I love playing Falco but he so goddamn light for how big he is. The light characters have the advantage of being small and hard to hit but Falco doesn't which is a pretty big weakness. (Mewtwo also has this problem).
The coolest mixup at ledge imo is when you drop off, jump, then wall jump into phantasm, hit your opponent, and then bair! Or wall jump b reversed laser is real discombobulating for your opponent, although it’s risky.
Interesting looking at this guide more than a year later, as Falco has direct buffs to his moveset, but also has slightly nerfs due to a universal increase in shield size.

How do you consistently turn around fast enough prior to double jumping for the uptilt-bair kill confirm? Any input tips that make it easier? I have a hard time turning around and getting the true combo to work.
at 3:17 how is he able to ladder sheik 3 times at such low %? every time i try to go for up throw or up tilt and try to fast fall between each up air, my opponent has plenty of time to act. is the up tilt to 3 up airs a true combo or did sheik not react quick enough? also, how do you know if you're supposed to fast fall when doing a ladder combo? sometimes, i see people up air, up air, jump, up air. other times i see up air, fast fall, jump up air, up air. i want to improve my juggling game as falco and i feel like this is key to understand but i'm not getting it.
The only thing Sheik can do in this case is an airdodge which isnt frequently something people go to when being combo'd because of the punish risk. Basically you have to keep trying until you get the feeling for it. If you CAN fastfall and upair again you should, simply because that way you keep your second jump. You'll get the feeling for it if you've done it enough but for me it helped to look at the position Falco is in when hitting and what the % is.
At 6:10 you're talking about killing with fair/nair dragdown usmash/dsmash, since it's quite similar to Pikachu's nair dragdown dmash I think you can use the same tip given by ESAM in his video about control scheme : using A+B buttons for Smash, and when doing fair/nair, press and maintain B to buffer a smash when landing
Larry's guide is pretty universal. but for lucina specifically, stop grounded approaches with laser and stop aerial approaches with anti airs like uptilt and fair. Most of her grounded moves are laggy at the end so you can punish how you like, I usually go for uptilt/grab combos. Once in the air, She has a bit of start up on most aerials, so you wanna Juggle her to rack up damage or force her off stage. When shes off stage ABUSE LASER. Every swordies recovery is kinda obvious and have the same counter play. Snipe jumps with laser or go out for a fair for the kill. Be careful against Chrom/Ike bc if they see the fair coming, they will up b early and drag you down with them. At kill percents, punish laggy stuff with kill moves, like down smash smash and down tilt. And mix up your recovery like larry said so you dont get predictable. Keep your double jump if possible
Benny Warren fighting Lucina is similar with all characters, you have to wait for her to throw her hit box out, most likely forward air, and then punish. With Falco I’d probably implement dash away b reverse laser to force the opponent to shield which you can punish or jump which you can punish after the Lucina gets greedy and lands with fair.
Use relfector to stuff out her short hop approaches and dash in dash out/anti air her full hop approaches and edgeguard her with lasers and also reflector works as well sometimes.
Found this on Reddit my dude, hope it helps: Uptilt -> turnaround (if you are facing them) -> jump -> double jump rising back-air. It kills near the ledge in the 90 - 120% range or even more depending of the character you are facing. Works on every characters. And since fastfall nair true combo into uptilt, this should be your main kill setup with running uptilt.
Yeah its fast so its good to poke shields with. Also at higher percents if you hit them with ftilt you can shoot laser to lock them if they miss tech and then side b to aerial if you do

I use Tilt stick, no tap jump, high sensitivity, and I'm trying to mess around with having left trigger bound to jump. It doesn't really seem optimal but a lot of people like trigger jumps so I'm trying it out
@@zBatos I got you - jump on Z sounds wild but makes more sense on a GC controller than a trigger tbh. Do you tend to be able to get shorthop aerials as easily that way?
Josh McQ pressing y and z at the same time for a short hop is sometimes inconvenient for me but I only like that setup cause I use z and c stick at the same time for those short hop attacks. That’s why I’ve thought about claw that way I can lay my index finger over y and x at the same time

Mewtwo's size is a bigger problem, because, ya know, tail hitbox. Also, Mewtwo isn't as good with combo breaking.

You can also do a side-B to a back air with possibly another side-B. It's a good quick damage combo.

Smash the stick left or right like you would a smash attack and jump at the same time and then perform a back air. C-stick bair works best.

It's timing the aerial to hit just before you land, not inputting the smash attack that makes it hard
Falco was recently buffed. I forgot all of the buffs except for one. Grounded side-b is faster now.
