I remember when I was watching this. When the music started...I started going NUTS...and when he threw it...I was just going crazy...for any die-hard Superman fan...this was perfect...
I binged watching the first 3 seasons and I started watching season 4 when it was aired. This episode was aired when i was finoshing high school. Such a sweet memory.
This was when I started watching Smallville (the summer gap between 4 and 5 is when I watched 1 2 3 and 4 to catch up). I had seen the movies several times so when he was suddenly in the snow and threw the crystal, I was like "😱they are bringing the Fortress to the show. The REAL one😁"
I remember this ending scene for the season finale until the next season episode, this scene when I first viewed it on CW 11 years ago gave me a feeling of -Yeah his destiny is coming close for him to become SUPERMANNNNNN!
This was a good saga/season, I love how they made the story for the fortress more complicated than just "it came with me on the ship", but it felt like they rushed this part of the story, just getting the last 2 at the last minute... :/
The fortress was amazing. I think the fortress also existed outside time as well because when Lana died Jorel gave him a crystal that would send him back to morning before Lana died but not before warning him that there was only one crystal. If the fortress was not outside time as well then since he was in his earlier body he could have gone back to the fortress and taken another crystal. This means that whatever the fortress in the present also effects it in the past and as well as the future
Okay I accept this I have been alot dream flying like Clark Kent did since high school and college long time ago, flying in the cloud so fast from low to high to touch the sky.............
This show was great and one of the best tv-shows ever and I really hope it is true what they are saying that this show will return in year 2018 it deserves 100% and the only reason they ended was because Tom wanted to leave the show, but if this happens it needs with the same actors, but season 10 was poor and they turned in real drama and they also change story as they said at the end of season 9 that it will be about general Zod meeting his son and more about krypton and kryptonians but they change everything.
Yeah the ending was awesome, so exciting when he got transported and the Fortress was created....I always laugh in this scene cuz I imagine Clark saying to Jor-El "I don't have time for THIS SHIT!" :-P
so did i basically just hear that JorEL told clark that the future of earth was already in danger from elements from space,. So this was already foreshadowing Darkside arrival in season 10
Jor-El was talking about Brainiac who came to liberate Zod. When the stones were in contact with human blood, it indicated to Brainiac ship that a portal for Zod could be opened on Earth, and that Kal-El was certainly sent on Earth
"The elements can not fall into the hands of a human. That's why we put them on the Earth, homeworld of the humans, and hid them amongst human cultural artifacts, and seemingly befriended a tribe of native American humans who we told all our secrets too and to whom we entrusted our weird stone carved technology. Also, we did all this in the ancient past, but also only like 20 years ago, depending on which season you're watching.
I was every sick and pissed at Clark because he blames Jor-el(named after the real Jor-el on Krypton) at everything when Jor-el tried to tell Clark he's destined to save Earth (Clark done those troubles himself).
The most stupid decision is Clark deciding not to come back to Jor-El in the beginning of season 5 while he was told by him that Earth was in danger. Come on, man
+cyclopstb & +Amikeur: It's easy to say that in hindsight, sure, but we didn't learn until later that all the things Clark went through were his Kryptonian rites of passage. Jor-El's AI didn't explain to him the customs of Krypton, even though Clark had no frames of reference with which to understand them since he was raised on Earth amongst humans.
Stop your whinging cyclopstb, you're looking at this through the eyes of a viewer and not the fact that clark was raised as a human, he knows jackshit about jor-el. This isn't henry cavil where he INSTANTLY accepts his superman and arrogantly preaches it like a religion like his ALWAYS known when he only found out minutes ago "duh the S stands for hope"
@@VTuber_Clipp3r Exactly. Is easy to say that now as a viewer, when you know exactly how it ends. But throw the Clark's eyes, that is a genius plot twist, make Jor-el some mysterious megalomaniac who only god knows wtf he want. Such a good move.
Smallville is a good show it was good on the wb and the cw. smallville was really good on the cw but when it was on the wb the first five seasons were really really good. that's how good the show was on the wb i used two really's. wednesday nights on the wb were epic and they sometimes would show an episode on sunday nights too they called it easy view because it's easy for you to view.
Mark Snow and Louis Febre only released a handful of Smallville OST, so the name is unknown. But it's definitely a rendition of John Williams' Superman theme.
Those first 4 season were good, after that it was ok, but the first 4 season o men That was hype and dope, I remember i didn’t miss the show, if I’m not wrong there was a disagreement with producers or directors. Something happened and the show was never the same. I think the fist team of producers left i really get disappointed after de 5 season never the same.
The one thing I disliked about this series is how fucking long it took Clark to embrace who he is and his final battle with Darkseid ended up wuth him just fighting smoke.
tyrel ramnarine Christopher Reeve was good, but he wasn't the only Superman. Tom did a good job, as did Henry Cavill. Tom portrayed different stages of Superman's growth in terms of natural progression, and why he choose to do the things he does as Superman (go public, be a proactive hero, wear glasses as a disguise for Clark Kent, wear a costume and bright colors, etc)
Technically weird season for me to introduce Kal-El fortress and to proceed Clark's life after high school especially with Isobel presence and the Supernatural thing, the story too off for me since the producer connect this extraterrestrial thing with black magic.
trying to use logic here destroys what Jor-El is saying. The stone is from Krypton, which awakens a ship with two Zod loyalists sleeping on it in a meteor. When human blood touches the stone, made by Jor-El, it somehow sends a message to Zod's faction to attack Earth? Weird fail safe.
Clark Kent/Kai EL had to get the Three Stones & Lana lang went the farm & give Clark the stone & lana said that she love Clark kent in the season 4 Finale.
The stones' story was cool, but filled way too much with unnecessary plot devices. You had Genevieve Teague who wanted them for herself, Jason trying to protect Lana from his mother, Lana being literally possessed by a 16th-century witch, and Lex trying to learn all about them for himself. It was a convoluted mess, and sadly not the only one that plagued "Smallville". The Doomsday arc suffered the same number of setbacks, if not more, and don't even get me started with the completely pointless Darkseid plot in Season 10.
What I find is the most stupid thing is he weakness to a green stone that makes him vulnerable and most stupid thing is people that has the stones that are not suppose to know his weakness at all have them every time he turns up to save some one or to get something like is everyone telepathic in these programs or what now I know the parents know but how the feck does everyone one know out the box that doesn't know can anyone tell me that a ? haha
I remember when I was watching this. When the music started...I started going NUTS...and when he threw it...I was just going crazy...for any die-hard Superman fan...this was perfect...
They didn't always get it right, but there were moments on Smallville when we got to watch one of the best versions of Superman. This was one of them.
I binged watching the first 3 seasons and I started watching season 4 when it was aired. This episode was aired when i was finoshing high school. Such a sweet memory.

