Bugger me how lucky was Ron! Such an incredibly beautiful woman inside and out! Absolute stunner!
Unforgettable Judith! Thank you Rich, for giving us these beautiful memories.
This is wonderful. I am seriously ill now with lyme and failed therapies... but I was a young professional jazz singer from a family of musicians and Judith was always my favourite... always... I am lsitening to this music now and it gives me comfort. I am 34...
Daria, I'm sorry to hear about your health. I can sympathize with health difficulties, and I hope those are not holding you back from producing or doing what you want to in life. I hope you are able to find a cost-effective treatment that truly works, or at least alleviates your symptoms so you can go about your day-to-day.
I also have been suffering from some long-term medical complications I never received treatment for during my youth. I was born into a family that didn't believe in using medical treatment over the use of prayer, and so we never went to the doctor or saught professional treatment for those types of things. I'm not in that religious environment anymore, but these health complications have escalated into something not financially accessible to most in my country and social class without going into 15‐20 years of debt servitude. It's a grim situation, and I fear I might only have a year or two left at this point. I hope I can go relatively painlessly when my time comes.
I'll turn 35 in June, and I feel lucky to have stumbled upon Judith's incredible catalogue. Vocals, instrumentals, and lyrics that blow modern music releases out of the water. How I wish quality artistry such as this were mainstream for our generation! How I wish this played on the radio today! I just can't relate to the overabundance of lyrically vulgar, musically overproduced, auto-tuned songs of today's mainstream; most seem to focus more on spectacle rather than vocal talent.
Judith Durham could make what ever song she sang sound beautiful what a voice
The old standards never grow old and to hear Judith sing her interpretation is a real pleasure. Just a singer and a piano player, still a classic setup. Thank you very much for this wonderful performance..
My favorite singer!
Thank you Rich. Unfortunately there are relatively few records of Judith and Ron playing together. They were very fine partners indeed. And of course Judith was the greatest and most beautiful singer of all times.
Thanks to your channel Judith will always be with us. Singing always to our hearts
A beautiful angel Judith Durham! The best of Australia.
Judith Durham was an amazing person with a wonderful voice. In my opinion the best voices in the world of all time.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Not just Australian!
Yes it is true! I rephrase what I said; one of the best voices in the world!
@@anteliomonteiroabellan1214 You can edit your original post, did you know?
You never cease to amaze me, Rich, with the amazing finds you share with us. Splendid work on this one. I hadn't heard her cover this song before. Also had to look up Earthquake McGoon's only to find that it was in San Francisco and featured the Turk Murphy San Francisco Jazz Band. They apparently endured three more moves before completely closing Earthquake McGoon's in 1984 and relocating to higher class quarters in the Nob Hill area of San Francisco. Thank you so much, Rich! I learned a few things!
Beautiful!
Judith had a wonderful voice, just watched some of her buts in you tube with the men from the seekers, and with her husband playing the piano. There won't be another person like Judith. Unforgettable voice.
She was a great overall artist, and with very stringent standards to comply with. And she would only work with artists of similar rank.
This reminds me of the songs you'd hear in those classic b+w movies in the 40's.
Ron's hands were larger than most, this enabled him to have a rare playing technique.
Van Cliburn, who became famous for winning a Tournament in Russia back in the 1950s, also had very large hands. He was also tall and given his druthers would have played high school basketball, He could palm a basketball. He was a high school classmate of mine at Kilgore high His mother, of course, would never let him invest that much time in sports.but he would stuff on a local school playground just for fun with a friend of mine.
@@johnschuh8616 Van Cliburn won the Tchaikovsky competition, the most coveted event of that time. His teacher at the Julliard School was a Russian virtuoso player who had herself been the first prize winner of the Moscow Conservatory in the 1890s, and a contemporary of Rachmaninoff there.
Love this legendary music.
The good old days again
Beautiful song and precious memories... thank you rich963 for sharing this rare and priceless video with all of us. 🇨🇦
Thank you so much! Though we will never meet in person, I appreciate you.
Fabulous song great voice
Judy is missed by many, The Seekers wrote some great music that is timeless.
WOW how wonderful that you found this gem Rich - absolutely wonderful. Thanks for sharing
Made my day 💕💕
Great find Rich. Thanks.
Love this rendition! I had heard it a lot as I was a young girl in the 1950’s and my Nana played lots of songs like this and sang!
Such a great talent,I have always loved hearing her music 🎶🎶💕
Incredible.
Rich, thank you for your generous labors so that people like me can continue to experience the thrill of hearing a performance from Judith (and Ron!) for the first time. Being unaware of what (musically) comes next and the nearly ethereal revelation of Judith's melodic interpretation is an absolute joy, one with a hard, finite limit to how many times it can be experienced, making it the most savory of delights.
What a gift she was to the world, and how lucky we were to be contemporaries with this legend during our lifetimes.
Nise! Nice job finding this!
Thank you for all you do to preserve all these memories!
Wow. It’s beautiful. Thx ❤
💕
No longer rare, thanks to Rich963! Nice performance.
