What's your biggest obstacle when trying to find time for creative pursuits? Maybe we can help each other out!

This is very cool. However, I’m so out of touch with creativity… I have nothing to spend a coffee break on

Haha, I see. Maybe the coffee break should just be spent on coffee then :) It just depends on whether you want to be "back in touch" even a little bit or not. Thanks for watching the video anyways, appreciate it!

I can totally relate to leaving the phone in the fridge! I sometimes do the same in the toilet 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you for making this video, I find myself constantly disappointed in myself for not being creative all the time as a graphic designer. The way you explained it makes so much more sense... to savor the Creative process, not just the end product. Subscribed, can't wait to see more videos!

I’m glad to hear this gave you a bit of perspective! The mental switch from focusing on the process as opposed to the “destination”/result was a game changer for me. If you can do a little more of the “processes” that you enjoy, it could help in the day to day a lot. Which parts of the graphics design tasks are usually fun for you?

Great video for many reasons !!!! the topic of creativity is something very close to my heart ! To me is like you said..is a muscle..not a mindset..the more one exercise it the better it gets... Ive been playing drums for a long time .. 43 years...piano have been my way of writing songs(melody-harmony, etc...) but a few months ago I bought a guitar and a bass... which I play about everyday !!! consistency is the name of then game...and now I'm using those 2 instruments as tools for my writing ! Great analogy about the coffee break... Usually I play guitar and bass for just 5-10 minutes..sometimes twice a day... Before as any novice I was very clumsy with my fingers ..now feels so much better !!! Your video looks great and sounds great ! plus the editing is direct and to the point ! Very well done Kara !!!!

Thank you JJ! Wow, way to practice even for a small amount of time a day. You're inspiring me to sing a little more. I haven't really done it in months and it takes nothing to do it for 5 minutes. Bass is such a cool instrument and guitar definitely too. Very impressive that you pick up instruments and just figure it out. That's an awesome thing to do. I have someone in my family like this and he sometimes find such niche, random instruments that I haven't even heard about haha. It's so nice to see. Keep it up!

Great video! I really loved the message and the cinematography involved in the intro! (especially the circle montage and the coffee bag shot!)
I think one thing I struggle with is the notion that unless I spend hours on something, that I can't possibly get into a focused state and achieve anything interesting. I have started doing pomodoros though, and that's been helping me challenge this idea and think of the things I do in smaller chunks. So, maybe I don't have time to paint over lunch one day, *but* I definitely have time to set everything up and plan what I want to paint so I can dive right in later.

That's a great way to think about it! I really understand where you're coming from. If I could, I would carve out entire weeks to edit videos, run around with the camera, etc. But I've found the forcing function of "okay, I need to just make the most of this small window of time" to be very helpful. It pushes me to be even more creative, often.
It's definitely exciting to at least set things up and then think about what you'll get to paint :) glad this video resonated with you.
