Brandon Dennis the joke is that Zelda’s kicks are way stronger than sheik’s, despite being the same person.
Zelda relies on magic, and has never done leg day

Can relate.
In my experience, it is more important to be able to react when a parry happens and punish out of it immediately, than it is to be able to parry on demand.
@@AaronRotenberg Exactly!
@@AaronRotenberg while I agree that is true, learning to parry against characters like roy/chrom, fox, wolf, or characters with easy to read approach options can make the match ups so much easier.
I remember not being able to know how to parry, then I got seven of my attacks parried by a Mario into upsmash (I was playing Palutena btw, and the moves that got parried were either fairs or back airs, since landing nair is less safe), and after eating around seven up smashes, it suddenly made sense and I learned how to parry. It's a miracle on characters with safe nairs or who fish for down air kill confirms.

How to beat Ridley:
*Remind him that he was the most requested character of all time yet was dumped by the community the moment the game got released*
Also don’t get naired (yes I’m a Ridley Main)
A fellow ridley main, i see. Not many of us exist nowadays.
In my country we have a sick top 5 ridley player
Can't Stop Won't Stop Ridley secondary for life ( cause I can't abandon my boy Kirby....)
the people who request characters in smash and the people who play smash competitively are almost completely separate. there's a lot of people still grateful about Ridley being in smash because not every smash fan sees the characters as just frames and hitboxes.
@@BrozdoVSN Yeah this to. I love characters even if I don't play them. And I'll play one character with my competitive friends and a different character with my "for fun" friends.
Here's some tips I have:
- Pretty obvious, but don't shield Bowser Bomb. It breaks full shields
- Don't get grabbed by Wolf at 50-60% on ledge as down-throw to Wolf Flash is true and sweetspots if not DI'd properly
- Simillar to what BananaBoy said, don't pressure Luigi's shield if the move isn't safe, as if he parries it or just blocks it, he'll up-B you
- Don't shield Dedede's f-smash as when sweetspotted, it can destroy full shields. The same applies to fully charged Jet Hammer
- When Incineroar has Revenge, DO NOT get side-B'd or grabbed, as he can get some insane damage off of it. 75% from a single attack
- G&W's Judge has fairly slow start-up so if your reaction time is good, you can shield it. But it's risky since Judge-3 and 9 does massive shield damage
- Don't shield Ganon's Volcano Kick as it destroys full shields. It's a pretty decent ledge-trapping option despite how slow it is
- Try and parry or avoid DK's Heabutt as it almost destroys full shields
- Be aware of down-B to up-smash when fighting DK as it's a true combo and kills early
- Respect Greninja's side-B as it kills eariler than you'd expect
- Greninja obliterates linear recoveries with his counter as he can direct it downwards for an easy spike
- Always shield Green Missile as misfire is super strong. It's easy to punish as well, but watch out if he misfires for recovery, it's nearly unbeatable
- Be aware of Snake's up-tilt, it's super strong. Down-throw to up-tilt is one of his best kill setups so try not to get grabbed at higher percents
- Don't shield Litlle Mac's KO Punch as it goes through shields
- Play super passive when Pac-man has the bell when you're at high percents, as getting hit by it is an easy f-smash. Or bait him into using it
- It's not always the safest choice to shield Bowser Jr.'s Clown Car Dash, as if both the dashing hitbox and rollout hitbox hits, it does high shield damage
- Shielding Hero is pretty risky. Hatchet Man destroys full shields and he can easily get buffs to destroy a shield in a single tilt-attack
- Slap your forehead in agony as Pikachu combos you for 2 days straight. Then rage quit once he takes your stock
Most of the new comments are basically “I came here from Leffen, so that means that I’m gonna be an asshole to show off the fact that I’m a Leffen fan. I also can’t play the game either, but that’s not important”
Axel Wolf I mean he said in the beginning that they’re just really short generalizations. I’m not sure why people were expecting ESAM and ZeRo level breakdowns on each character.
Axel Wolf Yeah but most of the people commenting after Leffens videos were expecting in depth breakdowns and are making stupid comments because of it, henceforth why I made my original comment.
NixUniverse Well some of the stuff were pretty inaccurate. Stuff like trying to challenge pk thunder. That almost never worked for me as pk trainer
Kevin Nguyen Not sure how that justifies getting a bunch of ignorant mean comments but alright.
I just found this in my recommendation and it's very interesting even though I have a main and have play smash for a few year since smash 4
What I learned? Just shield and play as the Miis.
Fact:
Incineroar's Neutral Special can break shield if most of the hits connect (especially the 1st, without that it won't)
@OpGamers just because you know it doesn't mean it's common knowledge. I for one am grateful that I have been told this.
@OpGamers I main Incineroar and most people I play against usually get shield broken by Neutral-B. Just because you watch videos on how to git gud doesn't mean everyone else does.
@OpGamers Just because you keep up with non meta relevant characters doesn't mean everyone else does
@OpGamersAnd from the comments of this thread, it looks like it's not common knowledge, so using anecdotal evidence will get us nowhere. How about instead, you just not generalize a gimmicky trait of a below average character as common knowledge.
@OpGamers please look up anecdotal evidence because that's exactly what you're presenting. I'm just saying don't generalize it as common knowledge, and personally, I'll only consider it common knowledge if an empirical study is done showing it to be so.
Bananaboy is just pretending he doesnt like Miis, in reality he just doesnt want people to know how to fight them!!!

