Just wanted to say thank you for posting. This just happened to me, drivers side headlamp & parking light. Watched your video about eleven times. Seven eyelets later-solved! Much appreciated.
Glad it helped you out!
Thanks for your video, it was very helpful to me. I was able to successfully repair my 2010 jeep patriot ground wire issue. I have zero knowledge of cars beside to drive it. But using your video as a guide I bought the basic tools and repair my jeep. Took me about an hour and a half but it was rewarding. Thanks
Thanks for watching! I'm glad it helped you out 👍
out of all the videos I've seen..this is the one that helped me the most ...must appreciated !!
I'm glad it helped you out!
Car had that Forest Whitaker eye headlights!!! Awesome stickers though 😉 Thanks for the fix!!! You’re the best in the world at what you do!!!
You got it bro! I was thinking the Jeep was more like Capt. Ron though 😄
Lol love the commentary.
Thank you for the video. Helped me a lot with our Patriot. The right side blinker was driving me bonkers. Got into the large bundle of wires on the grounding point and started stripping wires and reconnecting in smaller bundles. I had some choice words for Chrysler. 😁
Glad it helped you out!
Encountered the same issue recently. Your video was perfect. I’m a regular Joe, not a mechanic, and was able to complete this in about 90min. I appreciate the detail in the video. It really helped and was the root cause of my issue.
Glad it helped you out! So far no further issues with the lights since this video either 👍
Were your headlights randomly turning off?
I’m having this exact problem. I will give it a try before the dealer charges me an arm and a leg! Thanks for this
Thanks for watching! Hopefully this helps keep you from having to go to the stealership......... errr..... I mean dealership to fix it cause they will charge you an arm and a leg.
Thank you, great video ! Solved my problem
Glad it helped you out!
Thanks, fixed it
Glad it helped you out 👍
Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I have the same issue will try it. The second grounding that you strip back and replaced had heat shielding I saw other video stating you should replace them instead of electrical tape
Hopefully it helps you out, and yes you can use the heat shrink instead of electrical tape.
Awesome job on the fix. It does look somewhat 'simple' to do but I'm sure it took a while to get it right. Pretty crazy the way those corrode like that.
Thanks! It did take a little bit to get done but I feel better that the car is safe to drive now
I always spray a little fluid film on after these types of repairs to protect the metal. The tape can make an incomplete seal and trap moisture
Great suggestion👍
Muy buen video. Explicacion con detalle
Gracias!
I have to do this. Thanks for the video 🤘🏿
I have similar issue with my 2013 Patriot, the right fog light is not working. I cut, reconnected and soldered the ground connection that is in front of the battery today--it did not fix my issue, but it was mildly corroded. Will follow your example and do the same with the other ground connection on the right side by the pulleys tomorrow. Hope that does it!
The right fog light would be in the bundle by the belts so hopefully that will get you back up and running again👍
@@JrZCarZ Yeah!! I reattached the ground bundle by the belts and my right fog light is working!! I used two ring connections but not much extra wire to work with, so I soldered the wires as well! Thanks!!
Great to hear it did the trick👍
Nice my 2014 Patriot does this rear passenger and I know it’s not the bulb , I’ll try those grounds wish me luck !
Good luck! So far the lights have been working great after the repair. 👍
Hey, thank you for this video you made. Question, what size eyelets rings? Thanks!
Thanks for watching. The ones I got were from the Home Depot and had a 3/8" eyelet so it would fit on the 10mm stud(they don't have metric ones there but you may be able to find the metric ones at an auto parts store).
Ese mismo fallo tenia yo y lo resolví así mismo cambien todos los terminales del motor tierra y todo listo
Same problem I have the same year as you too.
It's a common Chrysler issue. They didn't shield the wires enough and put grounds in an area where they get wet. Hopefully you got yours repaired!
