gabefollower prominent CS2 data miner discovered new VAC anti-cheat leaks in CS2's code... the leaks are crazy... Gabe Follower: • Anti-Cheat VAC 2.0 / O...
One thing about AI is that it can go trough all of those millions of games played and gather information how humans play. That gives you such a good data, that even using soft wallhacks (like using wh only very carefully) can be spotted based on certain odds.
Basically, they made us wait for the same system we already had that never worked, Kernal anti cheat would go a long way, but I have a suspicion that the cheaters might actually just be so far ahead of Valve at this point that the game will never be the same again. The detection itself needs a serious overhaul and the ability to auto ban with no chance of recovery. Since cheaters still farm cases, they are giving the community the ability to possibly forgive cheaters if they have a high enough trust factor. If every once in a while, they send red herring demos to players of blatant cheaters and those players don't submit it as evidence and those people get temp bans or something like that then I can say maybe it will work better.
The fact that they removed Overpass is really weird, even if it's one of the *less* played maps, Ancient and Anubis are pretty much banned every game, why not remove one of those?
Cheating can’t be fixed in FPS games, it’s too far gone. There’s good hardware cheats on the market now that you don’t even need to pay for files to inject, you just plug a box into your usb slot and have auto aim/no recoil and lots of other cheats on any game you want and download the configs from a forum. They can’t do anything about hardware cheating. Besides the cheat devs are always one step ahead, whenever valve releases an update, most cheats have an update the same day or the next and it goes undetected again.
Ultimately you're slightly wrong, but I'm not going to fault you for your lack of knowledge. When DMA first started becoming a big issue, the CPU manufacturers we use today started working on counter-measures. Later they introduced something called IOMMUs, and this "completely" fixed the issue for a while. Then something called PCILeech was released and wrecked havoc. Then we got better at counter-measures against that. Then we started seeing more FPGA based DMA architecture. Then, and this is not common knowledge, Riot integrated IOMMU into their kernel anti-cheat. This basically lets them analyze memory access patterns in your I/O devices (DMA Hardware), which is why riot has been largely successful, albeit not completely, against DMA. So while you're right that Valve are at a disadvantage, you're not right about FPS games being doomed altogether. And to be frank, with Valve turning their focus towards AI, I'd hazard guessing that at one point they won't need anything else than it and overwatch. I don't think it'll ever be as good as a proper kernel anti-cheat, but I think they can get a whole lot better than they are today.
@@MikeWFX Nice writeup, it's rare to see someone be so knowledgeable about this stuff. Riot's Vanguard actually can put up a fight vs DMA cheats, they went into detail in their latest blogs. It's still an issue going forward but they are not unarmed.
in my honest opinion, at least for wall hacks you can't ever use ai because for some players who are in the zone and somehow have really good intuition and sometimes even put their cross hair exactly where they think the ops are can look like as waller to an ai. There is an effect called hallucinations which even the most perfected Language Models do(like CHATGPT) where they make up false information with full confidence.
@@greatsaiyaman4364there were always cheaters its just that because they have no “real anticheat” implemented right now pricks, even with skins on an account will continue to cheat
stopping all cheaters in all fps games that read memory is so easy , but they have to think out the box .the solution exist in overwatch 2 game. And they dont even need a kernel anti cheat or any kind of third software
to clarify: no captcha anymore checks what boxes you click, the ai is clever enough since atleast 10 years to do it better ;) ------ it checks your mouse movement and browser history to rule out you are a llm
this seems like a stupid idea. It's just prolonging the inevitable. And theres also a high risk that you could end up getting banned just by getting a couple lucky shots in a row. Just add kernal access it'll solve everything
isnt this overwatch has same principle as twitter community notes, ''sometimes" they (so called trusted player) make weird judgement on ppl post or give unnecessary context.... Better use kernel bruh
Cheating provider will always be ahead of the anti cheat. Even with AI the cheat providers will just start using it as well to avoid detection. This will never end until it's against the law everywhere with actual punishments for the developers
I remember a real life friend of mine said that he was invited as a "Judge" for the League of Legends tribunal back when that was a thing - he never, and I mean NEVER gave a "not guilty" verdict. He said that found it funny that even if somebody was innocent, they could get punished - for every case that was given to him, he said that the person was guilty no matter what and he would laugh about getting the confirmation that his tribunal cases would result in punishments, when he claims to have never even reviewed the matches himself. I can see that happening in CS2.
