    I have been trying the waltz jump lately .didn't understand why I couldn't land it....turned out my skate's heel was ripping off! It's in repair right now . thank you for the tutorial! I land it just fine with rental skates now

    It is also a good idea, when just starting off with spins, to only do 2 or 3 rotaions, to help get used to overcoming dizziness.

      It's not as easy in skating, as in ballet from what I understand.

      In figure skating you spin to fast to be able to do that, most figure skaters say they just get used to it

    Thanks I love these vids I started with your starters tutorial because I already know how to go forward but not backward and then I watch this one then the next and so on I like them because you aren't explaining them REALY complex you are keeping it simple great job👍🏻

    Thank you so much for making! I took a few figure skating lessons in high school and am now trying to get back to it at age 39! Your videos really break things down and I have found them to be the best homework to go along with my classes :-) :-)

    this really motivates me to go to the ice rink and practice! i don't want to be a professional skater but landing a jump would make me so happy! but i have no one to go to the rink with :((

      Oh my gosh, I hope you still went! You could meet people there or at a learn to skate class. I go alone a lot even though I have a co worker who skates.

    That was really helpful! I like also how you replayed it a couple times in slow motion. I am taking up figure skating again (I am 12) and I keep trying to do a spin but I can't quite get it. My mom says that I can't start lessons until I am 13 so I'm glad I can look on here for help!

      1. You're not too old to start! I know people who've started at 30+, and still have become quite good at it!

      You pick a foot that you are the most comfortable with, and have the most control over it. I hope that helped:)

      not really as I tend to write with my left hand and use scissors with my right hand and I switch my cutlery from hand to hand when I eat.
