I lost my husband after he woke up one day covered with bruises and he collapsed later that day. We were told he had leukemia and had no chance to live till morning. Matt, if you ever read this, we fought everyday together and he lived another 3 beautiful years together despite the knowledge he may not survive every day for those 3 years. We got to say goodbye and I know we will see each other again. I held his hand on his trip to heaven and he held mine. It ha been 40 years now without him and all of our children will always ache, every once in a while I look up and say to him can you just come down a minute and help us thru this. We can't see or hear him but I can feel him right here next to all of us and we make it thru another tough time together. Your strength is her strength as well holding your children close as you get thru the storms. May God bless you all every moment of every day.
First Mr. Mauser....you are a very brave man. Wearing your heart on your sleeve for US all to see. I wish you so much peace. And we are ALL by your side in prayer! I know that is not the same. But know Prayer is Powerful.

Matt, thank you for sharing your grief with the world. As a clinician who works with grieving clients, I cannot tell you how very important this is for others to see. You are so right about needing to find joy for your babies. So many will find the courage to face a new day by hearing this.
Take a horror, make meaning and purpose with it, then it can be your salvation.

I agree.. When my precious Mum died tragically, during childbirth, we never discussed my Mom .. We didn't want to hurt my Dad.. The family ,including children need to grieve..My Dad was left with a new baby, son age 5, I was 11, and my 14yr old sister..

That is such a beautiful song!!! I lost my husband and best friend 21 years ago...very suddenly!! He was 43 and I was 40!!! The grief is undescribable and you can't see your way out of that kind of pain!! We were married for 19 years!! I couldn't imagine life without him...thought I would never smile again and no one could help me. I had to get up everyday and go on...not really for me but for my family - it seemed that everyone was hurting but it all hinged around me - the better day I had the better day they had. This was a great thing for me as I had amazing parents and family. They all helped me through this. Lean on your family and those that love you...know that my heart breaks for you!! You will get through this as one day turns into another...one week into another and each month into another. One day your heart will be filled with happiness of all the memories you two shared and the tears will dry up and be replaced with smiles. I think of him everyday of my life even after 21 years and all I do is smile at the wonderful and blessed life I had with him. All you can do is get through one day at a time...words of wisdom from my mom who would have done anything to take away my pain. Much love to you and your family!! Praying for you!!!

I saw your video on AGT today and you have a beautiful family. My heart breaks for you all. I myself lost my oldest son in November, 2 weeks after his 23rd birthday to a fatal car accident. My heart feels so shattered. Keep making your beautiful music
Dear Matt,
I lost my beloved husband in 2013 Afterwards I lost myself along the way and my better have got the best of me.
I went through alot of changes only to realize that it was making me stronger not just for myself but for my family. Death of a loved one is never easy but it is managable, by taking one day at a time, moving forward, continuing to love yourself and those around you will make a brighter tomorrow.

Lost my fiance decades ago in a car accident. Should have been driving that day to LA from Santa Barbara area. Something came up I couldn't make it. Even today I wish it had been me and not her. She was beautiful, kind, and had the most joyous laugh. She was a Christian and I believe I will see her again. Lost my unborn child that day also. My life was destroyed that day and it took years for me to recover. Though I blamed God at first, I eventually came to the conclusion that things like this happen to many people all the time. I still miss her desperately. She was one of the few that got my sense of humor. I will always love her. That was her gift to me. I will see her again when I get to heaven and see my child lfor the first time ever. I still love you sweetheart and always will. I was blessed to have her in my life even if it was a short time.

I lost the love of my life of 17 years in 2017. Grief is such a hard pill to swallow. I think of John every day and feel blessed I had that kind of love but it doesn't take the pain or heartache away. I would love to tell you it gets better but the loss comes in waves. Count your blessings during this time and know it is OK to grieve. To feel this much grief is to know how much love you had shared. Sending you thoughts and prayers.

Hi Matt, that night of AGT , I can’t stop crying to see you when the four judges talk to you and you till them about your self and about your wife Christina , especially that time you cry, I can’t stop Crying because it’s reminds me when my husband died in April 2007 ,For me His my Hero my best friend and my everything in my life , His to young to lost in my life He was 47 years when he died and I was 45 also our marriage is only 5 years, I can’t take it anymore on that time that his gone until now but little by little I realize that my family in the Philippines they needs me , so I focused my work every day and listen the music 🎶, But you Matt you are so lucky because you have 3 children’s that makes you laugh to talk and go somewhere with them makes busy sometimes so God bless to you and to your children!!!

Just wanted to tell you that "Lost" really struck a chord with me tonight. I've been going through some difficult times and your song made me realize that I'm not alone. Hi Matt, Just saw you in AGT and I felt your pain. I know what you're going through. I was married for 30yrs and lost my husband 3yrs ago. And I tell you the pain won't go away but as the days goes by it just gets easier. Your kids will be your strength so just hold on.
I know its hard when ur heart hasnt held yet... Remember one step at a time... Only time can mend and heal whats lost its not easy.. But remember you still have three little ones who will look up to u as dad as mom... Be strong and its ok to cry... But i alwase tell myself this and ill say this to u... If you cry let it all out for the next time if u cry let be for a different reason but dont let the pain defind who u are...i can see how humble u are and how strong u stand...