@@unnamedkidn.5944 Dark Pit may be relatively honest, but he still does have Super Armor on a burst option that kills early
This does not only teach you how to best certain characters, it also teaches how to mixup your gameplay to be more unpredictable

"He's mostly Mario but with a few differences, mostly worse differences"
It hurts because its true :(
Don't underestimate Dr Mario, he has one advantage that makes him way better than regular Mario...
His higher income.
he isn't though. kinda threw me when he said that. I mean he's def worse than mario but the two characters play completely differently. It's like comparing Captain Falcon and Ganondorf.
Mario relies on combos and low damage while doctor relies on damage and not combos.
I mean, I guess his back throw is better, and although his foward air doesn't spike, it hits like a truck. But honestly, who needs a spiking foward air with a down air like that.
His recovery is still shit though
Yeah bro, down b on doc is way worse than mario's flood, doc's damage is worse than mario's, his bair is WAAAY worse than Mario's, forward air sucksss broo... Can u not

Clearly, Mii fighters are top tier cause they can change up their moveset anytime they want.
Pokemon trainer: *Same*

kirby in an 8 player game with mii fighters, pokemon trainers, and shulk. "did you say... move changes???"
As a Brawler main, I can say look out for moveset 1312, or anything 13X2. Brawler has scary moves and kill confirms. Try to space them out, and look out for Soaring Axe Kick.
24:57
From my experience as a Mii gunner main and from fighting miis here's what I can tell you:
I usually punish missed techs with dash attacks and charge shots, so jumping or teching denies my go-to free damage.
If you get caught in uptilt, jumping away is the safe option since there's a chance I'm fishing for you to challenge it so I can shield and uptilt again.
When edgeguarding, don't just stand on the ledge while watching Mii gunner recover, be ready to shield stealthbomb since not alot of characters expect it, and getting hit by it gives Mii gunner a free mean of getting back on stage. There's not alot offensively she can do if you do decide to edgeguard.
F-smash has good range, but it can be jumped over easily, and if the whole thing is blocked, is very punishable. up smash doesn't quite reach if it's under someone who's on a platform.
Up air can call out people who are being juggled and are trying to use a fast downward attack like Bowser's down special and banjos dair. Nair is slow enough to attack gunner before she can attack you, and back throw only kills at the ledge at very high percentage.
Mii swordfighter: all I really know is watch out for tornadoes when you're hanging on the ledge. If you lose invincibility, it can hit you under the ledge and can kill confirm you relatively early.
Mii brawler: I honestly don't know anything useful to say about fighting them except don't get suicide killed by his recovery.
Carlos Escobar As a Brawler Main I will say a few things to help complete this:
-Only use safe options/projectiles against shields I get many kills with Up-Smash out of shield (which is frame 8 and the sweetspot has intangible legs, the sweetspot is infront and abouve him and the sourspot behind him)
-Don‘t overuse shield if the opponent has suplex it will hit if you don‘t expect it and deal 20%
-Don‘t underestimate his juggling ability’s, I see many players trying to land with an jointed airial and start with up-air or up-tilt a juggle
-Our suicide recouvery kills *you* first so don‘t get to predictable
-Edgeguard us it is fairly easy based on your character
-Don‘t think you win because you have a sword, Mii Brawler is one of the few up-close fighters that can deal with disjoints, we will dash-attack punish you and have a juggle opportunity
-Mii Brawler is the fastest Mii on the ground 2th fastest in the air (1th is Swordfighter), but also the lightest of all,
-Mii Brawler has a good ledgetrapping and edgeguarding tool with neutral B 1 if spaced right
-Side-B 1 has „aura“
-In scrambles shield, jab is frame 2 so most characters won‘t hit before he does
-We will usually punish missed techs like Gunners, a jab lock is the worst thing that can happen to you since our smash attacks kill pretty early or we follow up with a special(e.g. Down-B 1, Neutral-B 2.....)
That’s all of what I can think of now
Well, since a brawler showed up and did my job, I'll do what I can for swordie.
