I'm doing it right now on August 2024 and I would say that is wild. Really nostalgic.
I loved how the levels in this game took like a solid hour or two to beat in one sitting. Turok 2 was no joke.

An hour or two? It took me weeks to beat each level.
I beat part 1 in sixth grade feeling like a god. Played part 2 like "alright, this is gona be long"
I spent 3 hours on the first level on Easy mode yesterday and only got 2/3 beacons and one kid :/ this shit is hard on N64

One of the 'holy trinity' of N64 games for me; the other two being GoldenEye and Perfect Dark.
might wanna go bafck and replay it. first level has one second of input latency and an average of about 12 fps. high quality design if ever ive seen it

The screams for help in the background used to really fuck me up when i was a kid.
Damn this game was so ahead of it's time. The N64 could barely run it, and had terrible draw distance. Even then, the frame rate would tank sometimes. One of my favorite games ever made!

Hive of the Mantids was the hardest level, just because of the fog. I hope some kick ass mods launch for the "remastered" versions!

DICKBUTT PENISDRAGON to be honest, i think that is what has destroyed todays games...2d crap on the screen taking you away from the experience, nav points , too many hints destroying all the mystery, what works about games like turok, perfect dark, half life is that you have to think for yourself, figure out areas without a map, trial and error, its genuinley the best way

I'll never forget my first time shooting one of those gorilla like enemies in the death marches and seeing a hole get blown through it's chest, just blood and a part of the spine left. This game had amazing gore for the time.

She was hotter here in Turok 2. She still was hot in Shadow Of Oblivion, but I think her pale white skin and her pony tail hair made her just more attractive.

Shou Liengod yeah that's the reboot aptly named, ""Turok"" right? All in green on the cover?... Played it for the 360... AWESOME GAME. So good even, I binge played the whole story mode and felt empty inside when it was over!! Also loved 3& RAGE WARS... hated T1 & Evolution though.
I'm currently playing it on the N64 and I never completed the game before. Now it's gonna be a piece of cake with your vids, thanks for pointing out the important stuff in the description.

The awesome thing about this game is that i could care less about killing the Primagen,getting there.... now thats the fun!!!! so many secrets, so many weapons, so many ways to get lost,there are caves, cities,underwater, lava, you name it and danger lurks in every corner,i played this game when it first came out and i'm playing it again now,i forgot how good it was, had to come here and brush up a bit,so many twist and turns.
Little bit of trivia for the youngsters,back in those days there really was no internet, i mean there was but primitive, nothing like today,if you got stuck in a game they had these 1900 numbers you could call and get tips it was like 6 dollars a minute,lol , no RUclips to come to, they also sold booklets that specialized in a particular game and it had the maps and things like that to help you out,not just Turok but way before then too,back then if you needed help you were gonna pay for it one way or another.

Had this game when I was a kid, was terrified by it, I'd play the begining section over and over again and reset at the encounter with the first few dinosaurs, because I was too scared to keep going forward. Now I'm much older, and I realize I missed out on what looks like a great game, I think I'll be getting it on my PC.
This game was really dark,i couldn't imagine a child playing it without having nightmares ,when it first came out i was probably 24 or so and i really enjoyed it, great game.

I guess I'm really late because I just learned there was a remaster for the Turok games. I remember when Turok 2 came out there had never been a game for the N64 with so much voice audio. I also remember reading a news article back then that said even Nintendo didn't know how they managed to do it at the time. Games like Gex: Enter The Gecko had voice content but it had to be massively cut for the N64 port. It was one of the reasons why many N64 ports were of less quality than their PC or Playstation counterparts. There's literally a pre and post Turok 2 N64 era. After Turok 2, other developers like Rare managed to put a lot of audio files in their games. I wonder who was behind this milestone, who came up with the idea and how they did it.
I realize why I was frustrated with the Turok games. They did nothing to tell you which way to go. The catacombs level in the first one had me walking in circles for hours

A relative gifted me the ultra rare black version but I was too young to appreciate how awesome this game was - I want to kick myself on the head for selling it.
Also dang boy don't be afraid of the dinos - Talon rush them. Jump slashes headshot them like a mofo.
You can see yourself wasting ammo on the Velociraptor encounters-Talon is just so effective against anything except Mantis or whatever the fk those insect humanoids are in the late levels.

Unfortunately one big design flaw this game has is that you need to constantly backtrack. In order to get to that place you need to finish level 1 and go to lvl 2 or 3 (dont remember which) and find a special item which will allow you to reach this location.

Might not be the biggest, but definitely one of the toughest enemies from lev1.
I think it depends on what weapon you’re using against it. Shotgun or any range weapon is difficult because it moves too fast and attacks too fast,thus causing more damage. Using the talon or war blade can help kill it faster

I didn't know when I made the video, but on PC you can change the FOV by opening the console and typing "set fov X".

Yes. Turok 2 has various spots like this we call "ammo station". It takes a while but ammo respawns forever, so you can never run totally dry.
