I'd say while you're at the U-pull yard , just pull the front bumper cover off. It'll have the fog lights and brackets built in, then no need to modify your existing. I think I'll go this route, as the WJ I just got has one end of the bumper cover a bit dented. Win-win. If you have to cut like this, I bet ABS cement will attach that bracket just fine. Great video, thanks. I'll add Mine was prewired for the light sensor and auto headlights. I noticed the sun visors were not prewired for the lighted visors, so I'll have to run to the EVIC for power for those parts. I'm hoping mine also has the fog lights prewired like yours did.
Some places, that front cover is $50 while the lights are $10 each. Not saying not to, but the price can quickly double or triple for this modification if you go this route depending on where you get the parts from.
@@TylerPotter That's what I was thinking. I also want to get the rear bumper cover , trailer wiring harness and tow hitch also to add the hitch to my Laredo.
@@JosePerez-ky8dy The wire was taped up to the frame behind the bumper. I got the new turn signal that had auto-headlights and fog lights on it and then I just needed the bumper cover with fog lights and the sun sensor on the dash and I had fog and headlights.
Awesome Tyler ! My 04 jeep is going through factory plus upgrades, found a bunch of limited and overlands at my local u pull and parts are dirt cheap! Already pulled foglight switch, rain sensor, evic, leather power/memory/heated seats, limited door panels. still trying to install all these options but still looking at what other factory options i can grab from u pull and retro fit . i know the wiring for all these factory options is going to be pita, so thank you for making this one easy for me. Would love to see more vids like this for wj!
Awesome I have been told that only 1999-2001 are pre-wired from the factory so make sure you have the wiring connectors there before you get the parts, but the tow hook are always an awesome mod! Thanks for the view!
Even on WJs with fog lights, the clips to hold the connectors are there. You can also use a small LED foglight in the delete area, cut the connector off the factory harness, and use the factory wiring to run aftermarket foglights. I had to do that since I had to cut the entire bracket off to fit 17x9.5 wheels with a -12 offset.
Hey Tyler, super helpful video, I'm looking to do the same thing on my 03 and you're the first person I've found who's actually done it! Any chance you'd be willing to take a few questions? Do you have a way I could DM you?
I have heard that the later WJ's aren't prewired, so defiantly check to make sure yours has the wiring and connectors there before you buy parts. Thanks for the view! My email should be listed in the "about" section.
I was at the salvage yard pulling the Headlight Mounting Header Panel for my Jeep G. Cherokee and noticed those prewired factory plugs like on yours. I had planned on adding fog lights to mine, but alas, mine wasnt prewired. Thats what led me to looking YT and was hoping to find a way. The good thing is mine already has the auto headlight feature and I noticed the fog light notation on the switch. Weird why there is no wiring for the foglight
@@TylerPotter Thats exactly what I was thinking - someone replaced the switch before. Still, havent found a way to wire fog lights and would love that feature.
I think this jeep had 265/70R17 with a 2in spacer lift but they were a little large for only the 2in lift, a 245/70 or 255/70R17 seems to fit a lot better with the 2in lift. Thanks for the view!
Wish i knew about the relay. Guy added them on my 2004 i bought but dont know if relay was put in. Im def gonna grab some relay for backup. What tires are those?
Yeah so many of these have been taken apart in the past that it is always interesting to see what random hardware they have been put back together with! Thanks for the view!
So I did everything you said but the lights don’t turn on is it because I don’t have the auto switch light sensor? Or is there a specific fuse that I need because I pulled three from WJs with fog lights and they still don’t turn on
I have read that they possibly only pre-wired the 1999-2001 WJ's and the 2002-2004's aren't wired. I looked at my 2004 Laredo and it isn't wired. Thanks for the view!

This is true, this would be a good time to change the front bumper if yours is damaged.
@@TylerPotter That's what I was thinking. I also want to get the rear bumper cover , trailer wiring harness and tow hitch also to add the hitch to my Laredo.
Was yours wired for fog lights because my 02 isnt

Thanks! Sounds like you are making an awesome WJ! Thanks for the view!
Hey Tyler, thanks for sharing this informative tutorial!!! 👍👍
Thanks!
These OEM+ videos are absolutely awesome. My 2001 WJ will be a happy camper. Curious to see what more you'll discover is prewired and can be salvaged.
I do love adding cool factory things! Thanks for the view!
Excellent video. My next project along with front tow hooks 🥃🥃🥃

I feel like Tyler is on a mission to save every WJ he finds on the road that's been sick lol
Lately it has felt that way! lol
keep making the wj video n video like this one
Thank you! Will do!

That also works and you'll get A LOT more light with modern aftermarket LEDs. Thanks for the view!

No problem!
Do u got a video for heated seats instal like if i don't have factory heated seats

That is weird unless someone replaced the switch with the incorrect one in the past. Thanks for the view!
@@TylerPotter Thats exactly what I was thinking - someone replaced the switch before. Still, havent found a way to wire fog lights and would love that feature.
That’s a great how to… Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Can you please do a factory heated seats or homelink video upgrade. Also is the wireing in the back to add the rear 12v plug on all wjs?
I have not looked into the heated seats before but I need to take a look for the rear 12v power. Thanks for the view!
Hey tyler was wondering what size tires are you or were u running on those wheels and if u used any spacers or if your wj has. Alift to fit those
I think this jeep had 265/70R17 with a 2in spacer lift but they were a little large for only the 2in lift, a 245/70 or 255/70R17 seems to fit a lot better with the 2in lift. Thanks for the view!

What tires are those?
Those were 265/70R17 BGF K02's. A little big for the 2in lift but they looked pretty cool! Thanks for the view!
I'm pretty sure the bottom 2 fasteners on that panel are 10 mm head bolts they are on mine at least
Yeah so many of these have been taken apart in the past that it is always interesting to see what random hardware they have been put back together with! Thanks for the view!
Does the multi shifter pop out without power. Found 2 at the yard but forst cant get to pop for nothing. But havent installed yet.
The headlight switch or the shifter?
So I did everything you said but the lights don’t turn on is it because I don’t have the auto switch light sensor?
Or is there a specific fuse that I need because I pulled three from WJs with fog lights and they still don’t turn on
Did you also add the fog light relay?
Yes I added it on the bottom left corner
Will the connectors only be clipped there or is there anywhere else they could be? (03 laredo)

My 04 WJ doesn't have the wiring for the fog lights. Anywhere else to locate them?
I think they unfortunately stopped pre-wiring them in 2002. Thanks for the view!
@@TylerPotter so it wouldn’t be possible to install for 03-04 models