- Swordie has an easy kill confirm in the form of Tornado (neutral b) and Hero Spin (up b). Most Swordfighters use these moves because of it. Just shield tornadoes and look for an opening. The move is easy to punish up close because of high endlag.
- Stone scabbard (up b) can do the same kind of funky shit near ledge that Ike and Chrom enjoy. Respect it if you are fighting a Swordie that uses it. It will snap to ledge on the downward part, and a good Swordie can use this to kill.
Another good option with the move is to land on the stage with it instead of snapping ledge to deal with ledgetrapping. Easy to punish if you can tell they are at the right height for it.
- Chakram (side b) can be thrown fast with a smash input or slow with a tilt input. Any swordfighter worth their salt will mix this up, along with the directional variants. Fast is better for range, but slow comes back like a boomerang and is better for interrupting approaches, including landing aerials with the directional up variation. Swordie will often throw this out at middle ranges or when they have center stage. It's not hard to find an opening, but it does mean you always have to keep it in the back to your mind of they are using it.
- If you haven't seen their down B, be careful with projectiles. I've seen Swordfighters switch their counter for the rainbow, and seal games by reflecting a charge shot. It's a trick that only works once, but if you haven't seen a counter, be on the lookout for it.
- Just because their down air is not a spike does not mean it is easier to contest. It is still a disjoint and I personally like to land with it from time to time. As with most swordfighter moves, this has a strong landing lag, so shield and punish, or if you can outrange the disjoint, punish while they're in the air to juggle.
That's all I can recall off the top of my head, and I'm by no means a pro, but I hope it helps.
We have a whole Mii MU Guide down here now
@@Jezzared Watch out for the Somersault Side B. Mii Swordfighter's approach is generally pretty predictable with both Chakram and Gale Strike, but Somersault throws that out the window with a super fast approach option that not only kills, but also bounces MS away from the target, making it a lot safer on shield than people would think it is.
What grade were you given?
3:23 "Oh, and parry the missiles, they do plenty of shield damage."
DO NOT DO THIS!!!!!!! Please. One of the easiest Samus combos is just super missile to charge shot. So many people will parry the missile without thinking, then immediately get hit by the giant ball of death right behind them. We look for this. I look for this. I lose to this regularly. Don't parry super missile. Bad banana.
KC Sutherland just jab them

Yeah, I saw a really well summarized tl;dr on how to play my main character in this list. This really can be looked at in the opposite light and find a crash course on how to optimally abuse your character lol.
you can also learn your main's weaknesses to avoid them
It works better as that, honestly.
Since Min Min has come out, I have some tips-
Don't try to outrange her. Unless you're Samus, Mega Man, or one of the Belmonts, it will NOT work, and even if you are, it probably won't. She tends to struggle against fast characters that can close the distance. If you do manage to get close, watch out for a one-two punch from both arms. You can anticipate it and dodge roll to her other side and punish her for it. If she launches you off stage, be mindful of her Ram Ram or Dragon laser. If you're off stage and she jumps above you, either get out of the way or use a fast attack, because she's probably trying to spike you with down air. If you do avoid it, it's pretty much a guaranteed lost stock for her, so most players won't try it, but it's still a possibility that you need to look out for.
Underrated, thx man

8:22 as a bowser main, he has the longest ledge get up attack in the game by a long shot. It covers almost a quarter of the stage. So, when you’re ledgetrapping him, make sure to do it at a safe distance so he doesn’t get free stage control. This is a huge part of the MU and I’ve won multiple sets off of people not being careful when ledge trapping me.
Also, with Ryu, watch out for Shakunetsu, it’s an insane neutral tool and he really likes mashing it to guard his recovery.
That isn't really a problem. The thing you need to be careful about bowser is up b oos and side b. Other then that the chatacter sucks and easy to beat.