Hi , any idea on how to fix a blinking dashboard ? ( indicators , crazy headlights , wipes, everything on and off) patriot 2014
Take a look at the ground points in this video, start there and see if you need to dig deeper. Sounds like grounding issues
i have the same issue on my passenger side, but my highbeams also stopped working. should this resolve that as well?
It's a very likely possibility if both high and low beam lights are out.
My 2010 jeep patriot is giving me the same problem. I went to the dealer and they charged me $495. It was too much so I'm going to fix it myself. I will buy my tools and tape tomorrow morning and fix the ground
Basically it's all labor so that sounds like 'I'm just going to take my time" shop rates. Just take your time and you should be able to get it done. Good luck
That was fantastic! I have the driver side problem and it looks like I'm going to have a problem with it from cutting back the tape to stripping the wires. I can't see when both hands are in there. I don't know if it can be done with one hand while holding a light in the other. I was hoping that you would show how you proceeded after moving the reservoir out of your way. I have it to that part, but I doubt I can open the eyelet with the pliers. I wonder if I should cut the bundle without trying to open the eyelet? I bought a short wire stripper but I am hesitant about my chances of stripping them with only one hand in there too. Any thoughts on this? Thanks again for your video, at least I know that I am on the right track.
My jeep patriot is a 2010 limited. It won't come out of 4 wheel drive and it sometimes jumps into 1st gear. The anti skid traction control lights are on and the passenger headlight and signal light are both out.
I opened up the eyelet just to see if there was extra meat on the bone with the wiring being that it's very tight in there, but you could always just cut the wire right at the eyelet and go from there (probably better off anyway cause it very well may be corroded). A lot of people have to cut far back enough to get clean copper and will need to extend the wires so it reaches the ground. I lucked out that it wasn't complete junk, but the next time it happens, l'll have to extend them
@JrZCarZ , thanks again. My Problem began with the front right indicator light going out. I still can't believe that you have to go through the wheel well to change that bulb. As soon as it was changed it went out seconds later and then my warning lights were all lit up.
Jeep Patriot 2013 . Right front headlight not working . Thanks !
Watch the video that'll help you out 😉
I have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee and the passenger turn signal is not working. I tried to look at the wires. Maybe I need to start from the ground first.
Yep start looking at the grounds first, then move from there.
Hi I am from Indiana and this is the problem I'm having with my 2007 Jeep compass, I'm so frustrated I'm supposed to be going out of state at the end of this month to see my daughter... do you have any suggestions on how I can get this done without paying too much money I'm in quite a pickle
Check the video out. It shows you how to fix it 😉
How the hell did you get to the 10mm bolt on the passengers side lol
There was enough room for a 1/4" ratchet or a 10mm wrench.
My cherokee keeps blowing my rear passenger parking break fuse 😢 the ground looks fine, I've traced it as much as i could but cant seem to finde the problem. The fuse blows instantly
@@JayChago it's still going to be a short to ground if it blows instantly. Trick is finding where the short is, if it's not at the ends which would be easily found.
@JrZCarZ so i messed with a few ground cables, now the passenger side doesn't blow but now the driver side does 😭. I put everything back to how it was and it stays the same
Where did you get the eyelets from?
Any parts store should have them but you can also get them from any home improvement store as well.
@@JrZCarZ thank you so much
I'm having that problem, on my driver side.. turn signal....
Check all the ground points in the video, I'll bet they are all corroded 👍
No right headlight on my jeep but everything else is fine
Follow the steps in the video if you already confirmed the bulb is good 👍
I will never understand why people continue to buy Jeep, Dodge, or Chrysler crap. Nothing is as good as it used to be, but these junk products have been junk and problematic for as long as I can remember
Some people have brand loyalty
Dam those northern cars get ate up with rust
Yep, it sucks but what are you gonna do? 😄
What’s the exact name of the eye lits
You can use the name eyelet or electrical ring terminal.
@@JrZCarZ thank you 🤘🏿