...Sounds AWESOME! 🙂
Who was sitting at the edge of their seat watching this finale the first time it aired on Tv? ✋ I was intense from the beginning to end, so epic.
me
I was I remember fighting with my sister over the TV to see this finale.
@@mattmccullough1093Same here, she wanted to see The OC but I insisted on watching this, in the end I won, lol.
That segment is really beautiful. All that snow! The Fortess of Solitude, and everything.
Derek Mathews, are you related to Cory? He's a long time friend.
4:51 The way it pointed into the direction he’s suppose to throw it is epic! as if it spoke to him somehow
AMENNNN WOOOOO SUPERMANNNNN!
This show has to get a movie!!!!!!!!
It was supposed to. It didn't because of Superman returns.
I remember watching this for the first time and as soon as I saw the ice, I shouted "THE FORTRESS!"
SAMEEE AkA His Fortress Of Solitudeee YEAHHHHH 👍
I forgot how good smallville was. not every episode was good but most of them were.
+albert thorp True
@Patrick H They called Welling back to play Superman in Supergirl, but he refused. Welling always refused to wear Superman suit.
This was the moment smallville went from great, to ground breaking

Man small ville was soooooo awesome! Still is!!!
Epic ending to season 4
I watch Smallville clips when I feel all hopeless and it renews my faith

This is awesome Smallville was amazing
"there is nothing you can do to stop the meteor shower" *proceeds to say what he needs to do to stop the meteor shower*
He told him he couldn't stop the meteor shower and that the real threat was what was coming after.
Jor-El is talking about stopping Zod’s arrival
the best superman i ever seen love to watch this the story of how he became superman and all about him
best Clark Kent ever!!!
Most epic scene when this first aired 🙌
Still get goosebumps
gone but never forgotten!
frellin brilliant I forget how good some of these were and some great lore that the films seem to forget about
This and the series finale are my favorite episodes.
I got chills at the end 😮
First time I saw this I was like...
YYYYYEEEESSSS!!!!!!!!!!

Urgh Clark's stubborness and naivety just irks me he just doesn't listen then wants to act self righteous when things go wrong.
