to ball flight.
Fairways are so low and firm...I'm seeing 20 yard first bounces and 40+ yards of roll..as a lot of these players aren't big hitters in PGA standards...some of them rolled down a hill lol. But the big thing is almost all of them are flying it 315+ which is a lot more than I remember in the late 90s..go look at the Great Big Bertha today...I thought that thing was HUGE when it first came out..I see it today and I'm like damn..it's like a big 3 wood. I remember playing with balata and tour professional wound balls...hit a few hard tee shots and the damn thing turned into an egg...skull one and you just threw $5 away. I miss those days..I can still smell the ball when you opened the box.
this is why we will have the roll back ball .. its insane numbers these days, my longest drive was 350 yards with crazy wind in my back at a par 5 2 years ago, i had 120 club head speed back then 170+ ball speed, now i lost strenght due to injuries and have to be happy if i drive 315 with the wind helping.
Yeah but 350 as a record for us with 120+ swing speed isn’t that much tbh. My personal best with optimal conditions was 370 but I’m usually happy with a solid 300 yd drive
@@BigDawgCAM 350 yards isnt that much? its allot considering only 2% of amature golfers can drive past 300 yards. so its a wierd statement by you. 3,775 drives 2024 was recorded 350 yards out of 56,930 drives that went further than 300 yards on the PGA Tour. 74 was 400 or more out of those 57 000 drives.. so not even 8 % of all the PGA players drives reached that distance 2024. 1997: John Daly was the first man to avg 300 yards. 30 years later? 2023 61 players averaged at least 300 yards. i just checked my trackman from 2 years ago, i avg 290 and longest drive 362 yards. so yea 350 on course is a bomb. pga driver swing speed average :clubhead speed 113mph and carry 275. in ya face with the facts booooy
Amazing how fast they can make fairways and firm nowadays. Any harder and it's basically a rocky slope painted in green. You won't be getting that kind of roll on your normal public courses or golf clubs.
they need to change the ball the pros play in tournaments so they don't go so far.... it would make the tournaments alot more interesting to watch for viewers.
Hmmm... 🤔 Very good conditions too, eh ? Very dry and downward fairways, sometimes helpful wind, the ball flies about 300 yards but then rolls about 180 🤭
Golf has a distance problem. More interesting when you watch play from the 90s/2000s. Imagine Baseball not strictly regulating bats. Problem started when they allowed metal “woods”. Easy fix - make pros use wood drivers, same as pro baseball players don’t use aluminum bats.
Equipment, ball, player and course conditions have all affected the game. And not for the better . A bunch of robots is all there is out on the PGA Tour. Distance is king. Player’s ability is way down on the list.
Check the drivers. Something seems off here. I mean I know down hill but I’m starting to wonder if they are putting something into the pros drivers now.
@ lol I dunno why you’re hurt. It’s just funny to see they can’t please everybody. There were definitely some times the choice and volume of music was obnoxious, and I’m sure there were times where it was fine
Some big bombs there.
But also kinda helps when the fairways run faster than your average public course greens!
Watched dechambeau play public course and he eluded to the lack of perfect lies vs pros
Probably helps that they use less loft on their drivers too, kinda the point lol.
diamond fairways
I know some of these are downhill, downwind shots but god damn the accuracy of these drives is superb
So many great shots! Rory really got all of it. Beautiful game.
I also average about 375 off the tee when I really go after it. But it’s 275 yards + 100 yards fore left.
That's still only 275 lol
@@aroundtheleaguehighlightse6163 That's the joke

There are also some “400 yard” par 4 dog legs. Hitting that green with a 330 yard corner cutting shot the commentators love to say it’s 400 yards.
Probably in Hawaii.. longest drives are usually in places with thin air

Pga making fairways hard as a rock lol 🎉
And cut like a green. Ball is rolling 80 yards.
These are very similar to my driver averages, if you include the follow-up 4 iron and wedge.
It doesn't even look like they swing hard
Harder swings don’t always equal longer drives. It’s more about the technique and form you use, and the torque you generate.
Good technique just looks smooth but the speed is definitely up there . Plus their smash factor on these drives is probably as it good as it gets.
@@stewiegriffin3627 yh so true, middle of the clubface every time, all the weight at the front of the driver aswell.

Max Homa hit the longest drive in PGA Tour history. 477 yards! Yet the PGA Tour has absolutely zero record of it?!?
1:04 nice easy swing... 375 yards 😂👀
It looks so effortless.I swing out of my shoes. And it goes two sixty amazing
Awesome video
You need to add course and hole number as well
Can’t wait for the sentry🎉
Yu's Drive was impressive. It looked effortless.
its not 380 if it rolls 100+yds down a hill (Michael Kim) His carry was maybe 280
Shut up. You can’t hit it past the red tees
Play it where it lies
harris is insane, such a slow swing and absolutely smashes it.
1:10 HOW? Such a week unathetic swing and yet a BOMB...
I regularly hit it over 400 yards. Often times before my third stroke even.
why 'but'?
"... but they have incredible accuracy".
Thank CoshReport for that

Its really not about the carry, and more about the roll outs. The first one might of been the longest carry.

I love it they have some nice drivers I noticed...❤AprilRose
The Harris English swing looked like he didn't even swing at it. 375. Insane.
Yeah because it was probably only a 170 ball speed. On a normal fairway and no wind, that’s not going further than 300
Downhill downwind on fairways harder and faster than your local muni green. Lol
Pro distances are a tiny bit deceiving, I’ve never seen a muni course handout 75 yards of fairway rollout.
Starting at 361 😵💫 let the launch party begin
I kind of thought they would measure the flight of the golf ball not how far it rolls downhill on a paved fairway😂
Surprised that Rory's 365 yrd drive at Bayhill didn't make an appearance
I remember when 350 used to be Absurd
Michael Kim’s drive rolled into a field of divots from other drives lol.
Rumor has it.. ITS STILL ROLLING!!
shortest one of the video is 361 yards…WOW 😳
They say roll back the golf ball but their fairways are like concrete
There shoukd be a tournament where only persimmon woods, and small sized irons are allowed. That’d be interesting.
It doesn't look like winter rules on any of these courses.
they need to change the ball the pros play in tournaments so they don't go so far.... it would make the tournaments alot more interesting to watch for viewers.

Woopie 70 yards of roll

Number shows total drive. Minus 100 for real carry.
Those fairways are basically cheating. 185 ball speed should get you about a 340 yard drive. Not 400+
Some of these drives are rolling out 150 yds…
if justin thomas can hit it 361 the clubs and balls are beyond inflated
Carry is all that matters. I can hit the ball 450 on the freeway if it's wide enough
They don't everything is just downwind downhill 😂
Most all of the fairway shots rolled 40-75+ years a little deceiving.
This is the guy that says his drives go 300 yds
Meaning 260-225 yds carry 💀🤡
So you can carry the ball 350+ yards?
350 is average for them now
Wowwwww❤

Gonna have to give the elevation
"almost made a hole-in-one in the drainage dritch" 😣😣😣😣😣😣
nice click bait....short game is still king (ask the U.S. open champ)
how about a major or all majors with no driver, they have to use 3 wood off the tee for the most club.. they average 325 with woods any way, LOL
Go, little ball ! (oo)
What’s ruining the game of golf the obsession with driving
Check the drivers. Something seems off here. I mean I know down hill but I’m starting to wonder if they are putting something into the pros drivers now.
Go increasingly ❌
Get increasingly further ✅
Should be measuring off carry, who cares about a downhill rollout
downhill lol
Illegal drivers most likely
It’s time to the dial the ball back.
