I have a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. 4.0 liter motor. I had this problem even after replacing the headlight and flasher control mechanism. I had to replace the mechanism anyway because I couldn't turn my head lights on and off or use my high beams. My 4 ways worked, but still no turn signals. I always have to make my on repairs because I can't get help from anyone. I talked to my ex husband told him what I was going to do he said it wouldn't work. I told him I was going to follow your advice. Because I need to save where I can. So I followed your advice, and yes, it worked. I now have my turn signals and didn't need to spend another 65$ for the relay. 👍👍👍👍👍 My ex-husband couldn't believe I did it and it worked. Thank you so much.
Excellent video. I have been chasing this issue for a while, I bought cheap flasher units and they didnt even work. It took a magnifying glass, but I was able to see the crack in the solder joint and repaitr it.
Thanks for posting another great instructional video! Sometimes instrument clusters have the same issue where re-flowing the solder connections will get the malfunctioning section working again. I did a similar repair for the steering wheel wiper control on my son's 1999 Toyota 4Runner where the fix it to just replace the relay on the control board with a new one. The symptom was the wipers wouldn't park when the key was turned off and the intermittent speed didn't work correctly. When I purchased my used 2004 GC Overland a few years ago, I replaced all of my interior and exterior bulbs with LED's. Unfortunately, the conventional flasher relay expects a minimum current load to work properly without rapid flashing. I ended up buying a new flasher and went with the Novita LM519 Flasher that supports LED's. To me, installing resistors on an LED to make a conventional flasher relay work defeats the purpose of installing LED's.😉
Thanks for the tip I used a magnifying head set to see the cracks and recommend getting on of those to anyone not 25 with great eye site as these cracks are there like you said but too small for my old ass to see lol
My Jeep sat for a year or so. The hazards worked but the turn signals didn’t . I just turned the hazards on several times and left them in and miraculously, the turn signals revived.
Happened to me too, my left signal wasn't working, but the right signal & hazard flashers were. I live in a dusty climate, so I pushed the hazard switch up & down several times along with the left turn signal lever, and the left signal started working but was intermittent. Switch under hazard button dirty? I took the top & bottom covers off just behind the steering wheel exposing the hazard switch and there was a lot of dusty caked crud on & in the hazard switch that is tied with both left & right turn signal switches. I sprayed electric cleaner and all the crud dribbled out underneath, then the left turn signal has been working fine ever since. I could have wasted $$ buying a new flasher relay that wouldn't have fixed it, it was just dusty dirty crud that had accumulated on the hazard switch, cleaned, then working well again.
hello, please, I have a 2007 jeep grand cherokee wk, could you please help me with the electrics? I am installing an aftermarket remote start, but I have a problem solving the ACC position of the switch box
Need advice. My parents have a 2007 Grand Cherokee Laredo that has some blinker/hazard/taillight issues and I've kinda of narrowed the issue down to this relay. I ordered a replacement relay but today when I went to dive into the driver side lower dash I couldn't find the relay box. It isn't above the fuse panel and JB-C1/JB-C2 terminals. Every Jeep video I find shows it on that driver side side above the fuses. Does anyone know where this particular relay is on the '07 Laredo?
Hi could you tell me if i should try this, left front blinking fast.. all right sides are working but back left not at all..do you think your fix will help? Ty

Literally just wiggled the relay up and down on the 02 jgc and it made them work again
May still have broken solder. I could wiggle mine and it would work sometimes, sometimes it wouldn’t.
Much appreciated, my signals in my 01 grand Cherokee just started working only when they want to
This would be a good place to look! Thanks for the view!
Thanks Tyler, I was able to repair mine this way today!!!

I carry a spare from a wrecker but it's great to know how to fix it, thank you!
No problem, I used to always grab a few from the salvage yard myself! Thanks for the view!

This is much better than virtue signaling 😊

Thanks for another great video!
Glad you like them!
I just can't locate a led relay for my 99 grand cherokee. I can only find 5 pin led relays. Does anyone have a link for the led relay?

I'm having this exact same problem. We're you able to figure out how to fix it?
My 2000 wj passenger headlight blinks with the same side blinker… I’m at a loss
That's a weird one! Sound like a wiring issue at the headlight though.