People think bowser is top 15 which is stupid, but he’s definitely high tier. I put him around 25th on my tier list. He has a lot of slightly losing matchups but a lot of them are to super non meta characters(Robin, Bowser Junior, Lucas, Falco, Ryu etc), but he beats/goes even with a lot of high tiers (Snake Fox Joker BotW Link Young Link Ken Wolf Ike Ness Olimar and others). He’s a lot harder to perform with at a local level because the low tiers that beat him are way more common than the top/high tiers that he beats which is why you don’t see him a ton at a low/mid level
He has possibly the scariest advantage stage in the game(rivaled by only Luigi, Peach, Pikachu, and Arsene Joker) as one or two neutral wins usually translates into a stock if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Bowser seems pretty easy to fight on the outside, but there are a bunch of little minute details that you 100% have to know or else you’ll get rolled(ledge get up Attack, up smash is completely invincible, up tilt platform tech chases, etc.)

This video was very helpful but it would be much better with more detail. I know this video probably took ages to finish but if you put more detail it would have provided much more information and could possibly make the match ups much easier. Another thing you could’ve done is a 10-12 minute series covering a character for each character and explaining how to deal with them. Just wanted to show how it could have been much more useful but it makes sense if you didn’t have the time to do that stuff I listed.
I mean yeh, doing shorter more in depth videos is obviously gonna be better but theres 81 characters and if he made a 5 min vid on each of them that's 405 min which is almost 7 hours, that would take a lot of time and energy. (Not hating on u btw)
Robin main here, the aerials are extremely true. Do watch out for down smash and F smash as well, they have lingering hitboxes that will two frame you. For covering getups, the more advanced of us know to utilize falling arcfire, essentially making enemies on ledge do an option asap. My go to option is usually a falling arcfire, then charge thunder on the spot, or stay between your get up and your roll and shield. If you roll, a down smash will get you, if you jump or recover up high then aerials, if you neutral get up a jab does the trick and if you get up attack I shield then punish with roll to grab or just a grab. Also, angling elwind is a thing so careful when ledge guarding no matter which angle you're coming from. Hope this helps! :)

For those looking for advice on how to fight Mii Gunner:
-They will almost always have Charge Shot, so the same stuff applies as with Samus.
-Watch out for nair, it's relatively fast and covers all around Gunner, and can sometimes setup into other moves.
-Expect bomb drop, and try to move around it when recovering.
-Don't let the huge range on her up air and fsmash catch you off guard. Against up air, dodge away if you see her going for it. Against fsmash, hold shield or try to avoid it altogether.
I'm not a super competitive player, but I hope this advice helps nonetheless.
Also take advantage of the poor mobility she has
U also forgot that mii gunner has floaty aerials, down throw to uair at low percents can set into combos, up tilt and down tilt can kill at decent percents, if a mii gunner knows what their doing they can recover with their fair so watch out for that, if the gunner has the jump kick up b they will use it for an out of shield and it has kill power, and for the love of god, *DO NOT GO UNDER IF THEYRE EDGE GUARDING WITH JUMP KICK* it spikes and it spikes hard but the lack of recovery it has is easy to gimp, the lazy is weak enough to jab lock so every situation could be a tech situation so be careful, her Fair does seem weak but its messes up alot of characters and can cancel out so be alert

It's not the best advice either. He wants the game to be Smash 4 so badly but there's way too many fast, small characters in this game that are safe on block and punish grab attempts.
Dr. Kuhn there are other oos options than grab. Grab is probably the worst for most chars.

Here are some more tips when fighting Shulk.
*When Shulk is in advantage:*
Make sure to mix up your defensive options when being pressured in the corner and when being juggled. If you get too predictable, he can punished almost anything very hard.
Respect his f-air, d-air, and ledge drop Airslash when you are off stage. All three have great range.
If he uses Jump art when edgeguarding, look for how he goes off stage. If he jumps off the ledge, try recovering very low or very high. If he runs off the ledge, recovering low is usually your best option.
Shulk's 2-frame options are limited to landing aerials and d-tilt, the latter of which is very inconsistent. Try baiting him into landing with an aerial by slightly delaying when you grab the ledge. When doing this, however, keep in mind that he can drop off the ledge with a down air.
If you do get 2-framed by d-tilt, be prepared for a double jump f-air.
*In neutral:*
Don't even try to punish his spaced aerials. He'll usually follow up with d-tilt, f-tilt, or even an f-smash.
Speaking of f smash, always try to punish it. Even if he hit your shield from a distance, it's very easy to punish.
Dash attack on Shield is safer than you might think. Be careful when trying to punish it.
If you get hit by a neutral air, di away is usually your best option.
Contesting Speed art is normally not a good idea. It's better to wait it out, especially if platforms are in play.
If he misspaces an aerial, you can try shield grabbing him. This works for most areas, except n-air in some cases.
*When Shulk is in disadvantage:*
Bait and wait. Bait out Arts and wait, bait out whiffs and wait, bait out airdodges and wait.
When edgeguarding him, keep in mind that his up-B does not go very far horizontally, so he'll normally need to jump inwards.
When preparing to ledge trap him, keep in mind that his up the can hit past the ledge. The best way to counter this is by jumping and spiking him.
Many Shulk players will jump in with a f-air to catch you off-guard. Either Shield it, or jump and punish it.
When Shield pressuring him, be wary of his up-B. It's not the fastest oos option, but it has a ton of range, so spacing with laggy aerials will not work. This also means he does a decent job dealing with cross ups.
That's about all I can think of for now.