ohne, there is an ai that can full detect aimbot i forget the name of it but nonmatter what setting how legit it looks it will detect it, i think the same w walls (if i remember the name ill reply with it)
not real and AI has too many false positives or incorrect stuff. cant risk peoples accounts with AI because if it detects 1 false positive, say people are bhopping funny idk, and it just spams a ton of people that are bhopping, you have an issue. wont be for a while until people implement AI into any sort of security issue like that. true hardware/software detection and human peer reviews are still the way to go.
Ai can detect triggerbot easily, just see the ms rate they shoot at and if its consistently ridiculous or inhuman, ban. Detect walls? Maybe not, humans do stupid crap sometimes and get lucky. Detect aimbot, if the aimbot reacts faster then human reaction speed as in aim assist, yes, hold key aimbot, probably not. Bhop scripts, yes. Any visual cheat can be detected if it watches ure screen but that can easily be bypassed with some kind of advanced anti obs method.
bc this guy only care about glazing his cs2 fans/his viewers... so if there are chances that the game is getting better, thats a WIN for him as he can more GLAZE the game for his cs2 fans/viewers.
I can't wait for the great anti climax when everyone realises Valve are incapable of fixing the cheater issue in their own game. History always repeats in the end.
If it turns into cat and mouse game where cheating ai will emulate human behaviour to go off radar, I'm fine with that. At least there'll be no spinbots and lightcore cheaters are beatable alright.
ngl, they should just allow players to spectate random matches. to oversee it. After it finishes give them a case. and if they watch enough give them a random key. Only humans can see cheaters easy, software can’t otherwise CS would have no cheaters. Whatever this “Overwatch” thing is, it should be exactly that. Software won’t save people from cheaters.
I banned many cheaters on overwatch csgo but it's time costly and i stopped using it because why would i spend time with no reward when it's ultimatively VACs responsability,, they get paid.
Its not a VAC update to add Overwatch.... DEVELOP VAC TO IDENTIFY IRREGULAR BEHAVIOR. LIke spinnbot, shoot faster then a gun possible can, snapping HS. Come on....
I'm not installing a root kit to play cs. At that point I will quit. I much rather have privacy and play with cheaters than having literal spyware with back-doors on my pc like vanguard for instance.
the solution is very intrusive anticheats, no overwatch or AI will end cheating. It only ends rage hacking, even silvers trying to hide their cheats badly dont get banned by overwatch. So imagine a player with +5k hours with very good game sense, including good aim and crosshair placements etc. You won't be able to understand if they're cheating or not, it's not that hard to hide a wallhack if you have high elo and l play good without hacks. aimbots are even way harder to detect, if they have a very small aimbot. THeres a line between very good legit hackers and good players, even AI won't know for sure if the user is just that good or hes cheating. the only way is by having very intrusive anticheats and still it doesnt meant that cheaters will end by 100%. Most cheats nowadays run on ring 0, and developers are putting a lot of effort in cheats development because there is a lot of money involved. maybe hardware anticheats like analusing face with a webcam and pointing another webcam to the screen haha and calculating mouse movement with sensitity and in-game sensitivity, resolution etc and calculate if the mouse movement done would be on the position where the user shot. so yes, the perfect solution violates privacy very deeply and nobody would want to take that far just to play a game
AI cheats arent a bad thing honestly, its the obvious ones that are annoying. For example: Will a "human like AWP ai cheater" be able to beat a 5 man rush? I dont think so Wall hacks are useless if the teamplay sucks , nades kills the hacker and you just win afterwards