How to actually fight mii brawler:
1. Dont touch their shield, all 3 up bs are amazing oos, plus usmash and nair are great oos
2. Watch out for weak nair into jab, it catches people loads of times
3. Most of his stuff isnt true, so make sure to mix up how you get out, with airdodges and jumps.
4. Dtilt combos into fair, utilt, nair, bair, up air and every up b, and its pretty lagless, so sit in shield and wait for the brawler's next action and punish that
5. Fsmash and dtilt can 2 frame, so mixup your recovery
6. If they are using suplex, dont sit in shield often, they will get a tech chase
7. Take them to town & city, upb 1 kills them first there. Ban battlefield and Yoshi's if you want to not die at 30% to upb 3
8. Space your aerials against them, and cross up their shield, they don't have much to punish people behind them oos
9. Watch out for shotput, it is one of the easiest projectiles to snipe with
10. If for some reason, they are using exploding side kick(the falcon punch one), do not think it has the lag of a falcon punch, it has way less
11. Feint jump is way less scary than zss' flip kick, its slower and doesnt ground. Just watch out for when they press b again whil feint jumping, it sends them miles
U also forgot dont challenge exploding kick last second bc the brawler has super armor, if a brawler runs onslaught or suplex without feint jump its an easy edgegaurd, also beware of the feint jump spike, its not powerful, but its one hell of gimp, also be careful with brawler if he has up b 1 *HE WILL AND WONT HESITATE TO TAKE YOU WITH HIM* also watch out for down throw to up b 3 it kills super early but easy to di if fast enough

Can be turned around multiple times. Be wary of us baiting your counter with it then reversing rollout, reversing rollout again, and hitting you in your counter's endlag. To those who actually need help against the Pits:
Don’t fight them off stage, they will win with 4 jumps and a great side b
Punish their down b because they will use it for a midair shield. It has a good amount of end lag and doesn’t block above
Recover higher than normal because they will either spike you below or shoot you to death if you recover sideways
They will use down tilt to aerials a lot

You greatly underrate the strength of Falcon's down B. Its great at clearing the stage, has great range, is low risk and requires nothing but to time it with your opponents landing. I get more kills with that than anything else.
"Approaching BAIRs can be dealt with by shielding."
Why is that funny
How to beat little mac: Just do it lmao
Camp at the ledge until he does something stupid and then back throw. Congrats, you took a stock
What's messed up I have the most problems with Mac, he makes me irrationally nervous with his forward smash.
Step 2: don't let him f smash and down smash and if you have projectiles just throw all of em at him
For Mac, he has trouble with platforms and with camping in general. Projectiles often force him to take to the air, and, this being Little Mac, that's not good. For example, Isabelle, Snake, and Pac Man can leave things on the stage that force him to avoid them. Also, don't challenge his smashes, you're going to have a bad time. 95% of the time, if you see a Mac charging neutral B, it's bait. Treat it as such. One key difference between Smash 4 and Ultimate Mac is that, in 4, he could muscle his way through projectiles off stage by spamming side b. He'd eat a lot of damage for doing that, but he would get back on stage. That... doesn't work anymore.
"Ice Climbers Side B has lots of priority"
Nice joke, lol.
To be fair it does d not going to lie I use it more as a sopo then both
Actually he not wrong about side b with ice climbers I mean have you seen keritaro in tournament and Big D

@@NotRockMan You completely missed my point, though I admit I wasn't 100% clear. I was referring to their release in Smash. 64 Characters on a 64 stage, Melee on a Melee stage, etc. Nothing to do with their home game since many don't even have a corresponding stage/overlap with others from the same game series.
I'm gonna argue with the wolf analysis on tue kill power part. Its pretty damn good.
For Mii fighters you basically have to bait them into revealing enough of their present moveset for you to figure out how to act accordingly, every time. This is a lot harder to do on smaller stages/Battlefield layout though, since you've got very little room to work with. It's even worse if stage hazards are on. Characters than can use projectiles to keep opponents at bay without sacrificing movement speed can be useful here.
